Measuring up to a Viking Father isn't easy, especially when your father is also the chief of your village
(The Great Hall)
Hiccup and Stoick were at the Great Hall Stoick was holding a sword while Hiccup was holding a shield
The reason behind this was that Bucket was painting a portrait of them to hang it on the walls of the Great Hall
"Shoulders back and chin up son" Stoick said to Hiccup who did as he was told "This portrait is going to hang in this hall forever"
Suddenly Bucket stopped painting and cleaned some dust from Stoick's shoulder and straightened Hiccup's shield "I can't do this" Bucket said before he pounded his head against a pillar "Okay, I'm good"
"I've never seen Bucket like this" Hiccup whispered "Well, after he lost half his brain, he became an artist" Stoick said as Bucket placed some paint on the shiel he was using to make the portrait
"So, he actually paints?" Hiccup asked "Oh, he's the best of the best" Stoick said
"He's going to make us proud of portrait will take its place alongside all the other chiefs and sons" Stoick said gesturing at the other portraits
"That is the only picture of me and my own father" Stoick said looking at the portrait of himself and his father "It was a great day, and so this is"
"Chest out son" Stoick said when he and Hiccup looked at the front again
Hiccup took a deep breath to expand his chest but seconds later he let it out in a deep huff "Yeah, this is as out as it goes dad" Hiccup said
"Ah, very well then" Stoick said
(Night time in the Great Hall)
Sometime later while the adults were eating the teens were looking at the other portraits of the other chiefs
"Look at all these great leaders" Astrid said amazed "Hiccup, you should feel honored to be joining them tomorrow" Blake said
"There goes the neighborhood" Snotlout said "You're part of an elite group my friend" Fishegs said as they walked in front of the portraits
"And one of a few who wasn't killed by the successor" Fishlegs said "So far" Tuffnut muttered with a chuckle
"I guess it is a big deal, I mean it's like being part of the history, right?" Hiccup said
"A story of goofballs" Snotlout said pointing at a portrait of a blonde Viking and his son
"That's Hamish the First" Fisglegs gasped "Hamish the First?" Blake repeated not knowing who he was
"Our richest and most revered leader" Fishlegs explained "And the other is his son Hamish the Second"
"I'm Hamish the First" Snotlout said with an annoying voice "Bow down before me and kiss my pointy shoes"
The twins chuckled and pushed Snotlout making the portrait of Hamish fall on Snotlout's head
"Look what you did to the Hamishes" Fishlegs said picking up the painting "Forgive us please" he said putting the painting where it belongs but a single sheet fell from it
"What's this?" Blake said picking up the sheet "It looks like some kind of map" Snotlout said grabbing the sheet "With poetry"
"I'll take that" Gobber said taking the sheet away from the teens "Hey, that's my poetry map" Snotlout said
"What's wrong with the map dad, is it supposed to be destroyed or something?" Blake asked guessing the reason why Gobber took it
"Actually yes, this was supposed to be destroyed" Gobber said "Why? What's so special about it?" Astrid said trying to grab the map from Gobber's hand
"Men lost their limbs, their lives and their minds trying to find that treasure" Gobber explained "But what kind of treasure could be that hard to find?" Blake asked
"The treasure of Hamish the first" Fishlegs said "His son buried him with it and left this map, they say the clues are so complicated that only a brilliant mind could decipher them"
"Stoick and I even went after that treasure" Gobber said "And we were lucky to make it back alive with our friendship intact, for your own good kids, forget you ever saw this" Gobber said taking the map with him leaving the teens
(The next day)
In the morning everyone went to the Great Hall to see the portrait of Hiccup and Stoick, the painting was next to them covered with a purple blanket
"Here it comes son, this is our legacy" Stoick said proudly gesturing the painting
When the portrait was revealed, Hiccup first was happy but then he was terribly disappointed, Stoick looked the same on the painting but Hiccup didn't
He looked more muscular than Snotlout and he also looked ready for the fight at all times
"Um... I'm sorry but is that supposed to be Hiccup?" Blake asked pointing at the painting "What happened to him?" Tuffnut asked confused
"Who cares?" Astrid said while she and Ruffnut looked like they fall in love with the Hiccup of the painting
"Hey Bucket, why I'm so like... that?" Hiccup asked gesturing the painting
"Why is the sky blue? Why do I have a bucket on me head? We'll never know the answers" Bucket said
"You did a brilliant job Bucket" Stoick said "Don't you think so son?"
