After their talk and Carina getting to know the reason behind Mayas mood this morning. Discovering the team have continued their childish behaviour behind her back but nice to her face she could see why Maya was feeling so frustrated.
As Maya was cuddled up to her on the sofa sleeping and Carina running her fingers up and down the blonde back which helped the blonde relax. Carina saw the the tension leave her loves body with every stroke. It pained the doctor to see her girlfriend who is in her opinion one of the strongest people in her life hurt.
Carina had thought a few times just go down to the station and go off on them about how they are treating their Captain, the mother of her son. She's had to talk herself out of it a number of times knowing it wouldn't help much. Well it could get the lieutenant off of her. Every time she is in the ER and 19 are bringing in a patient. He is there and always comes up to her to talk.
One time Carina was standing at the nurses table looking over a patients chart when he came over. She was secretly down there as there was a big fire and all firefighters needed to be check afterwards so she was hoping to see her girlfriend.
He smelt disgusting no worse repulsive covered in whatever it was at the fire. Carina internally gagged.
"Hey you beautiful. Haven't seen you in a while how are you doing" he smiled and winked.
"Uhh I'm good, but if you don't mind going somewhere else I'm trying to concentrate on my patients chart and quite frankly you stink" Carina grimaced as she saw he took a half step closer.
"Oh I know sorry about that. How about I take you out for dinner to show you that" he leaned in closer if Carina didn't lean back she was sure he was going to try something more than just talk "I can clean up nice and treat you to a lovely meal at a restaurant maybe back to mine for dessert" he winked again. She tried to do an internal eye roll but she did right in his face.
"Not sorry but one you have to back up, two I am seeing someone who is a much better person than you and three I... I..."
"Aww see you can't even come up with a third reason. Come on I know you've thought about me. And hey who's better than a firefighter." He was so cocky that Carina just wanted to blurt out that she was seeing his captain but as she opened her mouth to speak Bailey came back with the paperwork Gibson was waiting
"Here Gibson, your paperwork now get out of my ER" she all but through the papers at him. As he stuttered a little the chief just gave him the look and he walked away.
"Oh he stinks I hope the rest of the firefighters later come in for their checks don't smell like that either. I don't want to have to fumigate the ER."
Laughing "mmm I think you should have it on standby. But thank you Bailey I tried to get him to back off but he keeps on me. I almost told him I'm his Captains girlfriend. And when he asked me out again uhh he was such a man about it let's go out for a nice meal and back to mine for dessert Uhh men"
Laughing at the Italians antics. "I know I saw the whole thing happen why do you think I came over. I know you and Bishop want to keep this to yourselves and I know the reasonings so I'm not saying tell them yet but you know the station's annual spaghetti dinner is coming up families of the the team are meant to join. So are you going to join them?"
"I know Maya and I have spoken about it. She wants us there. I want to be there but things still aren't good at the station. Yes they have been nicer and actually listening to Mayas orders but she still hears them when they think she's not there saying how bad she is or what they would've done differently on a call. She was actually happy for a few days thinking that they had changed and warmed up to her being Captain but she was crushed when she overheard them again. You know when her shift is over she has these blinders on that the other day she walked right past Matteo who was calling out for her then done it again as she walked out of the apartment. When she came back she had know idea she did that. She is so pissed off and frustrated that she didn't hear her own son calling her."
"Wow was it that bad"
"Si she told me the other day she preferred they'd go back to ignoring her so she knew where she stood."
"Well I would suggest you and Maya.." Bailey was cut off by her pager
"Go it's okay we can finish this later" with that he chief ran outside.
Not too long later Carina was called to deliver a baby. It was bad timing because half way through it was when station 19 came to the ER to get their checks done and of course they had to be the last group getting checked.
Mayas eyes were looking all around her wondering is Carina was about. As she made I contact with Teddy she came over "hi Maya I'll do your check now no point keeping you waiting."
"Thank you. Umm have you seen.."
Cutting her off "she got paged not too long ago she was down here for a bit I think waiting for you to come by"
The captain rolled her eyes of course this was typical missing each other.
