"WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT?" I barge into Jeremiah's room after the call ends.
"What?" He asks as if he doesn't know.
"That- that, thing on the phone!" I protest.
"Oh, that?" He laughs. "Well I assume that Taylor and Belly are obviously going to be talking as well over the next few weeks, and it would definitely help my case if Taylor's gushing to Belly about us being all over each other."
"That's not your choice to make!" I argue.
"Oh, but it's yours?" He raises his eyebrows.
"Yes! She's my friend!" I shout.
"I'd say 'sorry'," He pauses. "But I'm not."
"Asshole." I walk out of his room, angry.

It's been a few days since the phone thing, it's difficult even ACTING lovey dovey around him because I'm still flustered about the phone situation.
"Trouble in paradise?" Conrad asks from behind me.
He sits next to me in the sand. I look over.
"It's nothing." I say. "And there's no 'paradise' me and Jere aren't a thing." I explain.
"You're not?" He asks.
"Nope, never were." I look back.
"Oh," He says thoughtfully, "I- I assumed-"
I stop him, "Don't." I smile.
He nods and we both look out at the ocean.
"How's all the deb stuff going?" He asks.
"Eh, I still don't have an escort. Paige is on my ass about it." I laugh, he joins.
"Yeah, she's pretty strict." He agrees.
I nod.
"What about you?" I ask. "How are things going?"
"Like what?" He asks.
"Just, life." I say.
He pauses for a moment, thinking.
"It's going, I guess." He says, not looking over.
"Are you doing okay?" I bump my shoulder into him softly.
Now he looks over, deep into my eyes.
His eyes wander down to my lips, I notice and mine do the same.
He starts to lean in but stops, "My uh- my mom wanted me to come and tell you that dinner will be ready in ten minutes. It's chicken parmesan."
He quickly stands up and starts walking back to the house.
I almost just kissed Conrad Fisher...