"But it's not me" Hiccup said "Sure it is, just bigger and stronger" Stoick said
Hiccup was only able to see the painting completely disappointed
(Berk's Plaza)
Hiccup, Astrid and Blake were walking around the plaza talking about the events in the Great Hall
"Unbelievable, my father likes that painting better than the real me" Hiccup said still upset "I mean think about it even my name, you know it's a Viking tradition to name the runt of the litter 'Hiccup'"
"Come on, that can't be true" Blake said trying to cheer Hiccup up but a Viking who was walking nearby was leading some sheep
"Come on little Hiccup" the Viking said when the smallest sheep was left behind, the Viking picked up the sheep before noticing the teens "Oh, hello Hiccup" the Viking said before leaving
Hiccup and Astrid glared at Blake after the Viking left "Okay, point taken" Blake said
"What do I have to do to get my father to accept me" Hiccup groaned "He does accept you" Astrid said "He just accepts the painting more"
"Astrid, that's not helping either" Blake said
Moments later they arrived at the forge and saw Fishlegs just standing there
"Fishlegs what are you doing just standing there?" Blake asked confused "Nothing" Fishlegs said before starting to make bird noises
"Okay, where are they?" Hiccup asked but Fishlegs continued with his bird noises, Hiccup, Astrid and Blake walked by and saw the twins looking at a window and Snotlout crawling out of it
"What are you doing?" Hiccup asked "I've got the map, we're finding that treasure" Snotlout said before looking at Fishlegs "And you are a horrible lookout"
"Please tell me you're joking" Blake said in disbelief "The bravest warriors in history have died trying to find that treasure" Astrid said scolding Snotlout
"Yeah, and I'm next" Snotlout said "Are you even listening, not even Stoick was able to find it" Blake said
When Blake said that Hiccup smiled when an idea appeared in his head "You're right, he couldn't" Hiccup said walking towards Snotlout "Give me the map" Hiccup said taking the map
"Finally, someone's making sense" Astrid said "Astrid I'm sorry but I've seen that face on Hiccup before and you're not going to like what's comming next" Blake warned confusing Astrid
"Alright, where do we start" Hiccup said looking at the map "Are you serious?" Astrid asked "I told you" Blake whispered
"Think about it, my father couldn't find that treasure, what would he say if I did something that Stoick the vast couldn't do" Hiccup said
"You're going to do this no matter what we say, right?" Astrid asked "So, I'm in"
"So, you're not going to give me a hard time about this?" Hiccup asked "I'm going to give you a hard time every step of the way" Astrid said putting a finger on Hiccup's chest
"What about you Blake? Are you in?" Hiccup asked
"Okay, I'm in, you are really going to need all the help you can get, especially if you want to go with these two" Blake said whispering and pointing at the twins in the final part
Hiccup turned around and saw the twins hitting each other "Good point" Hiccup said looking back at the map
"Looks like the map leads you to these spots" Hiccup said looking at the drawings "And the riddles are clues of what we're supposed to find" Fishlegs said looking at the writing
"Blah, blah, blah, where's the treasure" Snotlout asked getting impatient
"We're getting to that Snotlout" Blake said before starting to read the first clue "Clue number one: Where the land meets the sea, in the crook of the master's knee, that's where your search will begin"
"That doesn't sound so brilliant" Ruffnut said "The master's knee" Blake said "I'm not sure about what it means"
"But I do" Hiccup said when the answer of the riddle appeared on his head
(The Great Hall)
Some time later the teens were on the Great Hall looking at the painting of Hamish the first who put a foot on a rock and his knee was pointing at a sea stack
"Look right here" Hiccup said pointing at the sea stack "Where his knee bends that's where we start looking!"