"Hey why'd she get checked first she wasn't even in the fire we were and she's the Captain shouldn't she wait to see if her team have past yet"
"Oh please can I say something he has been really pissing me off the past few times he's been here" Amelia came up beside them
"So it's not just you I've had a few complaints from the nurses too he's always asking for a certain doctor he even asked them to page her one day. They told him she was in surgery he tried to insist but Ben pulled him away before he could. Oh sorry Maya I bet you don't want to hear this" the cardiologist spoke.
"Oh no don't worry we have no secrets I had about that but unfortunately I can't do anything unless it's an actual complaint otherwise it would look as if carina asked me to do something."
"Jeez she needs to doctors maybe they can fix her personality too"
Maya looked at both faces of the doctor and grabbed onto both of them as they turned round "stop, it's not worth it"
"Right Gibson is it you come with me now, maybe I can fix your personality" as Jacks eyes went wide teddy and Amelia smirked. The person who was behind him was Dr Owen Hunt and by the time of his voice he wasn't too happy. Neither of the hospitals staff were too fond of station 19 team as they have heard first hand the disrespect they give their Captain and because Maya has been visiting Carina she has gotten to know them pretty well. They have became quite fond of her and would do anything for her. She's part of the Grey Sloan family.
As they didn't have secrets between them they both knew what had happened that day. Maya was very grateful for to have them with her. That day did however bring up a conversation that they still needed to have.
Carina decided that after Maya wakes up from her nap they will talk about it but so many questions were running through her head.
'What will happen at the spaghetti dinner? It's only a week away. Am I going to go? Obviously I'm invited as grey Sloan doctors are if they aren't on shift and if I do Matteo will be there and our secret will be out. Are we really ready for that? What will their reaction be? So many unanswered questions' sighing as she lay her head on Mayas she took in how her life has really changed she she met Captain Maya Bishop well she was a lieutenant at the time. A smile graced upon her face.
This had been the happiest time in her life since she found out she was pregnant. She couldn't imagine life with the blonde asleep next to her. Carina made a mental note to talk to Maya about the past few days. Just because of their two apartments and going back and fourth she hasn't seen her. Should they move in together? They would spend more time with each other even if it's just sharing the same bed and both women have admitted drunkenly but still admitted that they sleep better beside one another. Carina laughed at the memory.
Flashback
The couple met up with Amelia, Teddy, Bailey, Meredith, Jo and Maggie at a new bar in Seattle. The men were taking care of the kids tonight. Meaning Link, Owen, Ben and Andrew.
The drinks were flowing, it didn't take to long for everyone to be tipsy or drunk.
"Hey you two now why haven't you moved in together yet? You need to live together" Bailey the drunkest one out of them all slurring her words asked. Everyone looked towards the couple thinking the same thing but not wanting to ask.
"Uhh we aren't ready yet but we will eventually right bambina" not knowing what to say she wanted the attention off of her so she gave it to Maya to answer.
"Oh I see what you did there." Maya just as drunk as Bailey slurred and tried to glare at the Italian "yes we will move in together but not yet. I do however find I sleep better when I'm beside you" Maya however thought she whispered the last bit but instead of quietening her voice she raised it their friends heard her and the people around them. "Oops I didn't mean to say that so loud." She spoke as she rested her head on the table.
"I feel the same way bella. Especially after you give me a few mind blowing orgasms." Carina smirked as the blondes head shot up and put her hand over Carinas mouth.
"Carina shhh"
"Ohh this night just getting better come on now we need details" Amelia and Maya spoke at the same time.
"Agreed" the entire table looked towards the end of the table at their chief. "What it is no secret that my Ben has changed careers and let me tell you he had stamina in the bedroom before but now as a firefighter there's more. So just think that's Ben an older firefighter got more think about Maya as a firefighter but ALSO oops I almost spilt my drink, how dare I do that" laughing it off Bailey continues not caring at the amused faces of the girls. " we're was I oh yes, Maya you are also an Olympian so that just extra stamina ohhh man I wouldn't mind a shot of that" smirking looking at the Captain who's eyes widened and mouth opened "okay I think I'm drunk I just said I wouldn't mind sleeping with my husband boss who's not only a women but her girlfriend who works for me is right there" Bailey whisper yelled to the table but of course everyone heard and laughed. That's how that night continued with laughs and making new memories.
