" I j-just can't hold on anymore , * whimpers * I love you , Damien . "
End of flashback .
You don't say that to a man and do this , Pakeeza .
* sigh *
" I've gone through so much this past years but I can't seem to move on without you . " -
I close my eyes to restrain myself from holding her hand .
" But I have news , you know ... 1 , 2 , 3 ... I finally chose a name ! " - I whisper yell but the joy still present .
" you are looking at the new and improved Damien but now known as Rasheed . " -
" And no , I didn't convert because you said I had to , I actually researched , asked questions , went to conferences , sought assistance and had the best role model ever —- you . * sniff * and even though I'm gradually adjusting , I guess I now understand why you are so dedicated to your deen . * smiles sadly * you are not the only one who is going to be using Arabic now .
* wipes eyes * and oh , I've started learning the Holy Quran and I made sure to get the one with an English translation just like yours ." -
I get up from my seat to take the Holy Quran from my bag .
" I even asked your sister to teach me your favourite surah so I could recite it to you and after reading the translation I understood why. "
* sighs *
" I'm not going to give up on you , not now , not ever , remember that , Pakeeza . -
After wiping the tears , I clear my throat to begin ...