(The Beach)
The teens were on the beach where they could the same sea stack on the painting in the Great Hall
"Listen up you guys" Hiccup said before reading the next clue "From here you will see the sea that's been snow, look where the water turns to bone"
"Water turns to bone? Hamish isn't even trying to make sense" Snotlout said confused
"For once I agree with you Snotlout" Blake said as confused as him "That I know the water and the bones are not related at all, so that doesn't make sense"
"That's because it's not talking about water, its talking about ice" Hiccup explained once he realized of what the clue was trying to tell them
"What are you talking about?" Blake asked even more confused
"Just think about it, they're both solids and they're also hard to break, so the thing that we're looking for must be on a glacier" Hiccup said
"Okay, now I get it" Blake said "If only my dad could see me now" Hiccup said before all start to fly towards the glacier
(The Great Hall)
Meanwhile Gobber already informed Stoick about the teens looking for the treasure
"You had the map and didn't destroy it!" Stoick scolded "What were you thinking?"
"'I know, I'm an idiot" Gobber said rubbing the back of his head
"Come on Gobber, we've got to find Hiccup and the others before they get themselves killed, why would he do something like this?" Stoick said
Gobber only was able to look at the painting of Hiccup and Stoick
(The Glacier)
The teens were able to arrive at the glacier where they found a cave with some frozen Vikings inside
"There's something down there" Astrid said pointing at something on the ice "I bet that guy saw it too" Fishelgs said looking at the frozen Viking
"What does the next clue say?" Blake asked
"Call on Magni, you'll go astray, Freya, though will show the way" Hiccup read
"I get it" Snotlout said before starting to bang his head against the ice crating cracks on it
"Snotlout stop before you kill us all!" Blake yelled but Snotlout continued
Suddenly Hiccup noticed a mace that was going to hit Snotlout "Look out!" Hiccup yelled, he reacted fast pulling Snotlout out of the way
"That was close" Blake said helping Hiccup and Snotlout
"We can't break the ice, that's what Magni means, he's the god of strength" Hiccup explained
"That would only leave us with our second option Freya" Blake said
"And she is the goddess of fire" Hiccup and Fishlegs said
"And that's exactly what we're going to use" Hiccup said before looking up where Toothless was "Toothless, you know what to do"
Toothless jumped down and landed next to Hiccup "Light them up" Hiccup said and Toothless nod before starting to use his fire to melt the ice
Once he Toothless finished Hiccup picked up the object it looked like a puzzle piece that formed some kind of symbol
"Is that all?" Blake asked confused "No, it can't be, this is just the first piece" Hiccup said
Suddenly the Glacier started to shake and crack making some ice blocks fall from the ceiling "Toothless!" Hiccup yelled
All of the dragons flew towards their respective raider saving them just in time before the glacier broke apart
(The Beach)
Meanwhile Stoick and Gobber were tracking the teens on Stoick's Thunderdrum
"Night Fury prints" Gobber said looking at the sand and sniffing it "They were here about... an hour ago"
"I'll never understand how you do that" Stoick said "How does 'an hour ago' smell like Gobber?"
"Not as strong as half Hour ago" Gobber said simply
"Look!" Stoick said pointing at the Glacier that was falling apart "The kids must have found something up there"
"It was in the glacier, I knew it!" Gobber said happily
"Oh, you knew it?" Stoick asked "Then how come we spent a week digging in the sand?"
