Manik's pov
"Manik" she mummbled gripping my t shirt tight
I could feel her shivering from my dad's tone and now I was regretting not kicking her out.
"WHO IS SHE" he screamed again
"A friend" I mumbled
"YOU BETTER NOT BE FUCKING ANY BITCHES" he yelled and I could feel nandini shivering more
"Don't use such words for her" for the first time I was going against his words
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME" he yelled slapping me
"Im sorry, I have to go drop her home. We can talk when I get back" I said
"I DON'T EVER WANNA SEE THIS SLUT IN MY HOUSE AGAIN"
"Don't use those words for her" I said again but looking right in his eyes time
I could tell he was intimidated and confused because I have never looked him in the eyes going against him. Without hearing anything else I walked outside with Nandini, I pulled her with me to her house.
I was going to grab her keys from her hands but she didn't have any so I just pushed the door and it was fucking open, she left the house open how stupid is that. Shaking my head I closed her doors behind us, then I dragged her with me upstairs and there was only one door open so I assumed it was her room.
"I fucking told you to leave didn't I" I said leaving her wrists when we reached her room
She didn't reply, she looked down sitting on the edge of her bed.
"NANDINI I AM TALKING TO YOU" I yelled and she burst out crying
She was wailing like a little child who lost her parents. I took a deep breath and sat down beside her on the bed.
"Nandini"
"Im so-sorry" she stumbled her words
"I told you that you should go" I said softly
She looked up in my eyes and I felt that wall I had built lowering. i felt my heart clench seeing her crying.
"Im sorry, because of me he yelled at you and hit you" she said stunning me with her words
"Is that why you are crying" I asked and she nodded
"I am sorry, I won't do it again" she cried
"Okay shh it's okay" I said wiping her chubby cheeks
"Dard ho haha hai" she asked touching my cheek
"No, are you okay"
"I got scarred" she mummbled looking down
"I know, im sorry you had to see that"
"It's not your fault, it's my fault. Im sorry that he hit you because of me" she cried
"Shh it's okay, stop crying"
"You won't yell at me too" she asked looking at me
"I won't" I said and she nodded
She was sniffling now making me sigh, I felt heart broken seeing her crying like this. She is so bubbly and cute, and I have never seen her crying in the last two weeks.
"You can stay here if you don't want to go back" she offered making me smile a little
"It's okay, you are okay right" I asked and she nodded
"Thank you" she mummbled
"For what"
"For comforting me, and im sorry again for being the reason behind everything that happened"
"Come on get to bed" i said getting up
"Stay" she siad
"I can't Nandini, I need you to stay as far away from me as possible"
"You don't like me" she asked with a sadness in her voice
"This is not about me, this is about you. You are not gonna come close to me is that understood" ia asked

"Nandini"
"Manik"
"Is that understood" I asked again and she looked down
"Meko bat ni Karin" she said slowly
"Go to sleep and lock your doors, don't leave them open"
"Oksy"
I got up and walked downstairs, I knew she was following me. She grabbed my arm before I could step out
"Come over at any time if anything happens. I ummm just be safe and please eat" she said letting go of my arm
Without replying I walked back to my house to find my dad sitting on the couch with a glass of scotch in his hands. Normally I would be scared but I didn't care anymore, I was used to it.
"Back so quick, I thought you'd take some time"
"Dad she is just a random classmate"
"Do not fucking lie to me" he said getting up
"Im not"
"I DO NOT APPRECIATE YOU LYING TO ME, YOU FUCKING UNGRATEFUL PEICE OF SHIT" he screamed throwing his glass at me
I flinched as the glass slashed my arm causing blood to trickle down my arm. I carefully picked up the glass and got rid of it.
"Lets get you in bed" I said holding him but he punched my jaw so fucking hard
I felt like it dislocated but it didn't. I grabbed onto my jaw caressing it to ease the pain.
