rui finally speaks, "what's your name"
you stare blankly,
ah. right. language barrier...
you blink at him, he stares back.
is she stupid? why's she not replying..
"hello?" he frowns.
"meow" you blurt, pausing instantly and eyes widening slightly.
meow?! fuck me dead..
rui looked confused, "me-ow..??"
"meow" you repeat nodding your head very slowly.
he scrunches his face up slightly.
"are you stupid or something?"
you sulk, "bitch i can't understand you.." you murmur.
he blinks,
huh? is that.. english?
"you speak english?"
you blink in shock, mouth dropping open.
man.. i really need to stop being shocked when people can speak english! maybe it's a demon thing..
you blow some hair from your face, "yeah bro.. english. that's right"
he tilts his head, "bro...?"
you internally facepalm,
agh! i need to stop using modern terminology... he probably thinks i look like a complete idiot!
she looks like an idiot...
rui stares you down and crosses his arm.
"oi, human. be my bi-"
"yes"
there was a silence.
"what?"
"yes. i do. i will"
rui deadpans, "you don't even know what i'm asking yet"
you pause slightly,
that's true. i mean.. i did read a story where the reader was asked to be his wife instead of big sister... oh god i hope that doesn't happen-
"um.. i guessed? what were you going to say, then" you puff out your cheeks.
"be my big sister" he proclaims.
"okay" you shrug.
he blinks, "just.. okay? you're not gonna.. think about it... at all?"
he seemed to be slightly disappointed by your complete lack of care for the danger of the situation.
you shrug, laying back over the rock you were sat on.
"meh. you're cute so it's whatever"
his eyes widen slightly,
cute? i'm not cute.. i mean my parents call me cute- (stop)

you sweat-drop at the silence,
uh oh.. is he going to kill me now-
deciding to face him, you pull yourself up with much effort.
instead of an angry face, you were faced with a confused and slightly shocked one.
you blink before a bright grin comes to your face.
oh my god... HE'S SO CUTE!
you jump up from the rock, startling rui.
he reels back as you leap forward to hug him, making you land face-first onto the dirt.
you lay flat for a while, not bothering to move and hoping you would decompose into the ground as to never have to face the embarrassment of this situation.
after a good five minutes of laying there, silent, you feel a foot nudge your side.
you roll flat on your back, staring up at rui, who had a deadpan expression.
you grin blandly and awkwardly.
he continues to stare.
you purse your lips, "are you just gonna stare at me, orrrr...."
he deadpans, "get up, human"
you puff out some air, "that's a rude way to address your favourite older sister"
"who said you're my favourite?"
"of course i'm your favourite. have you met me?"
his deadpan deepens.
"okay, pookie bear. what now?"
he blinks owlishly.
"pookie bear?"
"yes. you're my pookie bear"
he tilts his head,
is that some kind of nickname?
you gush,
ugh! what a cute little demon who i can completely confuse with my words!
you jump up again, running to encase rui in a hug in which you actually managed to do this time.
his eyes widen and he freezes up as your arms wrap around his chest, you on your knees to be able to hug his small frame.
his arms were stiff by his side as you squeeze him, grinning brightly.
what.. what is she doing?
"what are you doing?" rui questions.
"hugging you, duh.."
he blinks, "hugging.. me? why?"
"are you joking? because you're my favourite little brother"
spoiler alert, he's your only 'little brother'. but he doesn't need to know that.
his eyebrows raise and his eyes swell, heart thumping loudly.
"favourite.. little brother?"
"yes!"
his lip trembles and you look up at him, slightly confused at the silence.
but your eyes widen as you see his eyes filled with tears.
you yelp in worry, "ah! rui! are you okay?!"
he didn't even question how you knew his name, instead wrapping his own arms around you, burying his face in the spot above your chest, just below your shoulder.
your eyes were wide, face slack.
rui.. he's crying..stooooppp!! this is going to make me cry!!
right on time, you could feel tears well in your own eyes.
you sniffle, squeezing the boy tighter.
