CHAPTER 6
"Inupi- calm down,"
Before [name] could even say something back, the (h/c) haired female had started walking away abruptly. With his sudden change of demeanor towards the girl, both Kokonoi and the girl herself couldn't help but be surprised, leaving her no choice but to leave them both for now to avoid drama.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck. I'll talk to you tomorrow, kay? better come." Koko stopped his tracks for a second, leaving his blonde-haired friend behind for a couple of seconds.
"I'll come don't worry." You gave him a thumbs up and a reassuring smile. It made the ravenette ponder how you could still smile so precious and carefree after what his childhood friend had just spat at you.
In easy words, you knew this will come. You expected this to come, if not sooner then maybe later. But not with someone you just met, you mostly expected it to be Mikey or Draken, or even both at the same time. If it were your childhood friends then maybe you wouldn't be walking away right now since you know the words you'll explain.
But them? Inui and Kokonoi? What do they know, you've just met them recently they know nothing about what's going on. They don't know about your relationship with toman, with Draken, with Mikey, with Ran and Rindou, nothing.
Kokonoi gave you a small nod and after that, you proceeded to walk away from the two. Koko could only watch your back walk away and disappear after some seconds. He then went back to Inui who was a couple of meters away.
All you can do is hope none of those two would tell Mikey and Draken about what happened. Not today, at least.
"Inupi, what's making you so worked up?"
"What do you mean?" Inui raised a brow.
"What do you mean, what do I mean? ー did you not see how she walked away because of your oh-so-wise and straightforward words?" Kokonoi knows Inui well, they're childhood friends after all. Inui might be collected and overall calm, but he speaks frankly and straightforwardly, not caring if people could swallow his words to themselves. That's why quiet people scare Koko very much.
"Did you not see who she was with? The two Haitanis. Both are a member of Tenjiku. She's not a part of toman, didn't she say? ー what if she's a spy or something? We're risking our livesー" Kokonoi is Inui's childhood friend. It goes for the opposite, Inui is Kokonoi's childhood friend. They've been together for years,
And he knows what's happening with his dear friend.
"Inupi. I know why you're like this." After hearing the black-haired male's words, Inui's brows that were earlier almost knitted together suddenly changed. His frustration turned into confusion as he waited for the next words Kokonoi will say.
"You remember her, don't you?"

Back in Inui's third year of Junior High, a certain girl once caught his eyes and after that, he felt attached to her.
She had those pretty (e/c) colored eyes that lit up so brightly like the moon in the night sky, and (h/c) locks that looked faintly soft. For Inui, the girl looked like a dream.
ー somehow, Inui felt devasted because he only caught a glimpse of her for the first time when he was soon to graduate his life out of school. She was a second-year, his junior. She was a part of the school council, the school secretary to be exact.
And he wouldn't know about this if Kokonoi didn't say it because Inui paid no heed to the school counselors. He never had any interest in them.
Well, that was until he saw the girl.
After school, students mostly take part in their club activities. Most clubs were sports, which were outside the school building. Meanwhile, those who are not in a club, they're not allowed to stay inside but they can roam around the school grounds without disturbing those who are practicing.
Roaming in the hallways after school was the secretary's job. She'd wander around until the school ends, and have a meeting with her fellow councilors after all students go home.
One day, the secretary visited the library during her daily inspection of the school.
"Kokonoi Hajime, you do know that staying inside the school without important reasons is not allowed, right? Unless you got the teacher's permission that is." The female spoke as soon as she saw her classmate. Though her tone wasn't serious and annoying to anyone's ears, not even Kokonoi would complain if she starts talking about school rules. She talked in a joking demeanor.
"But I do have an important reason!" Said the 14 years old Hajime and showed the secretary the book he was reading. Finance.
"Oh wow, your dream job or something? ー very unlikely of you, I thought you'd be a fortune teller or something." With the girl's statement, Kokonoi's third-year friend couldn't help but snort from the window.
"Okay, that one was very rude." Kokonoi rolled his eyes but laughed between his sentence.
"That's Inui by the way. I call him Inupi, he's one of my closest friends." He used his pen and pointed at the blonde-haired male who was sitting by the window.
"Oh, you're a third year? Should I call you Inui senpai? I should, right-" The girl sticky noticed the color of his indoor shoes which she automatically knew he was a year ahead of them.
"You should."
