Charlie's POV
Patricia and I were busy searching upstairs, we couldn't find KT anywhere.
Charlie" You find her"
Patricia" Nope"
Charlie" She isn't in our room"
Patricia" Come on let's go tell the boys"
Charlie" She's not upstairs, she's left her phone too"
Patricia" Hey, look KT's key to the crypt"
Charlie"Should we be worried?"
The rest of the house then push open the door and start screaming Anubis! Anubis! Anubis! Anubis! Anubis!.
Victor" Would you keep that racket down?"
Joy" But Victor, we won"
Victor"I don't care, take it into the living room"
Alfie then rushes in, I don't know where he has been.
Fabian" Alfie, where have you been?"
Alfie" Why? What's wrong?"
Eddie" We can't find KT"
Alfie" She's probably in the cellar and didn't want to come up because everyone's here"
Eddie" No, we checked, she's not there"
Patricia" What if someone's taken her?"
She then looks at Eddie and I.
Patricia" The same person who trapped you two"
Eddie" Okay, look, let's get out of our sports kit meet back here"
I follow Patricia back upstairs as we go to get changed. After I am changed I meet Patricia on the landing.
Charlie" Do you think it could be the same person who trapped Eddie and me?"
Patricia" Let's hope not, come on let's go"
We hurry downstairs and all rush to the crypt.
Alfie" Hello?"
Eddie" Shh!
Charlie" KT? KT"
Fabian" She's not here, is she?"
Charlie" No"
Fabian" Where then?"
Alfie" Maybe she did find the secret room"
Fabian" What? Oh, how do you suppose she did that? Oh, maybe she discovered teleportation"
Alfie" Or just a door"
I pat Alfie's shoulder
Fabian" Well, we better check the Gatehouse"
Patricia"Hope she's not there, that place is all kinds of wrong"
Charlie" I very much agree with you there Patricia"
I very reluctantly follow the others to The Gatehouse, we knew we had to be more careful than ever, we had yet to run into Frobisher but there was first time for everything. We then heard voices and footsteps.
Eddie" Go, Go, Go!"
Charlie" It's the door, It's the door!"
We all rush into the lift and Eddie just about slips through.
Eddie" What'd you grab the lever for?"
Patricia"I just panicked"
We start to ascend upwards and my stomach drops, lifts make me feel weird, there was also the chance Frobisher being on the other side. The doors ping open and we all see Victor. I quickly push the lever down and we start descending. When the lift pings open again, we see no one is there, so we all rush out as quick as possible. We arrive back at the house out of breath.
Charlie" Well that was eventful wasn't it"
Eddie" You think KT was there?"
Fabian" No, didn't seem to be any sign of her"
Charlie" But what was Victor doing?"
Alfie" You think he and Miss Denby are dating, or something worse?"
Eddie" Definitely something worse"
Patricia" If she's not there, then where?"
Charlie" Okay, I mean, at this rate, we need a bloodhound to find her"
We all then look at the dog laying on Joy and Patricia's room.
Eddie"Or a flea-bitten mutt"
Fabian rushes in.
Fabian" Hey, um, Joy, where's Mara?"
Joy" Out with her parents"
Fabian" Do you think she would mind if we borrowed Letdown for a minute?"
Joy"I guess not, but please be careful with him. She will kill me if anything happened to him"
Fabian" Yeah, course, oh, smells nice"
Joy" Like flowers"
After retrieving a piece of clothing from our room. We follow Letdown downstairs, he pulls Fabian along quite fast as he picks up KT's scent. Fabian gives him another whiff but at this moment Victor walks in.
Victor" What is that? Pets are not permitted at Anubis House"
Alfie" See it's actually not a pet, it's Mara's inheritance"
Victor" Give it to me"
Fabian reluctantly hands him over.
Victor" Now go to your rooms, all of you, now"
Fabian" Yeah, but we"
Victor" I said now!"
Eddie" Patricia, Charlie cover for KT until we can find her"
Patricia" Yeah"
Alfie" What are you gonna do to it?"
Victor" Have it stuffed"
That evening I got up to use toilet but since someone was in ours and I really needed to go, I quietly made my way downstairs to the boys bathroom which was empty. I was just heading back upstairs when I heard screaming, that sounded like KT. I hurry out bumping into Fabian and Eddie.
Charlie" Did you hear that?"
Eddie" Yeah, it sounded like KT"
We all head towards the sound and we see KT under the coat cupboard.
Eddie" KT?"
KT" Down here"
KT" Am I glad to see you guys"
Fabian" You found the secret room"
Twins" Way to go, KT"
KT" Guys, a little help, get me out of here"
Eddie" Oh, yeah, I'll grab a ladder"
Charlie" How did you get down there?"
KT" Last thing I remember, I was going to get the blueprint"
Eddie arrives back with a ladder.
Charlie" All right, be careful, we don't want to wake Victor"
Fabian" Careful"
Eddie slowly passes the ladder down to her but it ends up clattering.
Eddie" Shoot"
We manage to get KT up from the cellar and she thanks us, then Victor catches us and we all scarper to our rooms.
The next morning we are all sat at the breakfast table and KT is explaining what she saw in the secret room.
Charlie" Frobisher?"
KT" It looked like him"
Eddie" And he spoke, what did he say?"
KT" He said, "stop""
Eddie" Stop?"
Alfie" See I, for one, am willing to take that advice"
Patricia" And then he just he just disappeared?"
KT" No, I disappeared, I pushed up against the back wall until The Twins and Fabian showed up, he just seemed to disappear into the darkness"
Eddie" You okay to go back in?"
I watch as Eddie places a hand on KT's shoulder, Patricia looking less than impressed.
