the child that routinely sits on the grave of my innocence, dusts themselves off and exits state right.
there is a new grave to attend to

freshly plucked forget-me-nots lay atop
a freshly dug grave.
the air smells of dirt and rain.

the child places themselves down. crisscrossed for what they hope is the last time. the grave site littered with ghost footprints inches large.