"There's no need-- call me Inupi or Inui, or Seishu, my first name." After hearing the word senpai, he instantly shook his head in refusal.
"Alright, Seishu." She was the first one to call him by his first name in an instant. Not like he minds though, the way the secretary called him by his first name made him feel butterflies in his stomach. He's totally good with it.
"How is it like to be in the third year? ー I've helped set the graduation ceremony recently, do you rehearse like how we did it back in elementary? Like, do we stand, sit, and clap for hours again?" The girl took a seat in front of the book registering computer, with the support of her elbows standing on the counter, she rested her chin on her palms as she asked her senior.
"Unfortunately, it's the same as we did in elementary. Walk slow, clap fast, stand, and sit. That's pretty much it. The ceremony finishes after everyone has said their speech, sing the national anthem, and make the teachers cry." Inui crossed his legs and proper his hands on his knees.
"Can't wait to see someone fainting again." Commented Kokonoi as he flipped through the pages of his book.
"(Last name), why are these two in here? ー it's not allowed." The trio then turned to the entrance. Kokonoi could only roll his eyes and wait for the person's scolding. Inui too thought the three of them were gonna receive teachings.
"Don't worry, pres. They got a permit."
(Last name) (name), the famous student council secretary, lied.
Lied to the president. Just for the two.
And what amused Inui and Kokonoi more was how the president seemed to believe the female.
"Want proof?" The girl tilted her head and grabbed her file where many kinds of paper were kept. Both Inui and Kokonoi knew that there was no proof, it made them nervous, and confused at why she'd let out such a suggestion to someone with a high role in the school whilst she was lying.
"ー no need. I need to go somewhere else, lock the library after, okay?" The male then walked away after closing the door.
"Did you just lie to the president?" Inui who seemed to be in disbelief asked while crossing his arms, eyes wide in amusement.
"I just did." The female chuckled faintly and scratched her neck, "Don't want to get scolded. I know you two dislike the idea too. I had to, please don't snitch."
"Damn, what a cool secretary you are." This time Kokonoi wasn't sarcastic with his compliment. "Why'd you suggest him to show proof when you got none though?"
"Same question to be honest." Inui nodded.
"To sound supplementary convincing." The girl proudly responded. "I know he wouldn't ask for proof anyway, from me that is. But if it were only the two of you, he might've asked for one. "
"That's a life savior over there." Inui silently clapped and chuckled. "We would've gotten teachings from that mister goodie-two-shoes."
"For real."
"Yeah, yeah. Grab your books if you're borrowing them, and I'll register. We'll go out soon." Standing up from her seat, the female grabbed a pen from the holder.
She watched the two approach the counter, Kokonoi grabbed two books and laid them on the wooden desk in front of her.
She flipped through the pages and grabbed the paper slip, borrower's registry paper, and wrote Kokonoi's name on each slip, as well as the date and her name. After that, the trio exited the library, and (name) turned the lights off and locked the door.
"I'll accompany you two to make sure you won't stay inside the school." Said the girl while twirling the keys on her fingers.
"What? You don't trust us or something?"
"ー says the ones who went inside the library without and permit."
"Hey, I didn't know there was such a rule. I only followed Koko."
"Are you blaming me?"
"Yes, actually. Now the Secretary thinks I'm troublesome."
"You're a lot more than that?"
"Oh?" You hummed as you heard what Kokonoi said.
"He's joking, don't worry (name)."
"I'm not."
The hallways were filled with laughter until the three reached the exits. (Name) watched the two separate to get each other's outdoor shoes.
"Kokonoi don't forget to return the books on time. I'll get scolded if you don't." The girl opened the door for them and Kokonoi exited first as Inui followed.
"I'd like to witness you getting scolded." Snickered the black-haired male.
"I'll have to drag both of you so that the three of us will get scolded instead. Now bye-bye, take care you two."
That was the first time Seishu had met you. ー and he started longing for your company ever since then, but due to different schedules, he couldn't get the right timing and look for the girl.
There were times when he'll notice her roaming around the halls during lessons, but unfortunately, the girl never noticed him.
But when the time came that you noticed him, you never walk past him without waving your hand with a warm smile. That was most of your interactions with him. Small interactions, but it meant solely important to him.
After the graduation ceremony, he was certain you were going to be there since you have cleaning up jobs to do. He planned on meeting you at that time.
But a month before graduation, news came to him.
That you suddenly exchanged schools.