"That was your idea" Gobber said
"Hiccup got farther in one afternoon that we did in one month" Stoick said
"Yep, looks like the little Hiccup got the best of us and we think we're the big and strong Vikings" Gobber said posing
"What are you saying Gobber?" Stoick asked not understanding the message
"Stoick is the painting" Gobber said feeling a little guilty
"Of course, he's trying to prove himself" Stoick said before looking at the glacier
(Sea Stack)
The teens landed on a sea stack after their experience in the glacier, Hiccup rolled out the map before starting to read the next clue
"At the edge of the world amidst the raging sea, in the serpent's mouth lies another key" Hiccup said reading
"Serpents!? I hate serpents, those are reptiles, right?" Tuffnut asked
"You do realize that you're sitting on one, right?" Ruffnut said scaring Tuffnut
"Hey that cloud looks like a serpent!" Snotlout said pointing at a cloud "Yeah, and in a few minutes, it'll look like a bunny" Astrid said unimpressed
"Snotlout please tell me you're not thinking on fly at that cloud to look for the next piece" Blake said
"Wait a minute!" Hiccup said looking at the map "That might mean something 'In the mouth lies the key"
Hiccup analyzed the map carefully and noticed that the sea stack in the distance looks like a serpent
"Look, right there!" Hiccup said pointing at the sea stack "Let's go" Hiccup said but Fishlegs stopped him
"Woah, woah, are you crazy?" Fishlegs asked "You can't take a Night Fury with a large wingspan of 48 feet and expect him to hover winds like that, you'll be killed!"
Hiccup thought for a moment before looking at Meatlug making an idea appear on his head
"Well, what's the wingspan of Meatlug's?" Hiccup said asked
Moments later Fishlegs was riding Meatlug through the harsh wind and Hiccup was on a rope that was hung down from Meatlug's saddle
"Keep her steady" Hiccup said "Oh, Thor" Fishlegs said nervously
They flew closer to the sea stack and inside he saw the key, it was an object that looked exactly like the one they already had
Hiccup tried multiple times to grab it but he failed "I can't reach it" Hiccup said looking at Fishlegs
"Okay, we tried" Fishlegs said "Hold on" Hiccup said
Hiccup climb down the rope and tried to get the key with his metal leg it took him a few tries but he was able to grab it
"Yes, got it!" Hiccup said before Meatlug started to fly back "How is that for a Hiccup?"
(The Forest)
Some time later the teens were walking through the forest riding their dragons, Hiccup looked at the pieces they had and noticed that they fit together
"Look they fit together, we must be on the right track" Hiccup said
"So, I guess there's only one more piece to go" Blake said
"Hiccup, what are you going to do with your part of the treasure?" Ruffnut asked
"I'm not really here for the treasure" Hiccup said
"Great I get his part" Snotlout said making the other teens roll their eyes
"You know, you don't have to do this" Astrid said "Yeah, try telling that to my dad" Hiccup said before he made Toothless walk faster
"Um, Astrid" Blake said getting Astrid's attention "Let me tell you something about Hiccup, once he's got an objective is really hard make him change his mind, trust me I've tried and only achieve it once"
Moments later they arrived at a rock wall blocking their way
"This must be the spot" Hiccup said looking at the map "Why else would anyone build a wall in the middle of the woods?"
"Duh, to keep out the threes" Tuffnut said as it was obvious
"What does the next clue say?" Blake asked
"The world is right when the stars align, when not in sync the danger you'll find" Hiccup said reading the next clue
"Stars? I'm not waiting here around here until night" Snotlout said
"To be honest at this point I don't think it talks about real stars" Blake said a little confused
"I'm with Blake" Hiccup said looking at Blake "I mean the water didn't really turn to bone"
"Well, what do you think it means Hiccup?" Astrid asked
"Why ask him, maybe I know" Snotlout said
"Snotlout if you continue like this, I swear I'll make you stop" Blake warned looking at Snotlout
"Blake, I've noticed that since you got some of your memories back you have been acting a little aggressive" Hiccup said
"I know and I'm not proud of it" Blake sighed "But I have to admit that is use full sometimes, don't you think Snotlout" Blake ended looking at Snotlout again who only gulped not wanting to get on Blake's bad side
Fishlegs jumped off Meatlug and started to walk towards the wall "Huh, there's shapes carved into each of these bricks" Fishlegs said
"Keep looking for anything that looks like a star" Hiccup ordered as he and the other teens jumped off their dragons
"Got one!" Snotlout said when he saw a brick with the image of a star on it
When Snotlout tried to pull the brick out of the wall it all started to crumble
"Put it back! Put it back!" Fishlegs yelled, Snotlout tried to put back the brick on its place but it didn't work
"Hookfang!" Snotlout called for his dragon who was looking how a leaf was falling for a tree "HOOKFANG!"
