Ever since Kuboyasu left. The week following, Y/n felt miserable. Saiki had wondered why exactly Kuboyasu's sudden disappearance affected the girl so much. But then he realized, Kuboyasu was the first real friend Y/n had ever made. Saiki was almost certain Y/n even sort of fell for the boy without even knowing... But he's gone now.
Even if she did admit to loving him. It wouldn't bring him back.

Saiki was unsure where exactly Kuboyasu went. All he knew was that Y/n would go to the boy's house every day after school. Despite how scary the neighborhood was she never seemed scared.

The past few weeks after New Year's were the most depressing. The girl's friends were never successful in bringing her hopes back up. She seemed more lost in thought than she had ever been before.
The group would mostly find her staring outside the window. Or staring at the space where Kuboyasu used to sit during lunch (now occupied by Hairo). It was almost as if she was expecting him to magically come back.
.
.
.

Y/n walked down the quiet street taking her usual boring route to school. Her parents seemed to notice how closed off she had been and did the bare minimum to give her some space.
Y/n wore her cardigan over her school uniform as the knitted jacket often threatened to slip off her shoulders. Y/n knew she was constantly being watched and protected by the bodyguards but she was honestly impressed at the fact they have yet to reveal themselves in her field of vision. She often wondered if they were even watching over her or if they just left.

Once she took a sharp turn she perked up once seeing a boy walking on her same route. She had never seen him before so it was honestly a surprise to see another teen in her area. She acknowledges the boy's uniform, recognizing it as her own. He seemed to be In deep thought then suddenly turned around to look over at the girl. Her eyes automatically peered forward to avoid his gaze and suddenly took interest in the wall next to her. She had a small heart attack by how quick he was to sense the girls staring. She became even more nervous when he started walking over to the girl.

"Hey, you go to PK Academy, right?"
"What's it like there? Is it fun? Are there a lot of students? I heard there's not a lot. The school I come from had a lot more! I just moved here actually! Well, not to this country. I came from a different part of Japan, I mean."
"This neighborhood is pretty quiet, right? Do you ever feel scared walking around this neighborhood or is it the safe type of neighborhood where you can walk around with ease?"
The boy practically exploded with questions and small rants to himself. The girl backed away feeling a little overwhelmed by how different the two were. She tried to keep up with what he was saying but figured it would be useless. Eventually, she did speak up

"You talk a lot," Y/n said bluntly watching the boy laugh and scratch the back of his head

"Do I? I feel like I get that a lot. I know an old friend of mine goes to this school as well. That's why I chose this school in the first place. He used to be in the local newspaper back when I was in pre-school. You might even know him actually! Let's walk together!" The boy said walking forward

"Im just gonna assumed you're behind me!" He spoke up continuing to talk. The girl sighed slightly then continued to walk next to the boy as he ranted to the girl.
Through the rant, she did find out his name was Akechi Touma. The rest, she just blanked

"Touma?" Y/n spoke up grabbing his attention.

"I'm Y/n! It's nice to meet you!" Y/n smiled at the blonde-haired boy. He smiled brightly bowing at the girl

"It's nice to meet you too! You seem very polite! I can't wait to get to know you more! Judging by your body language I can tell that you are a very quiet girl. Though I do feel like I can talk to you for hours and you would still be able to keep up with me!" Touma smiled complimenting the girl. He seemed to perk up and stare at something above the two.

"Wow, PK Academy!" Touma gasped seeing the school. Y/n urgently looked over in his direction with the most perplexed expression she had ever had

"We got here really fast!" Y/n exclaimed. She figured it was because she had been busy figuring out what to say to the boy while trying to keep up with the teen's stories.

"This is where we split up. Do you want to eat lunch together?" The boy asked turning to the girl. She nervously scratched the back of her head

"Do you think we might have the chance to bump into each other again? There are a lot of classrooms." Y/n said while the two continued walking towards the school's shoe locker. Once she started twisting the dial into her locker she couldn't help but notice that the same blonde-haired boy was staring at the girl, waiting for her to put her shoes on.
Akechi seemed to be looking around for his locker as well and soon found out he was exactly next to Y/n's...

"Oh! Mines next to yours! What a coincidence! Maybe it's a sign that we will be good friends. Do you believe in superstition? I feel like I want to be the type of person to not want to believe it. But so many things happened to me in a lifetime that I have to. Y'know?" Akechi asked the girl who slowly nodded

"I don't know if I believe that stuff," Y/n spoke up not wanting to give out a full answer. Thankfully, the two made it to their classes and Y/n felt herself cry inside when noticing she was occupying the class next door. If she was lucky, she believed she would never see the boy again.

.
.
.

"What? You have to go to the lunch room?" Y/n asked Kaido who nodded feeling a bit embarrassed, to tell the truth to the girl

"Well I saw this ramen on the menu and usually it's rare to get it. Though we'd have to eat lunch in there. I hope you don't mind!" Kaido asked hopefully to the group.

"I'll stay right here," Saiki grumbled getting ready to unpack his bento

"Sure, I'll go with you!" Y/n smiled. Suddenly Saiki tapped the blue-haired boy's shoulder.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Saiki spoke up following the other two into the cafeteria. Once entering, the girl felt a tad bit self-conscious about all the people in the room with her and slowed down her steps to be next to Saiki.
Once Kaido got his lunch he pointed to the empty table with a familiar blonde-haired boy sitting alone.

