Chapter 12
"SO YOU'RE IMMORTAL?" BELLA QUESTIONED AND HAZEL SHOOK HER HEAD forgetting her friend couldn't see her. She was currently sitting under her covers on her bed whilst on the phone to her friend
"Not yet"
"Lucky" Bella sighed
"It's not lucky" Hazel mumbled
"I don't get a choice on my future anymore. I have to live forever and watch everyone I love die and I don't have a say in the matter" Bella didn't say anything so Hazel carried on
"Though, I am lucky I found someone. Someone that I would be happy to spend every day with. I just hope that doesn't change"
"What do you mean? Like you wont like him anymore?"
"No. That he won't like me" she turned her head and saw Jasper standing at the open window and she opened her mouth but closed it quickly
"Bella. I got to go, I'll speak to you tomorrow okay?"
"Okay, bye"
"Bye" she put her phone down and turned to Jasper
"Do you do that a lot?" She asked referring to him coming in through the window. He chuckled and moved to sit on the bed
"No. What did you mean then? On the phone to Bella"
"Oh, it's nothing"
"You can't lie to me Darlin. Not to me" he picked her up and placed him on his lap, her knees going on either side of his body as she straddled him. She moved her head to the side not being able to meet his gaze but he placed his hand on the side of her face and moved her so she was looking at him
"You can tell me anything." She sighed softly
"I'm going to be immortal and I'm so glad that I'm going to be with you throughout it. But what if something happens between us Jas? I will be alone. I will live forever but that barely means anything if you aren't by my side"
"that's where I'll be forever Darlin. By your side. Because in such a short little amount of time you've become my favourite person" her heart swelled as he spoke
"You really mean that?" He looked deeply into her eyes trying to allow her to understand how serious he was
"Every word. I promise you, I will not leave you" she didn't know who initiated the kiss, nor did she care because once his lips met hers, her mind went haywire
His hand moved to her back and he flipped them both over so she was below him and started to kiss down her neck
"Jas" she whispered breathlessly. He smiled against her skin and the contact made her moan
"You're everything to me" he whispered connecting his lips back to hers

"Darlin, wake up" hazel parted her lips slightly and held on tighter to Jasper not wanting to let go incase he leaves the bed
"No" she whispered softly which made Jasper laugh
"You need to wake up, we're going to play baseball today"
"That's not until 3pm. Can we stay here until then?" Jasper sighed smiling. There was no way he would be able to say no to her
"Please?"
"Okay. Fine" she smiled pressing a kiss to his collarbone
"Thank you Jas" Jasper ran his cold hand over her bare hips and ran them up her waist

"WHERE ARE YOU GOING?" JACK ASKED ONE JASPER PICKED HAZEL UP. He was already in the house but he had to go home and get the car to act like he didn't stay the night
"We're going to play baseball" Jasper told him
"Baseball? Will hazel be playing or just watching?"
"Whatever she wants" they both looked to her
"Playing. Definitely. I can't wait to beat Emmett at something else" they both chuckled at her
"Get going then" jack said ushering then out the house