When Hookfang finally reacted, he used his snout to put the brick back into its place
"Okay, it says in sync, that means it must be another star" Hiccup said looking at the map
"Up there!" Astrid said pointing at the second brick with a star
"They must be pulled out at the same time, Tuff, Ruff it's your turn" Blake said looking at the twins
Tuffnut and Ruffnut led Barf and Belch to each of the bricks and pulled them at the same time
This time the wall didn't started to break, instead it opened revealing a cave inside they all enter the cave but suddenly the wall closed back up, Toothless roared at the wall trying to open it but it didn't work
Hiccup and Astrid grabbed some torches from the wall and Toothless lit them both, they all continued to walk until they found a room with some pedestals in a circle in the middle
Inspecting the room Blake looked down and gasped when he saw something move in the darkness
"Nobody move!" Blake warned "Blake, what's wrong?" Hiccup asked looking at Blake who only pointed at the ground
Confused Hiccup lowered his torch only to see some small dragons crawling away from the fire as fast as they could
"Um Toothless, mind giving a little light?" Hiccup asked to his dragon who shot a plasma blast reviling the same type of dragons all over the place
"Fireworm Dragons!" Fishlegs yelled, Tuffnut tried to pick one of them up but Hiccup noticed that "Stop! Their skin burns hotter than the sun" Hiccup said
"Yeah, but how hot can the sun really be?" Tuffnut asked before picking one of them only to be burned by it "Ouch!" Tuffnut yelled
When Tuffnut yelled he alerted all of the Fireworms making them glow orange so the dragons began to attack them to protect their riders
Hiccup and Toothless used the opportunity to walk towards the pedestals "Grab them all and let's go!" Snotlout yelled
"No, it's a choice, listen to this, guys" Hiccup said before reading the next clue "Something pure and something strong, look first to yourself and don't go wrong"
"Strong, it must be the on made of iron" Fishlegs said "But it's not pure, take the gold" Astrid argued
"Whatever choice you make you'll have to make it fast, our dragons won't be able to hold them off forever" Blake said
To prove Blake's point Hookfang reached his shot limit leaving him at the mercy of the Fireworms, luckily Meatlug saved him in time
"It's starting to ger really hard to breath" Astrid said cleaning come sweat from her forehead
"That's how it feels when you're getting roasted alive!" Fishlegs said
"Hiccup, I'm sorry but it's now or never!" Blake said looking at Hiccup
"Look to yourself" Hiccup said to himself, he walked up to a piece made of a reflective material he picked it up and nothing happened but the Fireworms started to escape confusing the teens
Suddenly the floor where Hiccup started to break so Toothless jumped to safety and Hiccup tried to do the same but it wasn't enough
But before he fell completely into the hole some was able to catch him "I've got you!" a voice said, Hiccup looked up and saw that Blake was able to catch his arm
Unfortunately, the hand than Blake was using as support to not fall as well slipped making the both of them fall "HICCUP!" Astrid yelled when she saw them fall
Toothless and Thunder reacted fast and jumped trying to save their human friends
"We got to get out of here!" Tuffnut yelled as the cave started to fall apart just like the glacier did
"Through there!" Snotlout yelled when he saw a hole in the sealing
"No!" Astrid refused pulling Fishlegs preventing him to ride Meatlug "We're not leaving them!"