"Dad"
"IF I SEE HER IN THIS HOUSE AGAIN I WILL FUCK UP YOUR LIFE ALONG WITH HERS. DO NOT BRING IN FUCKING SLUTS IN MY HOUSE" he screamed
"She isn't a slut"
"WHAT DID YOU SAY" he said grabbing my jaw
"You are hurting me" I said as he pressed more into my jaw
"YOU FUCKING DESERVE EVERY BIT OF IT" he said walking up to his room
Taking a deep breath I grabbed my phone and the plate Nandini had got for me. I sat down in the storage room in front of my a huge picture. I didn't wanna eat but remembering Nandini's words and seeing the pizza she made I couldn't help myself
I ate all the slices she had gotten for me and I had to admit it was yum. I noticed my arm was still bleeding so I grabbed the first aid box and put some bandage on it. I walked up to my room and noticed nandini sleeping with her head on the window
I knew she was waiting for me to come up so she could see if I was okay and that warms my heart, but I have to stay away from her not because I want to but becasue I have to for her sake. I do not want my dad harassing her. The way she cried today was not a sight I ever wanna see again.
I smiled seeing her sleeping with her lips pouted, she is adorable. I closed my lights and fell on my bed. I watched her which is creepy but I couldn't help it and I don't know when sleep consumed me.
I woke up the next day and the first thing I did was look towards nandini's room but she wasn't there. I don't even know why I was looking in her room but I heard someone clearing their throat and I instantly knew it's cabir
"Hello, good morning majnu" he said
"Morning" I said getting up
"What the fuck Manik" he said holding my jaw carefully
"Ouch, stop it" I said
"You have got to be kidding me, I left you in one piece and here you are with a bruised jaw and a cut on your arm, how" he asked as I walked in the shower
It hurt to bad when the water hit the cut on my arm, I winced at the pain but it was nothing new I guess. I showered and put on some clothes, I walked outside to see cabir sitting there looking pissed
"How the fuck manik" he asked again
"Dad" I said setting my hair
"What was the reason this time" he asked
"Nandini" I mumbled subconsciously, regretting it the instant I blurt it out
"What does Nandini have to do with this" he asked
"Umm nothing" I said and he glared at me
"Tell me now"
"She came over to give me my phone that I left at her house by accident and some pizza because I didn't eat. i was just telling her to leave when dad showed up and started calling her names. I had to get her out of here so I talked back to him and hence this"
"You what"
"I did, she was practically shivering holding me so I had to" I said remembering her shivering
"Is she okay" he asked
"I think so, she cried a lot like full on wailed like a child"
"Damn it"
"I know, I felt like shit seeing her crying like that and all she cared about was my cheek because she saw him hit me"
"Have you talked to her since"
"Nope, told her to stay away"
"Why"
"Can't have her crying like this, it took me a while to get her to calm down"
"Very well, but I'm not staying away from her and neither should you"
"Cabir my life isn't easy and I cannot have her hurt, she is so bubbly and cute. Trust me when I saw her cry yesterday I wanted to cry seeing her face full of tears" I said as we started driving to college
"I understand that and you should be careful but you need to get out of this toxic shit with you dad. You cannot let him hit you like that"
"I don't care but im not letting him see nandini ever, he will end up hurting her"
"Will you let him hurt her" he asked
"Not till my heart is beating, the fuck kind of question is that"
"Dude just asking" he said putting his hands up
"Don't ever ask such stupid questions and im done talking about nandini" I said as we got out of the car walking to class
"Fine let's talk about my sister then"
"You don't have a sister"
"I mean nandini" he said smirking
"Shut up, ahhh holly fuck" I mummbled as someone ran into me with a thud
"Sorry" I heard Nandini's voice making me look down to see her on the floor
"What is with you and not looking where you are going" I asked
"Manik" she said leaving her stuff on the floor and getting up
"What" I asked and her eyes filled with tears
"Saman toh Utha lai" capir said grabbing her bag and dairy she dropped
