Third Person POV:
Cherry was sitting at a wooden bench in the school yard, minding her own business. Out of no where Ponyboy ran up to her in a busy manner, it shocked her.
"Cherry please I need help." Whispered Ponyboy, just loud enough for his friend to hear.
"God Pony you scared me, yeah what is it that you need?" She asked politely, honestly, it better be important for him to be this stressed.
"Y'know Johnny, right?" The blonde boy asked. Of course she knew who Johnny was, he was Ponyboy's best friend, and crush...
"Yes I know him, he is the one you like?" Wondered Cherry. Ponyboy put a thumbs up to signal yes.
"I...I want to ask him out, Cherry, but I don't know how." He frowned and looked at his feet. He had always been close to Johnny and the chances of him messing up his friendship were very high, or so he thought.
"What are you so jumpy anyway?" She questioned blankly, he was more excited than usual.
"I um... I heard somebody say that they were gonna ask him out, I ain't letting anyone get him before me." The younger boy said proudly. Damn right Johnny is Ponyboy's.
The red haired girl sat and thought deeply, she had an idea!
"Why don't you buy him a nice gift and ask him out when you guys are alone? After school or at night time." Cherry smiled "That sure would be sweet!" She exclaimed enthusiastically, it would be sweet.
"You think so? What should I buy?" He inquired curiously. He didn't know much about Johnny's likings. Johnny never really told him much.
"Well if you ask me, I say get him a nice necklace or a cute ring." The nice girl suggested, she always had the best ideas.
"Righto." Ponyboy paused "Fucking hell I'm poor as shit." He whispered under his breath. He rolled his eyes and started walking away. A hand grabbed his arm and pulled him back.
"Wait Ponyboy! Here, take it please." Cherry begged. He looked back to see her holding some cash. He couldn't take HER money, it was hers, not his.
"No no, I couldn't Cherry!" He tried to explain but Cherry wasn't gonna take no for an answer. She shoved the money in his hand.
"Buy him something nice will ya?" She grinned and walked away before he could protest. Gee, Cherry was a good friend.
Ponyboy just wasn't too sure what to get Johnny...

The younger boy waited at the gate for Johnny, he was nervous for tonight. He would somehow have to sneak out to the shops.
He saw a skinny boy with black greased hair walk out the doors, that was definitely Johnny. He was looking at the floor while walking so he didn't he Ponyboy.
Ponyboy assumed Johnny saw him so he walked toward him until he was eventually standing right in front of him.
"Hey Jo- AH!" He just got shoved to the ground by his best friend. He felt the gravel and concrete dig into his palms.
Since Johnny was looking at the floor he thought Ponyboy was a Soc that was ready to grab him. So by reflex he pushed Ponyboy and was getting ready to start sprinting.
"Sorry! I swear I thought you were somebody else!" The older boy reassured while helping his friend up from the floor.
He just smiled "Don't worry 'bout it." The blonde haired boy said in a nice tone. That made Johnny feel a little better, in fact he blushed.
The pair started walking home just like any other school day. Thank god today was Friday, the weekend finally!

Ponyboy got home an hour ago and recently snuck off to the shops for a gift. Even though Steve once told him not to go walking by his lonesome?

He walked past so many shops and still couldn't choose. He hated having to make decisions because he somehow always chose the worst one. But he had to choose before it got too late.
He ended up going into a jewellery store and browsed around until he found a cute necklace that he had enough money for. Pony didn't know shit about necklaces and all that girly stuff but he chose a good one.
He chose it because it was gold, not real gold of course, just gold coloured. The two had something to with gold. Yk yk ofc. He also thought it would compliment Johnny's tan skin, especially in the sun. He had a few dollars left so he decided to get some sort of snack.
He walked to the grocery store and looked in the lolly section. He knew Johnny absolutely loved the strawberry lollipops so he grabbed a few and bought them.
On the walk home he hoped Johnny would like the gifts and hopefully say yes. Pony's hands got sweaty has he approached the house. He knew he wouldn't be in trouble but he was just nervous in how to get Johnny to hang out with him...alone.
He opened the door and ran up the stairs to hide the presents. He hid them under his pillow. He ran back downstairs and saw his crush sitting on the couch.
'It's now or never' Thought Pony
He approached Johnny and sat down next to him. Johnny pretended to not notice but internally he was freaking out. He uncomfortably shifted in his seat as he felt the other boy stair at him.
"So uh, Johnny... You wanna go hang out upstairs?" Pony suggested trying to act as 'casual' as possible. Johnny looked over and nodded gently.
"Ooh! Ooh! Can I hang with y'all?" Two-Bit asked in a childish tone.
Gee great if he is with them how the hell is Ponyboy supposed to ask Johnny out? Pony just have a 'glare' and somehow Two understood what he meant. He was always a little suspicious of those boys. While Johnnys back was turned Two-Bit put two thumbs up and gave a goofy smile, it helped boost Pony's confidence knowing somebody was okay with him loving Johnny.

They walked up the few stairs and once they got to the room. Pony closed the door. He knew Soda, Steve and Darry worked late today so nobody could disturb them.
Johnny sat down on the bed unaware of anything that's happening, Ponyboy sat next to him. Johnny stared at his beautiful features.
"S-So Johnny I just wanted to ask you something." Mumbled the taller of the two. His face was starting to get red, great.
"What would that be?" The older boy asked nervously. He got anxious when it was just the two of them alone.
"I think your real pretty Johnny. I just haven't been able to get you off my mind lately. And uhh..." he trailed off, this wasn't gonna be easy to ask "I- I was wondering if you'd go out with me. Like...As lovers?" He pulled out the necklace and the lollipops. Ponyboy was now dreading to see the disgust on his friends face but it was quite the opposite.
He looked up and stared into his chocolate eyes. Johnny was crying, tears streamed down his face and he was smiling. He waited for this day for months now.
"O-Of course Pony!" He exclaimed in excitement. He pulled Ponyboy into a tight embrace and loved every second of it.
Ponyboy was stunned. He never thought Johnny would feel the same way about him. It was a dream come true.
They both pulled away and the younger boy held the necklace and started putting around his now boyfriends neck. His prediction was right, the gold complimented his gorgeous tan skin. He was happy with his choice.
Johnny spoke up "C-Can I kiss you, only if it's fine with yo-." He was cut off by Ponyboy cupping his face and pressing a loving kiss on his lips. Johnny's eyes widened but he slowly closed them after realisation. Johnny wrapped his arms around the other boys neck and gently stroked his neck. Slowly they pulled away. It was their first kiss for both of them but it was a great first kiss.
