Chapter 5
Y/N's POV:
It's already been a week and I already texted my grandfather that I was staying over at someone else's house. He said it was fine but I do I have to meet my big brother since he is coming back from Malaysia.
"Y/N, have you seen the broom?" Soo-Ho asked. I grabbed the broom from the cupboard and threw it at him.
"Thanks." I returned to the counter and waited for customers. It was so boring and tiring since we had school right after this. In a blink of an eye, our shift was over and went to school.
When I arrived I saw Nabi wearing her uniform and surrounded by a bunch of girls.
"Oh, hi Y/N!" Nabi waved at me and the other girls just ignored me and continued talking. I still waved back.
"Honestly Nabi, why would you hang out with Y/N? She is basically a boy at this point." The other girls laughed.
"Well, she sits next to me so and I wanted to make as much friends as I can." Nabi said. Good reason. Then one of the girls said something in Nabi's ear, making her turn to me with a weird expression. They told them about my parents didn't they? They do that to every new person in school so that I don't have anyone by my side.
"Okay every one settle down, you know that today we have a mock exam right?" The teacher said and everyone groaned.
"Come on now, pass these papers around and I'll tell you when to start." The teacher said while giving out the first pack to the first row.
"You now begin." The teacher said. I found almost every question easy,except the last one. If I didn't get this one right grandfather will not be proud of me, or my brother. I took a risky guess and hoped it was right.
"Okay, pens down and pass them to me. I don't trust you guys to mark them yourself." The teacher said.
"Jeez, I totally failed that one." Ye-na bragged. The other girls agreed.
"Hey Y/N, how did you do?" Nabi asked. I looked at her then to the other girls and back at her.
"You know if you want to stay popular and keep your parents happy, you have to stop talking to me. Or your reputation will fall." I said. Nabi thought about it for a second and went over to the other girls.
"I knew it.." I said to myself while putting my head down.
"Okay, so how did you do?" I looked up and it was Nabi. I was confused.
"What?" I raised a brow.
"How did you do on the test?" She said again.
"Oh, weren't you going over to the girls? To keep your reputation stable?" I questioned.
"I don't care about my reputation. It's only high school." I was relieved. Someone that actually cares.
"Sooo, how did you do on the test. I asked so many times and you still didn't answer." Nabi complained.
"I did alright, never thought it could be that easy. Except the last question. That was the hardest one." I said as she nodded.
•End of the day•
"Bye Nabi." I said while Nabi went her way home.
"Hi, Soo-Ho. Let's go to the restaurant before we're late." I smile at Soo-Ho.
"Okay, let's go. Also, there is a sale at the restaurant so there will be a lot of customers." Soo-Ho said while running to the restaurant. I just nodded.
When we arrived there was a big line forming, almost reaching to the next street. We both looked at each other and prepared for hell.
•After experiencing hell•
"Jeez I can't believe that many people would go crazy over some sale." I said to Soo-Ho. He nodded. I then got a text from my grandfather.
Grandfather
Come home
Your brother is here say hi
Bring your boyfriend of yours as well.
I blushed at the last text message.
"Ooo~ who is your boyfriend?" Soo-Ho teased. I punched him on the arm lightly and blushed even harder.
"I mean, Shi-Eun would be home by now." Soo-Ho said while checking his watch.
"Shi-Eun isn't my boyfriend!" I argued. Soo-Ho wasn't convinced.
"Really? The way you two have been looking at each other and talking to each other is really obvious. It makes me feel like a third wheel." He said while grabbing his chest dramatically.
"Oh, shut up." I said again.
"Tell me how your brother reacts to your boyfriend. See you later!" Soo-Ho said while running to school so I don't kill him. I could feel my face heating up.
"Y/N!" I turned around and it was Shi-Eun.
"Oh, Shi-Eun. I didn't know you were here. I thought you would be home by now." I said while I waited for Shi-Eun to catch up to me.
"Well, I had to visit Young-bin in the hospital since..I broke his nose." He said quietly. I paused to process what he said.
"I'm sorry, broke his nose." I questioned. He nodded.
"Eyyy well done! So what happened?" I said while patting his back.
"Uhm, he's moving to a new school and I got away with it." I clapped my hands to show my support and he laughed a bit.
"Well done! But how did you get away with it? I mean breaking someone's nose is seriously a major issue in school." I said.
"He drugged me while I was doing my mock exam." Shi-Eun said bluntly.
"Now that's more serious." I pointed out.
"It's a good thing that he goes to a different school now. Oh, I remembered something. Can you come with me to meet my brother? My grandfather thinks that you are still my boyfriend." Shi-Eun blushed a bit.
"Are you fine with that? I'll explain everything to my grandfather and-" before I could finish a text came through my phone.
Jun-so
I heard from grandfather that you have a boyfriend.
Good for you.
If he hurts you I'll kill him.
Can't wait to meet him. 👍
"Well, we're fucked." I said. Shi-Eun tilted his head. I showed him the message and he understood.
"It's okay, I'll pretend for a bit. If that fine with you." Shi-Eun said while we waited for the elevator.
"I mean it's okay with me also. But we have to pretend to break up too but my brother said he'll kill you if we do." I started to think of every possible scenario that we could do without pretending to date and there was only one. Disappoint my grandfather and brother.
"It's fine, right now it's urgent so we'll have to pretend." I nodded and went up to my apartment. My hands were shaking. I guess Shi-Eun noticed because he held it while looking away but I saw a little bit of pink on the corner of his ear. It was very cute.
"Okay, let's go." I said while stepping out of the elevator. I opened the door to reveal my grandfather and brother standing, waiting for me to get home. I then realised me and Shi-Eun was still holding hands.
"Y/N, I have seen you in ages! And is this your boyfriend?" Jun-so said.

Thank you guys for reading another chapter of this cringe book and I'm sorry for not updating sooner, I had too many plans with my family. But will try to do it more often but school started next Tuesday and will probably be more busy, tests lol. But please enjoy the series for now.
