HOW DID BARDOCK DEFEAT GAS?
Bardock: TAKE THIS!!
Bardock embued his fist with energy and charged at Gas, who took the punch head-on. Gas landed on the ground
Gas: Judging from his tail, I suppose he must be a Saiyan. And a powerful fighter too. We believed only the low-level grunts were sent to this planet... Perhaps we were wrong.
Bardock charged forward, punching Gas up high in the air before kicking him down to the ground.
Bardock: I'm pretty sure that didn't finish him off.
Bardock lands near Monaito and the unconscious Granolah
Bardock: Monaito! Use this chance and get as far away as you can! Listen to me... You two have to survive!
Monaito: Yeah!
Monaito grabbed the young Granolah as Bardock's scouter beeped rapidly. Gas flew up high and landed down in front of Bardock
Gas: You cannot escape me.
Bardock: There's not even a scratch on you! What a monster!
Gas: I am going to end this now. I cannot afford to have Elec lose faith in me. Not here... and he ordered me to handle this without delay
Gas summoned a small spiked club
Monaito: Bardock... We'll take what fate hands us. You've done enough.
Bardock: What?!
Monaito: There's no reason for you to lay down your life here. Run and save yourself!
Bardock: No way! That's crazy talk!
Gas: I should mention. You could flee right now. But the Saiyans aren't fated to last much longer away.
Bardock: That's a nice argument, but how about you back it up with a source!?
Gas: Oh, it's nothing. Just a little something I heard from Elec.
Bardock: I've heard enough cryptic bullshit from you, shrimp! IT'S YOU AND YOUR GANG WHO'VE GOT NO FUTURE!!
Bardock launched a blast at Gas, who jumped up high, bringing the club down on Bardock's arms. The spikes pierced Bardock's skin
Bardock: GAAAAAH!!
Bardock gritted his teeth, pushing through the pain and grabbing the club by the handle. He swung Gas around and threw him far away
Bardock: LISTEN CLOSELY! THIS IS MY FIGHT NOW! YOU TWO'RE IN THE WAY, SO GET OUTTA HERE!!
Bardock flew off, meeting Gas in mid-air
Gas: YOUR BLOWS FEEL LIKE PINPRICKS AGAINST KATCHINTITE! ENOUGH OF THESE IRRITATING, SORRY EXCUSES FOR ATTACKS! I SAID, ENOUGH!!
Gas powered up, the aura blasting Bardock back
Gas: I cannot afford to waste more time on you. You wouldn't mind if I unleashed a bit more of my inner nature, would you?
Bardock panted heavily, looking on in shock

Monaito ran to his hut, placing the young Granolah on his bed. He reached into a vase and pulled out the Dragon Balls.
Monaito: Using the Dragon Balls for our own benefit is forbidden. But it should be okay if my wish helps someone from another planet.

Bardock reeled back in pain as Gas sucker-punched him in the face.
Bardock: D-dammit! So your kind can adjust the power levels, huh?
Gas: Oh, this is far from the full extent of my power slumbering within me. I suppose you've lost the will to fight back
Bardock: You don't know a damn thing about my kind. Nothing gets my blood pumping like a powerful foe!
Gas: ENOUGH!
Gas lunged forward, driving his boot into the stomach of Bardock. Bardock crashed into a small hill as a giant blue dragon emerged in the distance

Monaito: Takkarapto. Tottoronbo. PUPIRITTO PARO!
The Eternal Dragon Toronbo emerged from the two Dragon Balls.
Toronbo: State your wish. If it is within my power, your single wish is my command.
Monaito: SEND BARDOCK BACK TO HIS HOME PLANET!

Bardock continued fighting Gas as he heard a voice in his head
Toronbo: Hear me, Bardock. It is Monaito's wish that I should transport you to your home planet, Vegeta.
Bardock: W-who's voice is this?!
Toronbo: I am the wish-granting dragon known as Toronbo. I cannot transport you home without your consent. Do you agree with this?
Bardock: HELL NO! A SAIYAN WOULD RATHER DIE THAN RUN AWAY FROM AN ENEMY!
Bardock charged forward, attempting to punch Gas, but Gas punted Bardock high in the air.
Bardock: Dammit!
Monaito: Listen, Bardock!
Bardock: So it's you this time, Monaito? I sure wish you wouldn't put voices in my head...
Monaito: You showed real moral fiber saving us back there and that was more than enough. I have no doubt the kindness in your heart will save someone else someday. You have a family, Bardock, you must live!
Bardock: Sorry, pal, but I don't take orders from anyone! And I'm not leaving this place until I've beaten this scrawny bastard!
Monaito: What is it gonna take to make you see reason?! Fine... then tell me! Is there another wish I could make for you?! Anything at all?! I just wish to repay your kindness.
Bardock: You making a wish on a shooting star or something? But sure. I'd wish that my kids end up thriving, and their kids after them, and their kids, and so on. I want my bloodline to prosper into the very distant future.

