(Ying is an OC from my Yin and Yang book)
(Readers POV)
Me, Ruby, Weiss and Yang all walked out of the dust mines with Qrow, Jaune, Ren, Nora and the Ace Operatives.
Ruby: How the Ace Ops worked together like that was amazing! They didn't even need to say a word to each other, they were so synchronized!
Weiss: It was pretty impressive, admittedly.
Yang: What did you think (Y/N)?
(Y/N): ...Why are you all gushing over them? In time, they'll be below us and we'll impress them.
Yang: I like that attitude babe!
She wrapped her arm around my neck and placed a kiss on my cheek.
(Y/N): You still have to do this in front of people?
I saw Harriet walking towards us.
Harriet: So you think we are a bunch of push overs? When if it was just you in that mine you would've already been exploded.
(Y/N): Why wouldn't I see you as a challenge?
Harriet: Hehe, alright. I guess I'll have to be careful about you. Your semblance to take a lot of damage or whatever it was is a dangerous one.
(Y/N): My semblance allows me to get more defensive the more damage I take.
Harriet: Still don't care.
I got mad and was about to make her care, but Clover got everyone's attention.
Clover: Ok everyone! This mission was a success! Let's get over to the bullheads and we can make our way back to Atlas.
As we started to walk towards the bullheads, a dark red portal opened up in the open snowy area. It was definitely Raven's portal. Everyone got defensive, just incase a fireball was about to fly out of it.
Qrow: What does she want now?
I was expecting Raven to walk out of the portal, but instead a girl who's bloodied and bruised walked out. Her hair is the same color as mine and her eyes are a light bluish color. She was stumbling towards me.
Ying: H-Help...
She passed out and fell face first into the snow. I ran over to her and I can feel a subtle pulse. I picked her up.
(Y/N): Crap, we need to get her help now!
Everyone nodded as we ran into a bullhead. I gently placed the girl on the seats. Jaune walked up to her and started to give her aura.
Jaune: She barely has any aura left, but I should be able to restore it.
I watched as Jaune gave her his aura. The girl's wounds slowly healed. Who is this girl? And why did she come from Raven's portal? I guess the answers for those questions will have to wait when she wakes up.
(Time Skip)
Me, Ruby, Weiss, and Yang are in our dorm room as the girl was laying down in my bed. We just waited for her to wake up. We heard her groan, making everyone look over at her.
Ying: ...Huh? Where am I?
She looked around and saw us looking at her.
Ruby: Hello! Good to see you've recovered nicely.
I walked up to the bed and looked at the girl.
(Y/N): Who are you?
Ying: Me? I-I'm...
(Y/N): Hurry up!
She got scared as she got out of the bed and quickly hid behind Yang, Weiss, and Ruby.
Ying: ...He's scary.
Scary? Yang smiled at me then looked back at her.
Yang: Don't worry about (Y/N). He won't actually do anything.
(Y/N): I didn't plan to hurt her!
Weiss: You find any excuse to get mad huh?
(Y/N): Weiss, now is not the time.
Ruby looked over at the girl and put her hand on her shoulder.
Ruby: So what's your name?
Ying: M-My name is Ying.
We got a name out. That's progress I guess.
(Y/N): Why were you injured when you came out of Raven's portal?
Ying: O-Oh. Ummm...
I got a little mad. Ying keeps dodging my questions! I took a step forward, making Ying hide more.
Yang: Geez (Y/N). You still don't know how to talk to girls.
(Y/N): She keeps dodging my questions!
Ying: Still scary.
Ruby: Ying, would you be more comfortable if (Y/N) wasn't here?
Ying nodded her head.
Weiss: You saw her. Get out.
I got mad. I walked over to the door and opened it.
(Y/N): Whatever. I'm going to hang out with Jaune, Ren, and Nora.
I walked out the room and slammed the door shut.
(Ying's POV)
I watched as (Y/N) slammed the door shut. I let out a sigh.
Yang: Ok. So what happened to you?
