ONE YEAR LATER
28TH TENKAICHI BUDOKAI TOMORROW
It has been one whole year since the Red Ribbon Army attempted to resurface. Since then, not too much has changed after we defeated Cell Max. Gamma 1 was made a security officer at Capsule Corp, complete with a brand new white Capsule Corp uniform made just for him and a blue armband to pay tribute to Gamma 2.

Dr. Hedo became a scientist at Capsule Corp, helping Bulma modify her skin to reduce aging, despite her being a beautiful woman. D/N's training has increased tenfold, first learning to launch simple Ki Blasts before advancing to more powerful techniques. I taught her the Kamehameha and Caulifla taught her the Crush Cannon, both of which D/N pulled off in little time. Soon, I planned to teach her the Final Spirit Cannon, to pass on the technique that Bardock created. Speaking of Bardock, D/N began to develop... a strange habit. When I'd check on D/N, she would often wear Bardock's old green scouter on her face. It was broken and she knew that, but she continued to wear it, claiming it made her happy. As long as she didn't break it further, I saw no problem with D/N carrying her Great Grandfather's scouter with her.

One year after Cell Max was unleashed, Earth was at peace again, and the 28th Tenkaichi Budokai was right around the corner. An 18-year-old Trunks flew through the air in a Capsule Corp plane, searching for Goten
Trunks: Huh, that's odd. She seems to be running a little sluggish. Nah, I'd rather fly the old-fashioned way.
Trunks pressed a button, opening the window, allowing him to step out, his bright blue hair blowing in the wind. With the press of two more buttons, the ship returned to its capsule, which Trunks caught.
Trunks: Much better!
Trunks flew off, laughing as he soared through the air.
Trunks: Whoa.
Trunks looked on over Mount Paozu
Trunks: Been a long time since I've been here.
Trunks swooped down and landed outside the house of Goku and Gohan
Trunks knocked on the door
Trunks: Hello? Anyone home?
Suddenly, the voice of Chi-Chi emerged from above. A visibly older Chi-Chi was doing laundry on an upper level of the house
Chi-Chi: Oh! Hey, Trunks! Welcome to Mount Paozu!
Trunks: It's great to be out here! Say ah, is Goten around?
Chi-Chi: When he wants to be. Right now, he's off training with Goku and Y/N. Go ask Videl, she'll know where they went!
Trunks: Great! Thanks! It was nice to see you again, Chi-Chi!
Trunks walked over to Gohan's house, which was now right next door to Goku's.
Trunks: Hey! Knock, knock!
Trunks knocked on the door, which slowly creaked open
Trunks: Uh, hello? Gohan? Videl?
Trunks walked inside the house. The house was well cleaned, the TV playing a mid-day edition of Weather News. Trunks gazed at a nearby, which had a framed photo of Gohan and Videl's wedding sitting on it. Trunks smiled
???: Trunks! Wow, what a surprise! How have you been?
Trunks turned to see Videl walking down the stairs.
Trunks: Hey, Videl! I've been pretty good. It's nice to see ya!
Videl: It's been too long, look at you. You're a grown man now!
Trunks: Yeah! I finally look like the future Me now, it's a bit strange, honestly. *laughs*
Trunks' laughing was cut off by the TV
Hercule: WHAT DO YOU MEAN TOO OLD!? MY MEGATON PUNCH IS AS STRONG AS EVER
Hercule Satan showed off for the camera, swinging wildly at nothing
Videl: *sighs* That's my Dad alright... He has no shame whatsoever.
Trunks: Well, he is the World Champion.
Videl: I just wish he'd stop taking credit for things that he really didn't do. I swear, it's like he's a WWE superstar and the whole world is his ring
Trunks: Oh, right, I came to ask if you knew where Goten is.
Videl: I think Gohan would know, he should be down the mountain away, training with Pan
Trunks: Gohan? Training? Haven't heard those words in a good while.
Videl: Yeah, well, Gohan has been making time to keep up with his training.
Trunks: Really? Thanks, Videl!
Videl: Of course! Good to see you again, Trunks!
Trunks walked outside, flying down the mountain, he found Pan and Gohan training together.
Pan: HA!
Gohan deflected an incoming punch from the now 5-year-old Pan.
Gohan: Come on, Pan! Really give it your all!
Pan grunted, swinging at Gohan again, but Gohan grabbed her wrist and tossed her to the side. She grabbed onto the trunk of a tree, swung around, and flew back at Gohan, kicking him in the side of the head.
Gohan: GAH!
Pan: YAY! I GOTCHA, DAD!
Gohan: Yeah, you sure did! Good form, Pan!
Pan smiled
Pan: Hey! Dad! It's Trunks!
Gohan turned as Trunks landed down behind him
Gohan: Trunks! Long time no see!
Trunks: Hey, Gohan! Hey, Pan.
Trunks knelt down, rubbing Pan's head.
Trunks: I see you're keeping up with training.
Gohan: I have to. I know Y/N is strong, but after the whole Moro thing, we need all the help we can get, staying as strong as I can helps a bunch.
Trunks: Good to hear it! You know, I still haven't seen that white-haired form of yours.
Gohan: You haven't? Huh, I never noticed that.
Trunks: What is it called again?
Gohan: I never actually thought of a name...
Trunks: Bummer, I heard from Dad that it's really impressive
Gohan: It is, but my hair gets all heavy in the form and my voice gets all deep and scary sounding
Trunks laughed
Trunks: So, do you know where Goten is?
Gohan: Yeah, Goten, Dad, and Y/N are off training on the south face. Your folks are on their way now.
Trunks: They are?! They never mentioned that. You wanna join me?
Gohan: Huh? Sure! Why not! Hey, Pan, wanna go see your Grandpa and Uncles?
Pan: Yeah!
Gohan: Alright! Try to keep up now!
Gohan, Trunks, and Pan all flew off.