"It's the new transfer student!" Kaido spoke pointing to the table. Y/n's eyes widened slightly

"I know him. We walked to school together. He is very talkative." Y/m spoke lowly to avoid the boy somehow hearing the girl

"Let's ask him to eat with us! Poor guy is sitting alone." Kaido spoke confidently. The girl backed away but Kaido was quick to grab the girl's hand and begin to drag her toward the table. Y/n turned to Saiki with a panicked expression. Saiki simply gave her a small wave with a teasing smile almost tracing his lips.

"Hey, New guy! Your name is Akechi Touma, right?" Kaido called out to the blonde-haired boy. He turned to the group smiling when seeing the quiet girl behind Kaido

"Y/n, nice to see you again! I told you I would see you at lunch, didn't I? This must be fate again." Akechi smiled reminding the girls about their conversation about superstition

"I'm here as well," Kaido said blankly with a sulky expression

"We wanted to eat with you. Since you look really lonely." Kaido eventually said after regaining his confidence. The two sat down in front of the transfer student. His face lit up instantly once the couple sat down

"I'm happy you wanted to sit with me! I can tell we are going to get along! How did you two meet even though, you're in different classes?" The boy asked curiously.

"Well. Kuboyasu was the first one to meet Y/n! Since then, he made it his top priority to help her make more friends. Guess that's where I came in along with other people." Kaido explained breaking apart his chopsticks and getting ready to dig into his soup. Akechi examined the two while humming slightly

"Is that so? Where is this Kuboyasu guy? Is he still around? I can't help but assume he isn't anymore. Judging by how apprehensive Y/n had gotten just by the mention of his name." Alechi concluded. Kaido almost choked on the broth of the noodles and coughed slightly in shock. Y/n seemed even more shocked as she uncomfortably shifted in her seat.

"Yes, something happened to him. But that's all you need to know." Kaido frowned. Akechi smiled and laughed slightly

"I get it. I'm going to assume Kuboyasu and Y/n were a thing or at least had some sort of romantic feelings for each other." Akechi added. Kaido turned to Y/n with a slightly surprised expression. She simply just stared down at her bento that she unpacked.

"Dude. Back off." Kaido warned once seeing how unnerved the girl was. Kaido wasn't the only one annoyed by the boy. As Saiki, who was sitting at the table directly next to the group held a slightly furious expression.

"Stop harassing Y/n," Saiki added getting ready to step in when it got too out of control.

"Oh? You're getting awfully defensive Kaido. Could it be you like Y/n as well? Do you think Kuboyasu would like that you're flirting with his girl?" Akechi asked smiling when seeing the boy becoming defensive. Kaido's face began to heat up slightly as he turned to Y/n seeing her expression hadn't changed that much. In fact, she seemed very deep in thought.

"What?! No! I don't like Y/n. And she's not even Kuboyasu's girl!" Kaido spoke sitting back down to avoid a scene.

"This isn't what I wanted to discuss anyway! I apologize if I got too carried away! Oh, look at the time! Seems lunch is about to end any minute now." Akechi spoke pointing to the clock. Kaido jumped at his words and took one look at the time before beginning to frantically eat his food.

"I better get going," Akechi said excusing himself from the cafeteria.

"Wait, I'll go with you!" Y/n spoke up shoving the last rolled-up egg into her mouth as she stood up from her seat and wrapped her bento box up sloppily. She waved at Kaido, then Saiki, and ran after the blonde-haired boy.

"Akechi!" Y/n yelled out seeing the boy turn to the girl.

"I'm sorry about Kaido. If he did anything to offend you, I mean." Y/n said nervously watching the boy smile

"It's alright! I'm sorry that I made you uncomfortable with the subject. You just seemed like an ordinary girl. So I was shocked that you were affiliated with Saiki. I saw you talking with him before you and Kaido went to sit with me." Akechi spoke up glancing back at the cafeteria.

"You know Saiki?" Y/n asked. Akechi nodded smiling slightly

"Not sure if you'll even think of Saiki the same again. But we did go to the same preschool! In fact, Saiki was pretty famous at my school! He even ended up in the local newspaper!" Akechi spoke admiring the boy.

"The newspaper?! What for?" Y/n asked. Akechi leaned forward toward the girl

"You don't know? Well, Saiki's a-"
"Y/n?" A voice interrupted. Y/n turned seeing Teruhashi. Akechi immediately felt his face heat up as he backed away from the h/c girl

"Oh wow." He said. For the first time, this day Akechi's mind went completely blank.

"Oh? Who is this, Y/n?" Teruhashi asked hugging the girl's arm

"I saw the two close together. That perv better not have don't anything to her."  Teruhashi thought bitterly making sure to keep her carefree smile on her face.

"This is Akechi Touma! He should be in your class." Y/n asked the glowing girl who looked up in thought and

"Is that so? I must have not noticed him!" Teruhashi said trying to not sound as passive-aggressive as her statement was.

"Let's walk to class together!" Teruhashi cheered dragging the girl forward to get her away from the boy.
.
.

In the cafeteria, Saiki sat at his lonely table letting out a shaky breath of relief. He has successfully guided Teruhashi to the girl seeing as she was the closest.

"That was too close. He's going to be a pain in my side."

A/n: yay! I finally added Akechi! It started raining where I come from. It's so nice to look out the window and not squint.

My grandma brought home ice cream. And it's taking every fiber of my being to avoid it.... I need to restrain myself 😭🙏

See you next chapter! 👀