Ying: Well... I was fighting some Grimm with Raven and she sent me here.
Ruby: How do you know Raven?
Ying: ...I'm... I'm her daughter.
The three girls looked at me.
Ruby: Yang. Does that mean I have a second half sister?
Yang: I don't know.
I got nervous. Did I say something wrong?
Yang: That's a lot to unpack. I think you should just get some more rest.
I nodded my head as I walked back to the bed I was laying in earlier. I watched as the three girls walked out of the room. I slowly closed my eyes. I heard the door open. I opened my eyes and saw (Y/N) inside. He was looking around for something.
Ying: H-Hey.
He looked over at me.
(Y/N): Oh. Sorry. I'll leave.
He started to leave. I got up and grabbed his arm, making him stop.
Ying: I'm sorry for making you leave. I was just nervous. I never been around so many people before.
(Y/N): Oh. It's fine.
He got out of my grasp and walked over to a bag. He grabbed his gauntlets out of it and put them on.
(Y/N): I'm going on a mission.
Ying: Can... Can I help?
(Y/N): Can you fight?
Ying: Yep. My mom and dad taught me how to fight.
(Y/N): Really? I hope they know a thing or two.
(Time Skip)
Me, Ruby, Weiss, Yang, and (Y/N) all walked into their dorm room, tired. We all let out a deep sigh.
Ruby: I'm really tired.
Yang: Yeah, tell me about it.
Weiss: I had no idea we'd do all this missions in a row.
I saw (Y/N) walk over to a small fridge and tossed a cold bottle of water to Ruby, Weiss, and Yang.
Yang: Thanks (Y/N)! I think you deserve a reward.
(Y/N): I hope it's sleep. Catch.
He then tossed a bottle of water to me. I opened it and took a sip from it.
Ying: Ah. Thanks dad.
I just realized what I said and I slapped my hand over my mouth as my face heated up. I looked at everyone and they all looked at me weirdly.
Yang: Did she just say what I think she said?
(Y/N): Listen. I don't mind helping you, but don't bring your kinks into it.
Ying: I-It's not like that!
I hid my face with my hands. I started to subconsciously use my semblance. My hair went ablaze.
Ruby: Yang. That's a lot like your semblance.
Oh no, I blowing it! I stopped using my semblance and looked at everyone.
Ruby: Ying. Is there something you're not telling us?
I think I should tell them now. I took a deep breath.
Ying: I'm from the future!
Everyone: The future?!
Weiss: How did you get here from the future?
Ruby: What is the future like?
Yang: Is the future nice?
Ying: Um... No, it really isn't. The future is on the brink of ruin. There are barely anyone left that have the will to fight against the threat of the Grimm. Humanity is on its last thread and I found a way to travel back in time.
(Y/N): Time travel? How did you manage that?
Ying: Well Raven, the Spring Maiden, figured out that she can combine her semblance with the Maiden powers and cut a portal through time. I hope to somehow find a way to save the future.
Ruby: Wait. So if you're from the future, does that mean that (Y/N) is your future dad?
I nodded my head yes. I pointed at Yang.
Ying: And she's my mother.
Yang started to celebrate and wrapped her arms around (Y/N) in a tight hug.
Yang: I knew we would do it eventually!
(Y/N): You can let go now.
Ruby: I just realized that I'm an aunt now! At least I think.
Weiss: Now that I look at you, I do see similarities between you and (Y/N) and Yang.
They are taking this way more well than I expected. Yang eventually stopped hugging (Y/N) and looked over at me.
Yang: Wait. So how were you using my semblance earlier?
Ying: It's a part of my semblance. I call it Family Bond. I can use any semblance that's within my family tree.
Ruby: That's so cool! So you can use mine?!
I nodded my head. I heard their scrolls start to ring. They all looked at them and sighed.
Ying: More missions?
They all nodded their heads yes. I let out a sigh.
(Y/N): Let's get this over with.
Weiss: We'll just have another mission afterwards.
We all walked out of our room.
