I got discharged not long after my dad was forced to leave.
I pull my phone out of my pocket and call Bradley.
'Come on, pick up'
No answer. I call again.

I don't call him again.

I feel a little better but the walk is going to be very painful.

I open the door to my apartment.

I look at the clock it's 2am.

Really this long. I might as well get some shut eye for tomorrow it's going to be a long long time.
I'm halfway to my room when the doorbell goes off and I rush to the door.
'Bradley why on God's almighty earth are yo-' I open the door to see Hangman.
'Hangman what ar-'

'Alright then, Jake.' Hus nane feels weird on my tongue 'do you want to come in?'

I open the door to let him in. This day well, 2 days is weird.
'You can help yourself to a drink and that'

'Ok, enough with the bullshit Jake, why are you here?' I ask dreading to know the answer to my dreaded question.
'I just wanted to check on you, when your plane went down all I could think about is if you were ok and in the hospital I didn't want to talk to you with Rooster and Maverick in the room'
'What are you trying to say' I pause before saying 'Jake'
'I- What I am trying to say is' he floos his hands and sits down I do to.
'That- That I care for you' he stutters out.
'Jake-'
'No, Amy you don't understand, I care for you. I fucking care for you.'
'Jake, listen to me please' i get infront of him so he looks me in the eyes.
'I care for you but not in tha-'
'OH NO NO NO NO NO, Amy I meant as like a sister'
'Oh- well I care for you as a brother?' I speak out.
'Glad we got that done with, and what were you talking about when I was at the door'
'Oh it's a bit of a long story'

'I need sleep' I stare at him.
'Yeah, it is like' he pauses and looks at his watch '2:14 am'

He walks to the door and I follow.
'I'll see you in the air Amy'
'You too, Serisen'
'Last name basis, I am hurt, I am very much hurt' he slaps his hand to his chest, is that a male thing?

'Bye Jake' he walks off and I watch before closing the door and flopping on the couch not bothered to go to bed and fall straight into a nice warm sleep.