"If we don't go, we'll all be trapped, there won't be anyone to save them" Fishlegs said
Astrid unwillingly accepted and they all leave the cave avoiding being crushed by it
(Bottom of the cave)
At the bottom of the cave Hiccup, Toothless, Blake and Thunder were able to survive the fall
"We got to find a way out of here" Hiccup said getting up
"Me and Thunder could fly out of here but we're not leaving you here" Blake said getting up as well
"Can you give us some light bud?" Hiccup asked and Toothless nod shooting a plasma blast
"You too Thunder, please give us some light" Blake said so Thunder nod as sell and shot an lightning blast
When the cave seemed brighter, they noticed a hole in the ground and Hiccup crouched down to look at it "I wonder" Hiccup said taking out the puzzle and he put it in the hole making a door open next to them
"Well, we've come this far" Hiccup said "And besides we don't have any other place to go" Blake said following Hiccup
(The Forest)
Back in the Forest the teens were doing everything they could to free Hiccup and Blake
"Keep digging, we got to find them" Astrid ordered
"Find who?" a voice asked behind them so they turned around and saw Stoick's Thunderdrum landing with Stoick and Gobber on its back
Stoick looked and the teens and noticed that Hiccup and Blake were missing "Oh no" Stoick said
(The Cave)
Meanwhile Hiccup, Blake and the dragons were able to arrive at the treasure room, it was full of gold but the most interesting thing was a scroll in a pedestal in the middle of the room
Hiccup read something written in it "This treasure was passed from father to son, I leave it to you, the next worthy one, for only a Hiccup would get this far, from one to another, be proud of who you are" Hiccup read
Hiccup unrolled the scroll to reveal a drawing of Hamish I and Hamish II but Hamish II looked as skinny as Hiccup
"Woah, Hamish II was a Hiccup, just like me!" Hiccup said "I'll have to admit I didn't saw it coming" Blake said looking at the drawing
"He knew than only a Hiccup could find this place, I think being a Hiccup isn't such a bad thing after all" Hiccup said
Suddenly the pedestal sunk back into the ground and two more raised up revealing a war hammer in one and a feather in the other
"Hamish II really loved pedestals, didn't he?" Blake said, Hiccup looked at some writing on the floor "And apparently riddles as well" Hiccup said before reading
"In between body and mind, a choice must be made on what you find, at this moment look into yourself, as only one path will give you true wealth" Hiccup read
Suddenly the cave started to fall apart blocking their way our "Come on Hamish you're killing me" Hiccup groaned "And in this case literally!" Blake said
Hiccup looked at the pedestals once again, then we knew exactly what he needed to do "Blake, follow me!" Hiccup said running towards the pedestals with Blake following him
(The Forest)
Back in the forest Stoick and Gobber were now helping the teens moving the rocks
"Keep digging, my son is in there!" Stoick ordered worried "And mine is also there!" Gobber said as worried as Stoick
Suddenly some ground behind them started to fall "Hiccup!" Stoick yelled as they all ran up to the falling ground
Once they arrived there was a cloud of dust but when it dissolved it revealed Hiccup, Blake and the dragons and in Hiccup's hand there was the feather
"Son!" Stoick yelled running towards Hiccup "Hey dad" Hiccup said as if nothing happened
Then Stoick gave Hiccup a very tight hug "Dad, I can't breathe" Hiccup said making Stoick drop him
Then everyone ran down the hill "What happen?" Fishlegs asked
"Blah, Blah, Blah, who cares? Where's the treasure?" Snotlout asked impatiently
"This is the real Hamish First son" Hiccup said showing the drawing
"That's not a treasure" Snotlout said disappointed
"For a father it is" Stoick said placing a hand on Hiccup's shoulder before looking at him face to face
"I never met you to feel like you had to do something like this" Stoick said feeling guilty
"I know dad but I had to do this by myself" Hiccup said
(The Great Hall)
The next day the Vikings were reunited in the Great Hall to see how Bucked replaced the previous painting with one more suitable
Some minutes later the Vikings left the Great Hall leaving only Hiccup looking at the new painting
"Now that's truly a Chief's son" a voice said behind Hiccup and saw Blake and Astrid approaching
"You know I've spent most of my life trying to prove to my father that I could be his kind of Viking but it turns out that I already was" Hiccup said before looking at the painting again with his friends