(Time Skip)
It's now late at night. I was trying to sleep, but I couldn't. I looked over and saw Ruby, Weiss, (Y/N), and Yang all asleep peacefully in their beds. I started to think about my future and their fates with that future.
Ying: I don't want that to happen...
I whispered to myself as I started to shake in my bed. I took a few deep breaths to try to calm myself down. I let out a few tears from my eyes as I started to sob.
(Y/N): ...Huh?
I looked over at (Y/N) and saw him get up slightly and looking at me.
(Y/N): Hey. Are you ok?
He got up from his bed and walked over to mine, sitting down next to me.
Ying: It's just... I see all your faces and I think back to what happens in the future.
(Y/N): Oh... This might be a mistake, but what happens to me?
Ying: You... Salem takes control of your body and your forced to be her pawn.
(Y/N) took his thumb and wiped away the tears in my eyes.
(Y/N): Thanks for telling me. Now I'll make sure something like that never happens.
Ying: Really? Are you sure you can do something like that?
(Y/N): Clearly you don't know your dad well enough. I promise I refuse to let something like that happen to me.
I can't believe he's so confident in himself. Mom and Aunt Ruby were right about dad. I looked away from (Y/N).
Ying: ...Only if you promise.
(Y/N) put his hand on my shoulder, making me look up at him. He gave me a small smile. I couldn't help but feel a bit better and smile back.
(Y/N): Get some sleep. We're going to need it for tomorrow.
I nodded my head. (Y/N) got up and went back to his bed, laying down in it. I tried to go back asleep, but I couldn't. I stood up and walked over to (Y/N). I poked his shoulder.
(Y/N): Hm? What now?
He groaned as he moved his head to look over at me, his eyes barely open. I felt my face heat up.
Ying: Well... I have trouble sleeping by myself.
(Y/N) just groaned and scooted over in his bed.
(Y/N): Get in. I don't care, as long as you let me get back to sleep.
I nodded my head and got into his bed. I got under his covers and faced my back towards (Y/N). I closed my eyes. After awhile, I felt arms wrap around me. I looked back and saw (Y/N) holding me and he's already asleep.
Ying: (Y-Y/N)...
I started to feel weirdly nostalgic, having him hold me. I smiled to myself, enjoying this feeling. I closed my eyes as I put one of my hands on (Y/N)'s arm that's around me. I shed another tear from my eye.
Ying: Good night.
I now have this new determination to help protect the ones in this time so the future will be brighter. I quickly started to drift off into sleep.
(Time Skip) (Readers POV)
Me, Yang, and Ying are in Mantle, killing some stray Grimm that wandered in from the outside fields of snow.
Yang: (Y/N)! To your right!
I looked over and saw Yang punch a Grimm over to me. I got one of my shields ready and swung the Grimm upward. Ying jumped up and kicked it, splitting the Grimm in half from her kick. The Grimm faded to dust as Ying landed on her feet.
(Y/N): Man Ying. Future me must've taught you those moves.
Her face went red as she started to rub the back of her head while letting out a small laugh.
Ying: Well you and mother were really great fighters, so it's only natural that I got this good.
Yang: I'm sure it was mostly me.
(Y/N): Yeah right!
Yang: You can't prove me wrong. You're not the one from the future.
(Y/N): Ying! Prove her wrong!
Ying: U-Um... I don't think now is the time for this.
I saw a shadow looming over me.
Yang and Ying: (Y/N)! Look out!
I looked behind me and saw a huge Grimm, about to attack me. I was about to defend myself, but Ying turned into a bunch of rose petals and got in front of me. She blocked the attack from the Grimm, most likely using my semblance to do so. Her hair then went ablaze as her eyes went red and she punched the Grimm, killing it in one attack.
(Y/N): Wow...
She turned around and put her hands on my shoulders.
Ying: Are you ok?! You aren't hurt, are you?!
I just smirked at her and I took her hands off me.
(Y/N): I'm fine. You don't have to worry about me like that.
She gave me a concerned look. I walked past her and looked over at Yang.
