As i opened my eyes all i saw darkness, nothing but darkness. I blinked a couple of times as my eyes gained focus, i was in a box, a box with more boxes in. I stood up, the box was moving upwards at a fast pace, i held onto the the sides trying to not to fall since my legs felt weak. "H-HELLO.." I tried shouting but i started having a coughing fit. I looked around trying to find something that could explain why im here. I spotted letter on this box. 'WCKD' those letter felt familiar but it still didnt help me remeber why im here, well i couldnt actually remember anything. I started getting frustared i knew nothing not my name, age, where i came from and worst i dont even know where i am.
All of a sudden the box jolted at a stop, i fell back onto the floor. I looked up and these doors opened and a blinding light emerged. I covered my eyes and moved to the corner of the box. I heard voices come from above, i removed my head and saw a bunch of people, well actully a bunch of boys.
"Go down there Gally" One of the boys said. One jumped down which i assumed was Gally, He walked towards me and just stared at me in complete shock. "It's a girl" He sounded suprised and crounched down in front of me. Murmers were heard from above.
"No way really" I said looking at him with a straight face. He gave me a stern look. A thud came from behind him, another guy jumped down. "Hey there greenie" He was british. He came closer while Gally guy moved away. He reached his hand out, i was hesistant but this floor was hurting my arse so i grabbed his hand and he pulled me up. " Where am i" i let go of his hand and look anyway but his eyes. "Lets get you out of here before i explain anything" he climbs out of the box as the boys above just stare at me. Gally comes close to me and grabs my waist and lifts me out of the box "thanks" i whisper as i stand, The other boys make space as i look around.
There were giantic grey walls surronding the place and there were 4 huge opening on each wall. The was quite small but it was so bloody green. "Alright back to work now" I hear the British guy shout. All the other boys including Gally walked away but kept whispering and glancing towards me. I turn back to the british guy and hes already looking at me. " So greenie i'm Newt and this is the Glade" he puts his hand out, i grab it and shake it. "The Glade?" i pull my hand back and just stare at him. "It what we call this place" he states and looks around, i look around and see all the other guys around doing stuff or just talking. "What is this place" I look back at him. " We dont know, like you we dont know anything about ourselves or how we got here" He looks at me and nods his head to signail me to walk with me. "How do you remember your name?" i start walking after him. " We all remember after a day or two so dont worry" he looks at me and gives me a reassuring smile.
"So this is the new Greenie" I turn to see a guy walking towards me and newt. "I'm Alby" He reaches his hand out, i shake it while muttering a small hi. Newt comes behind me and whispers " He's the leader" I look at Alby while he just smile. " So newt is second in command, so if you need anything or something happens and you can not find me, go to newt" I nod and smile at newt. "Newt please give Greenie here the rest of the tour and they will be staying in the spare room in homesteed" Newt nods and Alby glances at me before walking away towards a group of boys.

Me and Newt are standing by homesteed as he finishes the tour. "And thats everything" I look towards one of the big doors in the walls, Newt notices " Let me tell you something Greenie" I look at him and see's he has a serious face on. " Under no circumstance does anyone go beyound those doors so that means you" he looks me dead in the eyes. "Whats in there" i glance back towards it."Theres a maze and it has these creatures that are very dangourus, so promise me you wont go in" I nod at him, I knew i was curious about the maze but do i really want to go in there and go near those apprant creatures. As i look back towards the maze i see two figures running out of it " i thought you said no one is aloud to go into the maze" i see newt look at the figures that are now running towards the Deadheads. "Those people are runners, they are the only ones aloud in the maze" he says. " Runners?" I look at him confused why would anyone wanna go in there" Thats their job, they run the maze to try and to find a way out of here" our eyes follow the two runner as they disappear into the trees.
"Do i get a job?" I look at him. "Yes everyone has to a job, but you get to try out every job and then all the keepers decide what you do" He says. "Alright since we are done with the tour let me show you your rooms". He starts walking to homesteed as i trail behind still getting stares from the other boys who are still confused why a girl was sent up. As we walk up stairs there is a long corrider with abunch of doors on each side, He walks to the last one and opens it letting me walk in first. The room is quite small with a matress and a small table desk next to it. "This rooms is sometimes used for people who are badly injured but since you are the only girl we decided it to give it to you" He smiled at me from the doorway. " Thanks" I smile as i look at him. "Tea is going to be soon, so do you want to stay here or do you wanna come with me"He asks. "I think ill just stay here" I sit down on the matress." Alright ill come get you when its time" He walks closes the door while smiling.
I stay sitting on the matress thinking, thinking about why im here, what am i doing here and who i am. I remember the letter from the box 'WCKD' they seems so familiar to me but i just cant remember everything seems like i didnt have a life before i woke up in the box. Newt said that the 'creator' that they like to call them sends up a new greenie every month. No one knows why, but everyone questions it i mean who wouldnt, waking up in a random box and then finding out you know nothing and your stuck in this box shape place surronded by a maze full of creature who can kill you.
