Morgana spent her childhood in and out of foster homes, each one worse than the last. On her eighth birthday, she ran away and would have died from frostbite had it not been for the mysterious Henrik. From that day onwards, Morgana and Henrik were best friends, moving to and from foster homes together.
When Morgana turns 21, Henrik tells her about his past prior to their meeting. She encourages him to look into his past to find out how and why he is alive. They travel to Mystic Falls, where they discover that Henrik's siblings are alive and the oldest and most deadly vampires in existence.
Everything descends into chaos, especially when Morgana learns that soulmates are real and that hers are the Mikaelson siblings.
