He was standing still on the stairs, with his body slightly turned around to look at you
You both stayed silent waiting for one of you to break the silence
You tried catching your breath but he then turned back and started walking down the stairs again
"Hey wait- a second " you breathed out
He stopped a second time before turning around completely to face you
"What?" He said with a straight face and the corners of his mouth slightly turned upwards
Once he was facing and talking to you, you realised the situation you were in and you immediately started to feel embarrassed because of what happened after the party
Your cheeks started heating up and you carefully averted your eyes from him before saying in almost a whisper
"I wanted to talk with you"
"Huh?" Yoshida said incapable of hearing what you just said
You frowned your eyebrows and said in a firm tone "I wanted to talk to you dumbass"
"Oh so now it's not arrogant prick anymore?" He said before rolling his eyes and making his way downstairs
"Tsk" you started following him "I wanna talk about what happened after the party"
"Hmmm" yoshida mumbled
"Can you just stop for a second" you grabbed his arm making him stop right there
"Look, I don't know what you wanna talk about but It's not my problem"
What he just said left you confused
"What do you mean you don't know what I wanna talk about ? Are you playing dumb right now or what" you angrily spat at him while he kept that same unfazed expression on his face
"You really think that I wasn't gonna ask you any questions after that night ???" You kept looking at him with insistence in hope he'll say something but nothing came out of his mouth
You let go off his arm before closing your eyes and taking a deep breath in order to calm down before continuing this one sided conversation which you started regretting initiating
"You said my name back there... and you knew about Ava" you calmly said while he listened
"I know that I didn't tell you any of those things, so now I wanna know how you knew all of this?" You finally regained your confidence as you firmly asked him your question
And as you waited for his answer, silence started filling the staircase and so until it was disturbed by yoshida himself
"Seriously?"
You looked at the guy in front of you in disbelief of his sudden reaction, what did he mean seriously? Was your question weird?
Your eyes showed your confusion meanwhile on yoshida's end a smirk started forming on his face
"Guess how?" He added now in an amused tone
Saying that you were annoyed right now would be an understatement "what do you mean guess how ? I just asked you a question and you answer me with an other one"
"I mean the answer is pretty obvious when you think about it"
"Probably but I'm not here to play guess" You said to him before rolling your eyes
"I'm in this school since the beginning of high school... just like you" he said now Visibly annoyed by the situation
You looked at him waiting for more explanation even though it started making more sense to you
You were in the same school for years now it wouldn't be surprising for him to have heard your name somewhere in the school
But it still bothered you how you never once met or noticed him at all
"You once got caught trying to skip class with your friend and you both got sent to the office... I was there"
You frowned your eyebrows clearly showing your confusion after a few seconds you slightly opened your mouth to speak before Yoshida interrupted you
"Now that I think about it, it's a little bit weird how I said it" he said visibly annoyed at himself before you said
"Uhm... yeah sure... but I don't really remember this" the fact that Ava and you skipped class didn't chock you cause you did that multiple times but getting caught is what threw you off
"Yeah probably it wasn't recent I guess, I just have a good memory" he said while leaning his back on the wall of the staircase and crossing his arms
As he did this you also decided to make yourself comfortable by sitting on the stairs
His explanation was legit and you seriously started worrying about the state of your own memory for not having any clue to who Yoshida was even after going to the same school for years now
"If you knew my name why did you ask me for it ?" You asked
"Cause it would've been weird if I came up to you already knowing your name" you both looked at each other before he added "I mean I would've came across as a stalker and that's not really what I'm looking for?" He shrugged
"And what are you looking for ?" You teasingly asked with a fuckboy grin on your face
Yoshida looked at you clearly worried about your mental state before calmly answering "right now? To leave"
He smiled at you before going down the stairs
'I hate his smile' You thought to yourself before rolling your eyes in annoyance as you stood up to try and catch up to him
"Wait..." you stopped halfway on the stairs while he was at the bottom
He turned around to look at you and see what else you had to say
"Can I have your number?" You awkwardly asked
Yoshida's eyes squinted for a second as he spoke
"Are you serious?"
He was clearly annoyed but you didn't understand why
"Yeah why not?" You bluntly asked
"I really didn't think you were this dumb"
His arrogant tone really pissed you off this time, who did he think he was you thought
"Look I'm just tryna socialize with you no need to act like a dick, dickhead" you retorted Confidently
"Listen, I don't need friends. But if I had one advice to give you it would be to start thinking a little bit more before acting" he calmly said but still with condescension
"Oh so now I'm dumb ? Do you have anything nice to say or is being mean in your genes" you rolled your eyes finally giving up, the before going down the stairs to leave
You really wanted to know more about him and to get closer but you didn't get why Yoshida was so hard to get close to
If he really didn't want to hang out with you why didn't he just ignored you back at the party and even the rest didn't make sense, how he lied for you and brought you back home safely
It just didn't make sense
You walked past him thinking that this was it, and that Yoshida was just another boy among the others
But your thought was interrupted pretty quickly by none other than the arrogant prick itself
"So you don't see the problem with going into the car of a stranger at night and sleeping with him right after while being drunk ?" After he spoke you stopped walking and just waited a few seconds to think about what he said
Is this why he didn't want to give you his number ? You didn't know for sure but why would he tell you this ? Does he think what you did last time was bad ? You liked it though so you didn't see a problem
"Humm I don't know what you mean by that, I mean Yeah going into some strangers car at night is bad but like I'm still alive so... who cares ?" You looked at his now dumbfounded expression before adding
"Look, I think you're overthinking this whole thing I don't mind what happened last night and if you want we could even be friends, how's that?" You smiled feeling confident that yoshida would now finally give you his number
"I'm gonna hit you"
"Huh?"
"No no I'm seriously gonna hit you" he repeated with a blank expression that creeped you out
"Hold on a second! What did I do once again ???" You asked worriedly
"You know what you need ? You need therapy" yoshida said with his eyes squinted in annoyance
You didn't know what to say so you kept looking at him nervously
"Give me your phone" he firmly asked but in an almost casual voice that startled you for a second before you quickly searched for your phone and gave it to him
"So now you finally decided to give me your number?" You playfully asked in order to tease him
"Nah I'm just calling the hospital" yoshida answered not looking directly at you as he was typing on your phone
"Haha real funny" you rolled your eyes before going next to him to see what he was doing
And to your content he was saving his number
Once he finished he saw you smiling which made him already regret his action
"I'm not tryna be friends with you, you just look scarily dumb and it's actually worrisome so only use my number if you're in trouble"
Your smile quickly changed into an infuriated stare, you harshly grabbed your phone before making your way out of the staircase
"If you wanna help me stop being a jerk it doesn't suits you dickhead" you loudly spat at him before walking out the door
Yoshida was left agape you really were something
"I sincerely didn't think you were this annoying" he mumbled to himself before chuckling and going further down the stairs heading to the floor below.