(Y/N): This area looks clear of Grimm. We should head over to Ruby and Weiss and make sure they're doing alright.
Yang: Gotcha. I'm sure they won't need the help, but it wouldn't hurt.
(Y/N): Come on Ying, let's get going.
Me and Yang started to run, but Ying quickly got in front of us and stopped us.
Ying: Wait a minute! Let me help!
She took a deep breath as a dark red aura surrounded her hand. She chopped the air, making a dark red portal open.
(Y/N): That's Raven's semblance.
Ying: I told you, didn't I? I can use any semblance within my family tree. Let's hurry up and help Aunt Ruby and Weiss!
Ruby isn't technically an aunt yet, but whatever works I guess. The three of us jumped through the portal, ending up at a different end of Mantle. We saw Ruby and Weiss fighting a huge Grimm that looks like a wooly mammoth.
Ruby: Oh, hey guys! We could use a bit of help!
(Y/N): Of course you do.
I jumped ahead. I tried punching the Grimm on its leg, but it didn't do much. It kicked me away and I crashed into a building. That actually hurt.
Ying: (Y/N)!
Weiss used some Ice Dust and froze one of its legs in place. Yang and Ruby quickly went over to it and both attacked it, destroying the leg. The Grimm whaled in pain. I quickly stood up.
(Y/N): I'm not going to let them get all the credit.
I ran towards it. The Grimm tried to use its other leg to kick Yang and Ruby away, but I got in front of them and put my shields up, stopping the kick.
Yang: Yeah! That's what I like to see from you!
She patted my back.
(Y/N): Now isn't the time for that crap!
I pushed the Grimm's leg back, knocking it down. I thought of an idea. I grabbed Yang by her arm and threw her as high as I could.
Ruby: What?
(Y/N): Ying! Make a portal to Yang!
Ying: O-Ok!
She chopped the air, making a portal. I quickly jumped through it and I appeared next to Yang in the air.
Yang: Hellooo.~
(Y/N): Let's kill this thing.
I grabbed Yang's arm again and started to spin her around really fast. We quickly came down. I threw Yang down at the Grimm and she punched right through its head, thanks to the momentum she had. Yang's fist hit the road, making a huge crack. The Grimm body slowly faded away into dust. I landed on the ground and wiped my forehead of any sweat. I saw Ying running over to me Yang.
Ying: That was dangerous! You could've gotten really hurt!
Yang: But we didn't, so it's all good.
Ying started to hug me and Yang at the same time.
Ying: I just don't want anything bad to happen to you...
(Y/N): That's just how our team does it. It's a dangerous job, so it's only natural bad things happen from time to time.
Ying looked up at me. Her eyes looked a bit different than usual. I couldn't put my finger on it though.
Ying: I want to keep you safe, that's all I want. That's all I've ever wanted.
(Ying's POV)
I quickly activated Yang's semblance and hit Yang and (Y/N) on the heads as hard as I could, knocking them out.
Ruby: Ying!
Weiss: Why did you knock them out?!
Ying: I now know how to protect you all. This all happened because you are Huntsmen and Huntresses. So if I make you stop doing this job, you'll be safe.
I looked over at Aunt Ruby and Weiss while smiling.
Ying: I'm the future. I know what will happen and it's something none of us want to go through. Please. You'll help me, right?
They readied their weapons.
Ruby: You hurt my teammates and friends. I'll have to fight against you.
Weiss: I'm with Ruby. You can't just do whatever you want just because you're from the future.
I started to laugh. I should've know they would resist, if any of the stories my mom told me were anything to go by.
Ying: Hehehe... Hahaha... HAHAHAHAHA!!!
Aunt Ruby and Weiss took a step back in surprise. I quickly turned into rose petals and dashed at the two. Before they could act, I kicked their weapons out of their hands. Aunt Ruby quickly head butted me in the nose. I started to bleed. A white glyph appeared underneath me, making me slip forward.
Ying: I'll save you! By any means!
