"Stay in formation!" you yelled desperately as the Rebels, who you were commanding, pushing angrily against the Empire's Stormtroopers. You and the Empire were playing tug-of-war for the planet of Scarif. The Empire already had a strong hold here, but the Rebellion believed it could be taken, "Do not give in! We have them now!"
A scream interrupted you as your right hand man, a Duros named Celine, fell to the ground. You gasped and grabbed at her, but she was already dead before you could pull her to safety, "Keep standing strong!" you shouted; tears brimming your eyes as you looked down on your childhood friend; now dead.
No one was staying strong despite your command. A handful of your troops were still standing, and the rest were either running for their lives, or they were already dead. You realized too late that you should've retreated, and now you were all going to die.
Stormtroopers surrounded you; their blasters trained on your back and face. As they were about to fire, a man in black armour approached; his eyes slicing through you like daggers,
"Do not shoot her," the voice said, "That is one of the leaders of the Rebellion. We could use her."
The Stormtroopers nodded; their blasters still trained on you just incase you got any reckless ideas. You hadn't though. This was the end of the line. Your life was nothing now— it would consist of endless torture until you gave the Empire what they wanted, then you would be killed and discarded like garbage.
One of the Stormtroopers dug his hands into your armpits and pulled you from the sand below. You grunted at the blunt pain his fingers dealt into your skin. You were exhausted, hungry, and all around in pain. But the real pain hasn't even begun yet.
The rest of your troops had either fled or died, so there was no one around to help you escape the strong arms of the Empire. So, you just slumped over and allowed them to drag you to one of their facilities. Luckily, it was on Scarif and you didn't have to be dragged too far. Sand was getting into your socks which was irritating, so you were glad to get to this place quickly.
The man in the black armour followed silently. You could've sworn you recognized him from somewhere. He looked like an Imperial big shot, but his voice was uncannily familiar. You couldn't put your finger on it.
The Stormtroopers dragged you into a metal encased room, and tossed you into a metal chair with arm and leg straps. Yet again, you didn't fight as the enemy strapped you to the torture chair— you were composed and you weren't afraid. Thanks to the training you received in the Rebellion, you were prepared for this. You would never leak a single thing about the Rebels,
"Greetings, (Y/N) (L/N)," the same familiar voice from the man in black said, "I am Agent Kallus. It is an honour to meet you at last."
The name was also familiar, but you were uneducated. The thing that stuck out to you the most was his voice,
"Do I know you from somewhere?"
Agent Kallus stared blankly at you, "Are you serious?"
"As cancer," you responded while letting your eyes focus on his face, "I'm sure you're some big shot amongst the Imperials, but you're a nobody to someone like me. What do you do? The torture?"
Kallus chuckled once again and motioned for his guards to leave the room. They did without any sign of hesitation or defensiveness— showing the trusted his decisions and knew he knew what he was doing,
"My name is Alexsandr Kallus, and you are (Y/N) (L/N). I believe you and I can benefit greatly if you just listen to what I have to say."
You cocked your head, no expecting that response, "I'm not telling you anything, and I won't be listening to a word that comes out of your disgusting mouth, Agent."
Without another word, he walked up to the one camera in the room and shut it off. Yet again, you were shocked. He spun around and clasped his hands behind his back, "I have many names. Alexsandr, Agent... and one you might be familiar with."
You were waiting. Somehow, Agent Kallus had begun to intrigue you. Of course, this could be some interrogation ploy, and if it was, you wouldn't be fooled, so you were in guard. However, once Kallus unattached the security camera, your guard began to drop,
"You may also know me as Fulcrum."
Your jaw dropped to the floor immediately. There is no way this is true! Fulcrum is a big shot agent for the Empire? What does he have to lose in this world of power and control? Why risk it all for a dying Rebellion?
"I do not believe you in the slightest!" you spat, your face morphing into anger, "That is not a good tactic to get me to spill the Rebellion's plans! You've captured the wrong woman if that was your expectation!"
Kallus pulled a seat over and sat down, "I don't need to interrogate you because I already know all of the Rebel's plans. In two moons time, the Ghost Squadron is going to go to Lothal and attack the Imperials there. Half of the squad, the Lassat, and the two Jedi are going to take out the management in the radio tower, which would inevitably take the tower for the Rebels. The Twi'lek is the escape pilot, while the Mandalorian, you, and the droid will take out everyone on the ground. I helped them develop a plan for that."
Now that was top secret information. The only people who knew of that plan was Kanan, Ezra, Hera, Sabine, Zeb, Mon Mothma, yourself, and Fulcrum...
You couldn't formulate a smart response back to the Agent. He had managed to catch you off guard with every specific detail, from which day you were planning the raid, to the specific positions and jobs everyone had for the siege of Lothal.
Kallus had a smug look on his face that you just wanted to slap off, "Trust me, (Y/N). When I learned the Empire was going to pursue your team, I jumped on that mission to make sure I was the one who captured you and let you escape unscathed. My best interests are for the Rebels. I just want to help you."
You were trapped in the middle of an internal tug of war. Everything in your conscious brain was telling you to break free of your bindings and strangle the man to death for attempting to trick you, yet the other half, the rational half, told you that if you went through with that, and Kallus wasn't lying, then you'd have no chance of getting away from the Empire in one piece.
