checking her phone camera, haeyeon touched up on her hair and makeup. she applied her favourite peach lip gloss and spread it evenly across her lips
jaemin ran his fingers a few times through his very aggressively pulled hair and licked his lips of any peach lip gloss left
then, looking towards her phone camera, he smirked. "i told you, the blue one was sweeter"
"that's cheating jaem" she pouted
"but you liked it, don't even try to deny it" he said, walking over to her and squeezing her cheek, making her wince
"and what if i say no.." haeyeon swore she saw jaemin's eyes darken. "you wouldn't want to find out what happens next.."
"are you sure you heard a voice coming from here? a distant voice, followed by footsteps, could be heard as they walked down the hallway
"i swear i heard something.."
"really.. not your eyes playing tricks on you since you're also slightly deaf?" the guy said, sounding unbothered by his friend
being uncomfortable in her position, haeyeon moved backwards and accidentally hit her leg against the table which caused a book to drop from side compartment under the table
"shit.." she whispered as jaemin quickly brought his lips to press onto hers, which made her suck in all the air and melt into it
"yah! eunwoo, did you hear that?! tell me you believe me now"
"maybe i do— " eunwoo stepped in the direction of where the noise was coming from
taking small steps, he made his way and when he was about to open the door, a cat suddenly jumped out from behind the trash can which made the two guys fall to the ground in shock
eunwoo smacked his lips, "it was just a cat, moon.. not a ghost, but a cat..."
moonbin sighed, "dang it, i thought we could be the next group of ghostbusters: the astrobusters"
eunwoo just shook his head at his friend, how in the whole wide world did he come up with that name.. never mind..
"let's just go.." moonbin put his head down as their footsteps starts retreating until the sound could no longer be heard

upon hearing her notification go off, she thought it might have been someone or something important
jaemin and haeyeon painfully pulled away from each other as she checked her phone

"it's hyuck.." she stated to jaemin before replying his messages

twin🤍: near the food stalls, the guys are starving
"are they waiting for us? is he?" jaemin asked as she just nodded her head
guilt suddenly washed over her, she had kissed his best friend, more than once

"princess? are you listening to me?" jaemin's soft voice brought her back to reality. "w-what??"
"damn.. you weren't even listening.." he said dejectedly which earned him an apologetic look from haeyeon
"i'm sorry jaem.."
jaemin just brushed her off, "it's fine, let's just go find them or they'll be looking.." he trailed off, heading out first, leaving her at the back

"i see them!" chenle said as he chewed with his mouth open
"what did i say before, don't talk with your mouth full lele" mark scolded, as he passed him a napkin
"twank you!" chenle smiled, lips covered in rosé tteokbokki sauce as he received it with care
mark shook his head at the younger as his eyes diverted to the stressed-looking haechan, who stood up and stared into the distance
as jaemin and haryeon reached the table, haechan was the first to open his mouth. "were you two together? the whole time?" he questioned, his eyebrows raised
"we just went on a few rides since you guys left us by ourselves" with some fast thinking, jaemin said to avoid any suspicion
haechan raised his eyebrow again, as he just let them off this once. haeyeon smiled at her twin brother as she headed from bora who was sitting on the table
before jaemin could join them, haechan stopped him, his eyes fixated on him. "you didn't do anything right?"
"what do you mean"
"i asked if you did anything to my sister?"
jaemin swore he internally gulped so hard, perspiration beaded the edge of his forehead as his palms turned sweaty
"no" a lie smoothly slipped out from his mouth, "i didn't do anything.." he said with a stern face as he saw haechan's face slowly softened
"okay, as long as you didn't. because you know what will happen if you did" his gaze changed, the aura he exhibited darkened as he grabbed his collar lightly
laughing nervously, "yeah.." he said while haechan pat him on the back to thank him for babysitting his twin
guilt trapped him as he was unable to move from where he was standing, his eyes fixated on the sight in front of him
haechan walked up to his sister with a big smile as he messed up her hair and which got her super angry and attacked him back
jaemin looked at haechan and then at haeyeon, her cute dimples on her cheeks as she tried the rosé tteokbokki, going back and forth as his head spun in circles
then back at his best friend..
he lied to his best friend for what.. a girl?
is love a good excuse..?
he doesn't know..
i need to keep my distance.. it's the only way...
jaemin removed the thoughts from his head as he went on have fun with the others
he can't and won't allow this to happen again...