"Jason, are you ready to lose?" Hazel asked as she stepped out of the car. She went over to Esme and Carlisle bringing them both into hugs as well as the other siblings
"You're playing!? Oh you're going down" she sped over to him, tripped him over and looked down at his body sprawled out across the floor
"You'll see about that. Emmett 0. Hazel 4" the Cullens all laughed and she went back over to Jasper who was looking at her proudly
"You've got this immortal thing down huh?"
"Uncle jack has been teaching me things in our spare time" she smiled wrapping her arms around his waist and looked up at him. He brushed some hair away from her face and pressed a kiss to her nose which made her adorably scrunch it up
It was a while before Bella and Edward pulled up and Hazel smiled skipping over to them both
"Bella" she smiled hugging her
"Hey Hazel" she moved to Edward and brought him into a hug too
"Glad you're here" Esme said walking over to them
"We need an umpire"
"She thinks we cheat" Emmett said which made Hazel laugh
"You do cheat"
"Do not!"
"Call them as you see them Bella" the lightning struck once they were all in positions and Alice smiled
"It's time" she threw the ball which Rosalie hit and was sped off
"Okay, now I see why you need thunder. That's gotta be a home run right?" Bella asked Esme
"Edward's very fast" Jasper started to spin his bat around which made Hazel blush as she stared at him. Edward caught the ball and threw it to Esme who pressed it down as Rosalie slid in
"You're out" Bella announced
"Out Wooo!" Emmett noticed Rosalie's sour face
"Babe, come on. It's just a game" Hazel held her hand out to Rosalie who took it and she helped the girl up off the floor
"Dont worry rose. I'll make Emmett eat his words when I completely obliterate him" she laughed and nodded
"You do that" she walked away and past Bella, sending her a glare. Carlisle went up next and hit it, both Emmett and Michael went to the ball and hit each other. They both dropped to the floor and laughed as Carlisle got in safe
Jasper went and flipped his bat around a few times. Hazel couldn't help but stare and was unable to control her blush. Jasper felt what she was and he turned to her, smiling before he looked back. Alice threw the ball and he hit it, running off but Emmett climbed a tree and caught it. Jasper sighed as he was out and kissed hazels' head
She walked up to the front and held the bat up
"I'm gonna make you eat your words Emmett" Alice threw the ball and she hit it the hardest she could. The ball went the furthest anyone had hit it today and Hazel sprinted around the track. She watched as Emmett chased after it but she already got to the end before he could even get it. She smiled and walked into Jaspers arms hearing Emmett's complaints
"Keep talking Emmett!" She called out and he groaned
"Emmett 0. Hazel 5" Rosalie went up again and hit the ball, it sending Esme's hair flying as she ran but then Hazel noticed a distant look in Alice's eyes
"Stop!" She called. Everyone ran over to the start
"They we're leaving. Then they heard us" Edward walked over to Bella and tried to lead her away and Jasper went over to Hazel
"It's too late" Carlisle said stopping Bella and Edward from leaving
"Get your hair down" Edward urges Bella. Rosalie turned to them both
"Like that'll help. I can smell her from across the field"
"What's going on Jas?" Hazel asked him
"Human feeders. Vampires, the ones that have caused the killings around forks. They're coming" she was grateful for the description, though it wasn't a lot, it was better than nothing. he placed the hat he was wearing on her head just as a precaution. They walked forward, Emmett and Rosalie on one of hazels side and Jasper on the other
Emmett and Hazel had a playful brother and sister bond but he knew when it was time to get serious, and now was that time. He would do anything to protect his sister
They all watched as 3 people walked towards them and the Cullens followed. Laurent held up the ball he had picked up on his way over
"I believe this belongs to you" he threw it at Carlisle who caught it easily
"Thank you"
"I am Laurent. And this is Victoria... and James" James studied each of the Cullens, only 2 catching his attention
"I'm Carlisle. This is my family"
"Hello"
"I'm afraid your hunting activities have caused something of a mess for us"
"Our apologies, we didn't realise the territory had been claimed"
"Yes, well we maintain a permanent residence nearby" Laurent looked over to James who was staring at Edward and Bella
"Really? Well we won't be a problem anymore. We were just passing through"
"The humans were tracking us, but we lead them east. You should be safe" the woman spoke for the first time
"excellent"
Laurent: "So, could you use three more players?" They all looked to Carlisle who didn't speak
"Oh, come on. Just one game"
"Sure, why not? A few of us were leaving. You could take their place. We'll bat first" he threw it to Laurent but Victoria was quick to catch it instead
"I'm the one with the wicked curveball"
Michael: "well, I think we could handle that"
"Oh" a few of them chuckled and they turned. Though Jasper and Hazel walked over to Edward who had yet to move. She stood beside Bella and sent her a comforting smile
The wind moved as James moved and he sniffed the air turning back
"You brought a snack" Edward moved Bella back next to Hazel and she stood with a protective arm on her front. The rest of the Cullens moved into front in protective stances against the red eyed vampires
"A human?" Laurent questioned confused
"The girl is with us. It think it best if you leave"
"I can see the game is over. We'll go now" Laurent backed away but the other male didn't attempt to move
"James" James stood up but instead of walking away he ran around the Cullens and towards Bella. Bella gasped as he got close and Hazel quickly ran to him sending him away, they both rolled around on the floor till he was below her and she had her arm to his neck whilst he growled at her
"Stand down" she hissed. He stopped and she got up and slid him over to his covern who watched her eyes flash blue
"A ΥΠΕΡΑΣΠΙΣΤΗΣ" Victoria and Laurent both gasped, staggering back and helped James up off the floor before they all retreated back. Jasper walked to Hazel and placed a hand on her shoulder
"Darlin?" She looked up to him shaking out of her daze
"Are you okay?" She nodded and took his hand in hers
"That was badass shortie" she high fived Emmett forgetting about their fake feud for a moment
"Edward is taking Bella back to our place, he's going to go after both you and Bella now, so you can't go back home" she nodded
"Can I tell my uncle what happened? So he knows to look out incase he traces my scent back to my house" it was better to give her uncle the tip so he knew what he could look out for, he can handle himself
"Of course"