KT" With you guys? Yeah"
Fabian" After school"
KT" Before"
Joy then enters the room.
Joy"Uh, hello, people, where's Letdown? Mara's gonna kill me"
Charlie"Um about that,Uh, Victor took him"
Mara" What? How could you? I love that dog"
Mara now very upset leaves the room. We all sigh as we finish up our breakfast and head down to the secret room via the coat cupboard. Just as KT had said the figure turns around and it turns out to be a dummy and not the real Frobisher.

Heed this message in the event I have awoken and am under control of the God Ammit, herein, you will find the information necessary to reverse my betrayal. Do not confront me. And please, forgive me for my actions.
Fabian" That's not Frobisher"
Charlie" We can see that Fabian, it's a wax man"
Fabian" It's a recording, Wow"
Patricia"Well, that explains why he's not so nice anymore"
KT"My great-grandpa, he would hate what he's become"
Eddie" What's with the dummy? He couldn't just put it in a note?"
Fabian" I've seen pictures of this"
Charlie" Me too, Jason took me to museums when I was younger, it was a bit creepy to be honest for a 8 year old"
Fabian" Charlie's right, it's from a museum that celebrated his expeditions back in his day, he must have adapted it"
Eddie" This man really knew how to get people's attention"
KT"No one was supposed to find this place, he must have really thought his original plan would work out"
Eddie" Look at this stuff, It's gonna take forever to get through it"
I then notice an old device on the floor, covered in dust like everything else.
Charlie" Hey, Fabian look"
He takes it from me.
KT" What's that?"
Fabian" It plays recordings, it doesn't work though"
Alfie" Maybe it's out of batteries"
Fabian and I send Alfie a weird look, was he serious.
Patricia" Guys, I hate to be a killjoy, but we need to get back to school"
Eddie" Got plenty to read anyway"
He holds up a very old book, that looks like it is on the verge of falling apart. We exit the cellar and make our way back to school.
Eddie" It says here "Ammit was known as The Devourer of souls"
Alfie" So not a nice guy"
Charlie" Well, girl, actually"
Eddie" She was at Anubis's side in the Hall of Two Truths in the Egyptian Underworld"
Eddie then flips a page over and we see her holding up a person with their heart being wrenched out. We all cringe at the thought.
KT" Ewe"
Eddie" Oh! Oh, she's known as the Eater of Hearts, she would devour the heart of a person deemed impure, their soul would wander restless forever. Unable to complete their voyage to immortality"
Alfie"Wait, so she was like a Judge?"
Eddie" More like an executioner, however, Ammit became angry and grew frustrated with the God Anubis.She considered herself Anubis's equal.And wanted more than just the impure hearts of the dead"
Alfie"Got too big for her boots"
Eddie" Yeah"
Eddie then turns over another page.
Eddie" Ammit's dark ambition was to cross into the human realm, and claim the hearts of the living"
Charlie" This is disgusting"
Patricia" Charlie is right, I really don't like where this is going"
Eddie flips the page once again and it doesn't get any less gruesome.
Eddie" It is said that if Ammit were to ever succeed her strength and power would grow to make her equal to that of Osiris"
Charlie" God of all the underworld, this isn't good"
KT" Um, can you skip to the end or something? Maybe there's a happy ending"
Alfie" Yeah, are there any nice pictures in there?"
Eddie pulls the book back and turns over another page, it shows a photo of the sarcophgi that Eddie and I had seen in our vision and in person.
Alfie"That's nicer, right? That's not scary"
Charlie" I wouldn't be so sure about that, It says, "to cross over, Ammit must claim five human sinners", "who embody the greatest flaws of mankind".
Eddie" "Ammit will enter the mortal realm when all are taken".
Alfie" Okay, I was wrong,That's very scary, that's actually terrifying"
Fabian" Well, on the recording, Frobisher said he was now under the control of Ammit"
Eddie" He must be capturing sinners"
Denby then makes us all jump.
Miss Denby" Uh, why aren't you all in class?"
Eddie" Uh, we're going"
Eddie then grabs the book and we all hurriedly rush past Denby, I never want to be in a room with Denby alone, without my brother I always felt scared and like some part of me was missing like my childhood.
As I headed back to the house with my twin he was telling me about Patricia and how she had just flipped out. Lately him and Patricia had been on a rocky edge and nothing seemed to make it better.
Eddie" She told me she knew about the emails"
Charlie" What emails?"
Eddie" That's what I thought then I looked on my Macbook and there is a whole stream of made up conversation that I didn't write"
Charlie" Well, who did?"
Eddie" I don't know"
Once down in the cellar we all begin looking at again.
Eddie" Where's Patricia, there you are, where have you been?"
Patricia"Nowhere"
Eddie" Patricia, those messages I didn't write them"
Patricia" Look, forget it, I'm over us"
Eddie"I don't know how they got there"
Fabian and I were inspecting the phonograph when he finds something inside.
Fabian" Ah! I found out why it's not working, whatever powered this thing has perished over the years"
Alfie"Oh, so it was the batteries"
I exchange looks with Fabian who rolls his eyes.
Patricia" Oh, great, now we got to go looking for parts"
Eddie" Look, guys, let's just call it a night, Fabian, take a picture of the parts, we'll have a look for them online"
Patricia and KT headed upstairs to their room while I stayed with Fabian and my twin to look up things online. We searched before Victor shouted that we had to go to bed. I decided to stay in Fabian and Eddie's room to risk not getting caught by Victor who didn't seem his usual self. Something was definitely off.

So The Twins and Fabian finally find KT under the coat cupboard in the secret room. Charlie and Fabian find a phonograph, Sibuna loses Letdown and learn about Ammut the ruler of the underworld.