Monaito was in shock but nodded, knowing trying to reason with Bardock further was pointless
Monaito: Bardock wishes for his bloodline to prosper for generations to come. Eternal Dragon Toronbo, please grant his wish!
Toronbo's eyes glowed and after a few moments, the wish was granted
Toronbo: Your wish has been granted, farewell.
Toronbo disappeared and the Dragon Balls scattered.
Monaito: Yeah, he has the right idea. A wish is a way to create hope for the future. Selfish wishes can only bring about doom and I was about to make a grave mistake.
Monaito looked at the young Granolah
Monaito: I'm meant to protect what hope we've got left with all I've got.

Gas: HRAAH!
Bardock took another blast from Gas dead on. Bardock bounced along the ground over and over, crashing into a tree
Bardock: HUH?!
Bardock opened his eyes only to be met with a barrage of blasts. Bardock fell to the ground, barely holding onto consciousness.
Gas: You've overstayed your welcome!
Gas grabbed Bardock's tail and slammed him into the ground over and over
Gas: PUNY SAIYAN!
Gas ripped off Bardock's tail as he kicked him into a boulder nearby
Gas: No more giant monke form for you anymore! It's over, Saiyan. Prepare to die.
Gas summoned a spear and threw it at Bardock. Bardock closed his eyes, preparing for the spear to connect, but he heard the shout of Monaito, who jumped in the way of the spear, taking it through the shoulder.
Bardock: W-why would you..?!
Monaito: Sorry about before, I had your wish granted. I am ready to protect Granolah, no matter what. So, do me a favor... and win this for us, Bardock.
Gas: At every turn, you two insist on disrupting my work!
Gas erupted with power, charging at Bardock and Monaito
Bardock: DODGE!!
Bardock jumped in front of Monaito, taking the hit as Monaito crashed into another boulder
Bardock: MONAITO!!!
Gas grabbed Bardock by his throat
Gas: THE NAMEKIAN YOU SOUGHT TO PROTECT IS GONE! AND I WILL SOON TRACK DOWN AND KILL THE CHILD! AS YOU DIE, KNOW YOU FAILED TO PROTECT ANYONE!

Bardock: That's not your call to make... AND I'M NOT DYING BEFORE I'VE BEATEN YOU!
Bardock charged up a powerful attack and pressed it against, causing it to explode.
Gas: Clever Monke!
The cover of smoke gave Bardock the opening to attack Gas. Bardock landed a few decent punches before punting Gas.
Gas: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO ACHIEVE?! WHY FIGHT A BATTLE YOU CAN'T WIN?! IS THIS ATTONEMENT AS YOU FACE DEATH?! ARE YOU ATONING FOR THE SINS OF ALL SAIYANS BY PROTECTING THE CHILD?!
Bardock: Nope.
Gas: REVENGE THEN? GIVING INTO YOUR RAGE OVER US KILLING THE NAMEKIAN AND THE CEREALIAN WOMAN?!
Bardock: Nada.
Gas: THEN WHY?! WHY FIGHT?! WHAT IS RUNNING THROUGH YOUR SKULL AS YOU DO BATTLE?!
Bardock powered up beyond his normal limits, blocking Gas' punch
Bardock: Isn't it obvious by now?! In a life-and-death battle, what sorta idiot would think about anything else besides victory?!
Bardock drove his fist into Gas' abdomen
Bardock: I FIGHT WHEN THERE'S AN ENEMY I WANNA BEAT DOWN! NOTHING MORE TO IT!
Bardock blasted Gas into a nearby mountain
Gas: H-HOW ARE YOU DOING THIS?! YOU SAIYANS HAVE NO ASCENDED STATES BESIDES THE GREAT APE!
Bardock: You're ignorant and that's my fault? Nah. See, you're not dealing with the average Saiyan warrior, Gas. We Saiyans have a way of evolving and growing every time we push past our limits.
Gas: THAT'S ABSURD! I REPRESENT A LIMIT THAT NO LOWLY SAIYAN CAN SURPASS! IT CANNOT BE!!
Bardock and Gas collided in mid-air, Bardock gaining the upper hand
Bardock: I'M ENDING THIS! FINAL SPIRIT CANNON!
Bardock's signature move connected with Gas, knocking the Heeter out cold. Bardock panted heavily before collapsing on the ground. Elec landed next to the unconscious Gas
Elec: I didn't think you'd lose control after unleashing yourself. A real shame. We'll have to double down on training.
Bardock: Ugh...
Elec: Still kicking, I see.
Bardock: I-I thought... you were loyal to Frieza...
Elec: When it comes to business, there's the hand you show and the hand you don't. Speaking of, your kind doesn't even know what Frieza is really planning, right?
Bardock: Huh?
Elec: You Saiyans are gullible saps. While you're in a daze playing catch up, don't be surprised if a meteor drops on your heads
Bardock: What're you saying?
Elec didn't answer, simply pulling out his blaster and shooting Bardock in the shoulder.
Bardock: GAAAH!
Bardock went tumbling off the cliff, falling into the forest below, his scouter flying off and landing nearby, though cracking. Monaito, still alive, emerged from the destroyed boulder, walking over to Bardock
Monaito: Bardock! Are you still alive?
Bardock: I-I'd... ask you the same thing, Monaito...
Monaito: Takes more than that to put a Namekian down.
Bardock: You don't say? Good... I take it the Cerealian kid is alright?
Monaito: Granolah is safe. Those thugs left us for dead and headed off. You won the battle, Bardock!
