Regressed Nick.
Nick was cuddled up in his bed, his head was hurting, and he didn't feel like doing anything. He had his stuffed giraffe held tightly to his chest as he mumbled to himself, groaning in pain, "sowwy." He was praying whatever God that was doing this to him would stop. He clutched his sleeves and sank back, making himself smaller. He held himself not wanting to move, his eyes glossed over with tears, slowly falling asleep.
An hour had passed and Chris hadn't heard anything from Nick, he scanned over at Matt who was entranced in his phone. "Have you seen Nick?" Chris asked, Matt didn't say anything. "Matt?" Chris said louder, Matt glanced up at Chris, "Yea? What's up?" He asked. Chris subtly rolled his eyes, "Have you seen Nick?" Chris repeated. "No?" Matt said, his eyes widening.
In an instant they both took off from the couch, sprinting toward Nick's room, the door swiftly threw open as they barged in, "NICK?!" They yelled, only seeing his hand dangling off the side of the bed. As they got closer they calmed down seeing that he was perfectly okay, just sleeping. His hand wrapped around his stuffie as he snored lightly, his pacifier dangling off the clip attached to his shirt barely in his mouth. He wiped his eyes and groaned, "mmh" he pouted in his sleep, still uncomfortable. He felt weak and being woken up really made it worse. Chris and Matt shared worried expressions, wondering what their baby was going through. When Nick finally sat up and opened his eyes he immediately made grabby hands, Matt and Chris kissed him and picked him up, telling him everything was going to be alright.
They had asked him small questions about how he was feeling, but his mind had regressed younger, making it harder for him to form words. "Baby, are you hungry?" Matt asked, Nick nodded, whispering "wafs!" Translating to waffles. However when the waffles were plated and handed to him, perfectly cut up like always, he couldn't do it. His mouth didn't chew and he cried. Applesauce would have to do for now, they were dealing with a really small baby today.
