You sat in your bedroom of your new house with your little sister who is 10 years younger than you listening to nirvana unplugged album it was the third track of the vinyl your seven year old sister singing along
"Can we let tate sit with us?" She asked making you confused at the little girl snuggled to your side "who's tate?" You asked "my friend" she shrugged making you laugh
"You know kendall I had an imaginary friend as well" you chuckled she looked at you with a grumpy face "he's not imaginary" she huffed "Okay well tell him to come in" you said not even thinking anything about it you were home alone as your parents were out for the night
You heard footsteps coming towards your room then a boy around your age walking inside making you freeze "see I told you" kendall said
"Who are you" you asked in fear confused "I'm tate, I'm dead" he said coming closer to you "how did you get in here" you asked pennyroyal tea now playing
"Oh I love this song" tate said "oh yeah eh I lived here in the 90s and died in this room" he said "okay? Prove it" you said tate sighed telling you and your sister to follow him
You both got to the front door tate walked out then vanished "told you" a voice behind you said it was tate
"I can't lie that's cool" you laughed going back to your room
You and tate talked about nirvana and your interests your little sister joining in "you a nirvana fan kendall?" Tate asked kendall nodded her head "yeah I love every song my big sister loves I want to be just like her" she beamed making you smile
Even though there's a ten year age difference to you and your sister you were best friends "kendall go put another record on please" you asked she nodded skimming through your record collection picking out one she knew you loved
Humbug by the arctic monkeys "who are they" tate asked making you gasp "oh my god you don't know arctic monkeys?" Your sister said "never heard of them" tate shrugged "you sit here and listen" you laughed
"They're good" tate nodded you and your sister got up and danced through the song 'pretty visitors' tate joined in all laughing
Soon enough your sister was tired so you took her to bed tucking her in before going back to your room to sit with tate "you know it's good to have someone my age around here" you said plopping yourself down on the bed
"Is there any other ghosts here?" You asked turning to tate who was scanning through your records "Yeah some of them are alright some just complete jerks" he shrugged
"How did you die I mean your so young" you asked tate froze "erm I'll be honest with you a school shooting the cops shot me down in this room" he said "oh god tate" you said
"Hey wanna order food I'm starving" you asked changing the subject "Sure want you in the mood for" he asked "McDonald's they deliver now" you said tate nodded
Once the food came you went to get it closing the door to see someone else there "don't trust him" she said "Who tate why" you asked "did he tell you what he did" she asked you nodded "yes and I'm not bothered it's in the past nothing I can do" you said walking past her and into your room
"Who's the chick?" You asked tate "oh violet my ex" he shrugged "she told me not to trust you I told her I'm not bothered about your past" you said
Tate nodded looking sad
"Hey tate I don't care about your past okay I'd rather know who you are right now you wouldn't want to know my past I keep hidden from everyone especially kendall" you said placing the food down on the bed taking his hand in yours
"You really mean that" he asked "of course I don't I know I just met you but come on I can tell we're going to be good friends not everyday you meet someone with the same with the exact same interests as you" you joked making him smile
"And if you ever feel sad you can come to me" you added giving him a hug as he cried into your chest "you know you're the only person who has fully accepted me" he said
You felt bad for him despite his past you did think he was a great guy you couldn't lie he's very attractive
He looked up at you with red eyes then to your lips back and forth before pressing his lips on yours
His lips were soft against yours, you placed a hand on his cheek before pulling away "foods getting cold" you both laughed