The ground starts shaking, I stand up and wak to the window. The maze doors are moving, their closing, "What the actually fuck" I speak to myself, That was strange.

After a bit Newt came and told it was tea time so we walked to the kitchen to pick our food as we were waiting in line i looked around and saw everyone talking and laughing with their friends and just having a good time as if they werent trapped here. When it was my turn the cook who name i found out was frypan gave me a plate " Here you go Greenie hope you enjoy" He smiled at me " Thanks" I walked with Newt, he sat down and i down next to him.
I take a bit of the food and it taste really good. " Its good isnt it" I look and see Newt smiling at me." Mhm" i muffle. " Yeah Fry food are good, well some of them" He says before eating again. Before i could say anything someone sits down oppiste me. " So your the new Greenie huh" I look forward to see a asian guy there, he has a smirk on his face. "Yeah" i say before taking another bite. "Well im Minho". He takes a bite of the food, "He's the runner from earlier" Newt whispers to me, so he's the person i saw earlier. Now that i look at him he does like well fit and good looking, i didnt realise i was staring till i saw him looking at me. I look down at the food and i heard him chuckle. " I know im good-looking". Bit confident, i hear Newt laugh so i gave him a side glance. " Their not much of a talker" Newt says while still laughing. "Most Greenies are like that on their first day" Minho says looking at me.
I contunie eating and listening as Minho and Newt talk and this other runner called Ben joined us not that long before but he seems chill. I start joining their converstaions a bit more and found that Minho has been in the Glade for about 2 years and has been a runner for a long time, Ben and Newt didnt say when they first came ." Alright imma go now, Ill see you at the Bonfire Greenie" Ben picks up his plate and walks off to the kitchen. "Bonfire?" i ask looking at Newt and Minho. "Every time a new Greenie comes we have a bonfire to celebrate" Newt says. " Its like a tradition" Minho adds on finishing his plate. " Oh okay" I murmur. "Alright since we are all finish do you guys wanna help me finish unboxing everything we got " Newt stands up and grabs his plate and mine." Sure" Minho picks his plate up "You coming Greenie" He adds. I stand up and walk with Minho and Newt to the kitchen, I say thanks to Frypan and follow them to the boxes.
As we are unpacking the boxes i notice the letters again, I touch them with my hands still trying to rememeber anything about me. Minho notice " You alright Greenie?" He asks stopping what he was doing. " Yeah" I pull my hand back and continue unpacking them. Minho shares a look with Newt as they make eye contact.
------------------------------------------------------At the Bonfire -------------------------------------------------------
I watch as Newt and Alby and some other Gladers as they call themselves throw fire onto the massive bundle of sticks in the middle, I smile as Newt turns to me smiling. He walks away to do something. I watch as the rest of the that group disbands and walks in different directions. I havent been here for long but i feel like ive met some of these people before espically Newt and Minho, maybe we all uses to know eachother before we forgot everything and came here.
As i'm sitting on a log by myself watching Gally pushing kids out of a circle, i found it quite funny when one guy nearly threw him out and he got quite mad. Newt returns and hands me suspicous looking drink. "Drink this" He takes a sip of his own. I smell it and gag mentally and physically, I take a sip and imeddiatly spit it out. " What the bloody hell is that". Newt laughed "Its Gally special recipe, but trust me you will get use to it". He takes another sip and i just pull the most disgusted face i could. " You sure it isnt piss right". Newt just laughes.
" So remember your name yet" Newt asked looking around. "Not yet" I swirl the cup around making a torondo in the drink. "Hey Newt what are those letters on the boxes?" I look at him, He looks back at me" We dont really know they come on everything we get sent up to us, we assume its the creators." He takes another sip of the suspicious drink. "Oh okay" I look down, I still dont know why those letters are so familiar to me, my train of thoughts get interrupted when i hear loud kinda of screeches come from instead the maze, Everyone goes silent and just stares from where it came from. " What the fuck was that" I stand up and look at Newt. "That was a griever" Newt stand up, anaother sound comes from the maze it sounds like something heavy moving. " And that was the maze, It moves every night like clockwork." He looks at me. " Thats why being a runner is so dangerous, you dont come back before the doors close u get trapped out there overnight, and no one survives in the maze at night" He looks me dead in the eyes as he spoke.
I stare at him in shocked. " Anyway how about i go introduce you to the other?" He starts walking away. I follow behind him as we walk pass a group of people laughing. "That person over there is Winston hes the keeper of the slicers" He points to Winston. We continue walking around as he introduces me to people and what their job is, After a while people started leaving and going to sleep. Me and Newt start walking to homesteed and up the stairs to our rooms, Newt walks to my room with me as i open the door he starts talking. " So enjoy your first day" He leans on the door fame, "Appart from having no memory, and being the only girl it was alright." I smile as he chuckles. "Well you better get some sleep, you'll be trying jobs in the morning" He gets off the door fame and starts walking away. I close the door and go sit on the matress, I lay down and go under the cover.
