I took my daggers out and slowly opened the door, going toward the only room where some kind of voices could be heard

" Mm" I heard from the other side of the door

Alea POV
Today is finally the day when my boyfriend Arthur and his adoptive daughter Sylvie will arrive in Elenoir
I took some time off of my work as a Royal guard so I could spend some time with them
After I came back from work last night I spent most of my time tidying around the house, so now all that is left to do is prepare a launch
I heard from Arty that Sylvie likes to eat meat the most so now I am preparing steaks with some traditional Elven salads

Now it's about 12, so I still had some time before they arrive
Arty said that they should be here by 2 pm, so I still had some time on hands

" Coming" I shouted cheerfully while heading there
I stopped by the mirror to make sure that I looked good. I fixed my bangs and made sure that the makeup I am wearing is properly covering the bruise that Pier left
After making sure that everything is okay, I went to the door and opened them
Before me stood Arthur and a little girl that didn't look like she was more than five
She had wheat blonde hair and golden eyes, just like Arthur
The only thing about her appearance that differed from Arthur's was the fact that two onyx-black horns were coming out of her head
" Please come in " I said with a smile
Once they were inside, I closed the door and jumped on Arthur, kissing him like I didn't see him for decades- it was actually only two weeks, but that's the same thing-, and he kissed me back with even more passion than when we parted ways in Beast Glades
After we finished our kiss, we just stood there for a moment, hugging each other tightly

We have eaten our launch and later played some games before Sylvie became too tired and fell asleep
We took her to the main bedroom where we put her in bed
I didn't expect the two of us to get along this well this fast. In the beginning, she was really shy, but as time went by she became much more relaxed so by the time she fell asleep we were already friends
" She was really excited to meet you, you know? " Arthur said
I looked at him for a moment, completely surprised by the fact

" Yeah, she couldn't even sleep last night" he said with a chuckle