I quickly made a portal under me, making me fall in it and I appeared above Aunt Ruby and Weiss. I grabbed the back of their heads and slammed them down on the ground, knocking them out too.
Ying: Good... Good... I'll help you. Just let me help you.
I picked their bodies up and went over to mom and dad's unconscious bodies, picking them up too.
Ying: It's about time to take you all somewhere safe.
I started to walk away. I heard one of their scrolls start to ring. I grabbed it and shattered it in my hands, stopping the ringing. My scroll started to ring too. I looked at it and it's Harriet. I got mad and threw the scroll down at the ground, breaking it.
Ying: No one will stop me from my mission...
(Time Skip) (Readers POV)
I slowly opened my eyes. My head started to ache. I tried to grab my head, but I couldn't move my arms. I looked behind me and saw that my arms are tied behind me with chains.
(Y/N): What the hell is going on? Where am I?
I looked around and I saw that I'm in a corner of a dark room. I saw that Ruby, Weiss, and Yang are in the other corners of the room, and they're unconscious.
(Y/N): Hey! You three! Wake up!
They started to groan as they opened their eyes, seeing that they are in the same situation as me.
Yang: What's going on?
(Y/N): Your guess is as good as mine.
Weiss: I don't want to hear your smart mouth right now
Ruby: Wait! Where's Ying?!
Ruby started to struggle, but failing to get out of her restraints.
Yang: Ruby? What's wrong?
Weiss: Ying is crazy. She knocked all of us out. She's most likely the reason we are here.
Everyone started to hear distant footsteps that echoed through out the empty room. A door opened and Ying walked in. She has a smile on her face as she's holding a large tray of food.
Ying: You all are awake. I'm happy to see that.
Me, Ruby, Weiss, and Yang all stayed silent while she walked over to us, placing food near us. She gave everyone some food and smiled again.
Ying: Eat up. I tried my best to make some tasty stuff.
Ying looked over at everyone, we kept silent again. If Ying brought us over here, then who knows what she'll be able to do when we are in this situation.
Ying: Why aren't you guys talking? At least eat your food. It's going to get cold.
Ying slammed the tray down on the ground.
Ying: I'm not crazy! Weiss is lying!
Ruby: Weiss isn't. You attacked us and brought us here!
Ying: It's because I want to keep you safe!
Ying held onto herself and started to sway back and forth.
Ying: I finally have a chance to have the family I never could. I've been nothing but nice to you. I never could get the love I've wanted at my time, but now I can! We can be family! I can get what I wanted!
Yang: Ying. You need to calm down.
Ying: I am calm!
Ying wiped some tears from her eyes.
Ying: I-I'm sorry for yelling.
(Y/N): Listen, Ying. We need to stop Salem so she doesn't destroy the world. If you let us go now, I'm willing to let this slide.
Ruby, Weiss, and Yang all looked at me confused. I just nodded my head slightly at them. Ying walked over to me and bent down on her knees to stare at me in the eyes.
Ying: You can't go near Salem. She's the reason you become a puppet to her.
(Y/N): You know me right? You know I wouldn't let something like that happen.
Ying got mad at me as her hair went on fire, punching me in the stomach.
Ruby, Weiss, Yang: (Y/N)!
I gasped for air as all of it got knocked out of my body.
Ying: I won't lose you again. I refuse to let that happen. So just accept life with me. Life with your family.
She got up and walked over to the door. She looked back at everyone.
Ying: You're lucky I kept Aunt Ruby and Weiss alive. Just remember that, mom and dad. Love you.
She left the room, closing the door behind her.
Yang: Are you ok?
(Y/N): Yeah, I'm fine...
Weiss: We can't stay here.
(Y/N): Ya... I know.
We just need some time to think of a plan. That might be hard, since Ying is probably listening in on us right now.
(Y/N): Let's just rest for now.
Ruby: Ok, that's our best bet for the moment.
This is going to suck. I tried to reach over to my food, but I couldn't because my arms are tied behind my back.
(Y/N): Damn it...