Before you could get a word out or ask another question, Kallus stepped forward and unlocked the bindings on both your ankles and wrists. You slumped to the floor as gravity took over with a thud. Agent Kallus dipped down and began helping you back to your feet, "Are you alright?" he asked, legitimate concern in his voice. He must have not realized how tired you really were.
"Yeah, I'm good," you groaned while boosting yourself back onto your feet thanks to Kallus. Now you were beginning to be convinced that Kallus really is Fulcrum. You didn't care how badly an Imperial wanted information like this, no way would they release you when they already had you— that would defeat the purpose of capturing you in the first place.
"So, you're the one who always makes the hands on plans," Kallus smirked. He knew he had begun to crack your protective exterior, "Would you like to make a plan on how we will escape this prison?"
"You're planning on coming?" you asked in confusion, "That would basically be telling the Empire that you indeed are Fulcrum!"
Kallus shook his head, that smirk still evident on his perfect lips, "That's the beauty of this. You're going to take me hostage!"
That sounded quite impossible and suspicious. No Imperial would ever believe that a Rebel, even one with your status, could take an Agent hostage in their own base. Yet, this plan gave you excitement. You appreciated the challenge.
You nodded, "Go on. I would like to hear how we are going to make this happen."
"I am only going to give you all of the information I can about this tower," Kallus replied, "As I said, you have never given me a reason to doubt your abilities while I was standing in as Fulcrum, so I am putting my faith in you."
You grew all warm inside. Although you have only just met Kallus and Fulcrum in person for the first time, you felt like you have known him for far much longer. Kallus locked the door as he pulled on a holodisc. It came to life, illuminating the darkness to life with a bluish glow,
"So, we have scouts and guards at every corner of the base," he began, pointing his black glove at all the corners, "Our ship docking port is on this floor. I have clearance to the ships because of my status as an Agent, but regardless, it will be difficult."
"How am I supposed to take you hostage, though?" you asked. That comment Kallus made earlier about how to escape with him coming along while making it look believable would be a hostage scenario.
"Honestly, just cuff me and start walking with a blaster in your hands. The Stormtroopers won't shoot, and we don't have anyone of real threat onboard. We just have to play our cards right."
That might just work.
You nodded in agreement, grabbing Kallus' blaster from his belt, "Get in the cuffs, boy," you chuckled, a huge smile on your face. The excitement over escaping whenever you fully believed you were doomed to an eternity of pain and suffering had you feeling quite giggly.
Kallus smiled as well, little creases appearing at the corners of his eyes. He held his hands out and you swiftly cuffed them together. You span around and opened the cell door, pushing Kallus out. His Stormtroopers that were previously dismissed were at the end of the hall. At the sight of Agent Kallus as a hostage, they rushed forward with their blasters drawn,
"Stop!" you yelled, showing the blaster that was previously pressed against Kallus' back, "I will not hesitate to shoot him!"
"Do as she says!" Kallus gasps. He was a wonderful actor. Perhaps that is how he hasn't been discovered by the Empire yet, "Alert the Admiral about what has happened! Do not attack her!"
The Stormtroopers, being the obedient lap dogs they are, ran off immediately after Kallus gave them their frantic commands. You sighed, looking at the Agent while walking towards the ship port, "You're having them report to Admiral Thrawn? Do you want us to get brutally murdered? What are you thinking?"
"I am trying to make it realistic," he hissed through clenched teeth, "If you want it to remain that way, shut up."
You couldn't help but roll your eyes. But Kallus was right. That does make this whole scenario more realistic, and it wouldn't help our case if someone overheard your conversation. So, you shut your mouth, and kept on walking towards the ship docking area. It seemed that the word about Kallus' capture had spread throughout the Scarif base, because there was a steadily increasing number of Stormtroopers coming from the shadows and down hallways, their blasters drawn.
You felt at peace, however. Kallus had personally instructed the Stormtroopers not to unload on you because it would risk his life. You poked Kallus' shoulder, making sure your voice was loud, "Now, I shall be taking this Agent onto a ship! If your base shoots any shots at the ship, you will kill him! Weigh out your options; I'm sure Lord Vader would not appreciate you killing one of his best Agents!"
No one replied, but you could sense Kallus' happiness at that line. It was strong and bold, which is what they needed.
You lead Kallus to a ship and immediately got inside. You uncuffed Kallus, and watched as more and more Stormtroopers flooded the dock, "I hope you're right that they won't shoot," you commented while getting into the cockpit, "Otherwise, we're toast."
"You're right about one thing," Kallus answered back, "Vader would be pissed if his Stormtroopers killed me. They won't shoot."
And they didn't.
You flew the ship out of orbit and punched in the coordinates to Yavin 4, "They can't track us, right?" you asked as it flew into Hyperspace.
"They can't," he replied while grabbing your hand lovingly, "Anyways, thanks for that. You have freed us both from a life of pain at the hands of the Empire. You are simply incredible, (Y/N)."
Your heart swelled at those words from your new, unexpected friend. Leaning forward, you pressed your lips to Kallus'. You felt embarrassed for being so bold, but you couldn't stop yourself. He was like a magnet once you got below that intimidating Agent exterior. You wanted to learn more and more about him.
Kallus wrapped his hands around your shoulders and pulled you in closer. He finally left your lips and rested his forehead against yours, "I am your Fulcrum... forever and always."
