Caught in the undertow,
I was flotsam
on the tide,
my life lay in tatters
and I had nothing
left to hide
but the parts of me
you'd discarded,
thrown away so
casually—
I was nothing to you
but jetsam,
abandoned to the sea,
yet on the shoreline
of my existence,
I may have floundered
helplessly,
but amidst the seashells
and lost treasure,
I finally found me.