On the south face, Goku and a 17-year-old Goten were training together
Goku: Ha!
Goten: Ow!
Goku: *laughing* Gotcha!
Goten: Not fair!
Goku: Why not?
Goten and Goku landed down across from each other. Goku now wore a bright blue gi with dark teal pants and orange wristbands.
Goten: You're in for it now, Dad!
Goku: Oh yeah!?
Bulma and Vegeta arrived, observing the training
Bulma: Now tell me. What is so important about this?
Goten charged at Goku, swinging rapidly, but Goku simply ducked under, kicking Goten in the gut and then the chin.
Goten: One day, the shoe is gonna be on the other foot!
Goku looked up, seeing Vegeta and Bulma
Goku: Hey! What a surprise! Long time no see! How's it going?
Bulma: Now you wouldn't know that! Would you, Goku?! How could you?! You never call and if we didn't come visit you, we'd probably never see you again.
Goku: Hey! Come on, you know that's not true! Didn't we see each other not too long ago?
Bulma: 4 YEARS, GOKU! I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU SINCE FRIEZA BROUGHT BROLY TO EARTH! Every time we get together with everyone, you're off training with Beerus and Whis!
Goku: Well, it's true! I... I.. uhh...
Goku paused before chuckling
Goku: Wow, it has been long
Bulma: What do you mean?! Come on, spit it out!
Goku: Well... it's just.. you look middle-aged-
Bulma: SHUT YOUR RUDE MOUTH! I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW MOST PEOPLE THINK I LOOK GOOD FOR MY AGE! EXCUSE ME FOR NOT BEING AN ALIEN THAT DOESN'T AGE!
Vegeta: We Saiyans evolved as a warrior race! We retain our youthfulness so we can fight longer. Truthfully, I only have about 20 or so years left before I begin to age again.
Bulma: I guess your warrior race didn't evolve with enough brains to have good manners!
Vegeta: By the way, Kakarot! Is it true you're going to be fighting in the World Championship?
Goku: Yup! Sure am! And you should compete as well!
Vegeta: I can tell, Kakarot, you're hiding something. After everything we've been through, the Tournament with Universe 6, the Tournament of Power, and fighting Moro, why compete in an Earth tournament?
Goku: Alright... there is this guy who signed up yesterday to fight. I think he might be really good.
Vegeta: Really?! You'd think I could sense a spirit like that.
Goku: That's true if he wasn't suppressing his energy. No, I think this guy is really shrewd. We may have ourselves a challenge.
Vegeta: Hmm! I don't believe it! A real fighter on this planet? Is he an alien?!
Goku: No, this guy is 100% Earthling
Vegeta: Is he an android?! Genetically modified?! What?!
Goku: Nope, he is a regular human
Bulma: How could that be possible? Earth doesn't have a fighter capable of what you Saiyans are capable of.
Goten looked up, seeing Gohan, Trunks, and Pan
Goten: Trunks? Gohan?
Trunks: Hey!
Goku: Gohan! I see you're keeping up with training. Say, maybe you and I should spar, I've wanted to see that new form of yours!
Gohan: Maybe someday, Dad.
Pan runs up to Goku
Goku: Pan!
Goku picks up Pan and hoists her onto his shoulder
Goku: Wow, look at you! You're getting stronger too!
Pan: Yeah! Dad and I have been training together!
Goku: I can tell!
Trunks: So, Goten. Are you just grazing? Are you going to be fighting in the tournament or are you chickening out?
Goten: Yeah. My dad is making me fight. I actually had a date tomorrow... Until he made me cancel, that is.
Goku: Aww, come on, son! There will be tons of time AFTER the tournament
Vegeta: Seems your youngest has the same slack attitude as my son
Goku: It's hard not to be soft in this time of peace.
Suddenly, a massive gust of wind blew past everyone, it was a person. The person landed not far away.
Goku: Man! She's getting faster and faster!
Trunks: Who was that?
Everyone runs over to see Caulifla and Y/N not far away. Son D/N landed down in front of them
Y/N POV
D/N landed down in front of us, a smile on her face, Bardock's broken scouter covering her left eye
D/N: Daddy! I just flew around the world again! Good, huh?
Y/N: Yeah! That was your fastest time yet!
D/N: Think I'll be ready for tomorrow?
Y/N: You betcha!
Trunks: Hey!
I look up to see Trunks, Vegeta, and Bulma, as well as Gohan and Pan
Y/N: Oh! Hey, you guys!
D/N turned around to see everyone, spotting Pan
D/N: PAN!
Pan jumped off Dad's shoulder and ran toward D/N, the two hugging and laughing
Trunks: Hey, Y/N! Did you just say D/N is going to be fighting?!
Bulma: What?! But there's not a junior division at the tournament this year, guys! Don't tell me she's gonna fight adults!
Y/N: Ah, don't worry about D/N, you guys!
Caulifla: She's my daughter, after all, she can hold her own against any fighter!
Gohan: Pan and I are joining in too!
Trunks: What?! Seriously?
Gohan: Yeah! D/N and Pan are more than capable of competing in the tournament!
Vegeta smirked
Vegeta: D/N has the right attitude! I'm going to enter as well!
Trunks: I am too!
Vegeta: Perhaps you and I will fight, then I can finally teach you some manners, boy!
Trunks laughs a bit.
