the lunchtime bell rang, signaling the break for students. jisoo felt a sense of relief that aizawa hadn't made any grand introductions about the new student – her – during class. she preferred to keep a low profile and avoid unnecessary attention.

as she navigated through the crowded cafeteria, she couldn't shake off the intense gaze of midoriya izuku, who seemed to have a peculiar interest in her. his constant glances and the way he scribbled notes in his notebook raised a hint of curiosity in jisoo's mind. was he making a special curse or just being unusually attentive?

the upcoming sports festival, which aizawa briefly mentioned, didn't concern her much. the intricacies of how it worked were lost on her, and she assumed it wasn't compulsory. her focus was on adjusting to the new environment without drawing unnecessary attention.

however, a sudden shiver ran down her spine, a feeling that intensified when she sensed a pair of eyes fixated on her solitary figure in the corner.

kayden, one of her cats, shot her a judgmental look, as if silently questioning why she chose to isolate herself. ignoring the peculiar sensation, jisoo returned to her lunch, contemplating the mystery of midoriya's lingering gaze and the unspoken judgment from her feline companion.

"how'd you do that?"

"씨발." jisoo muttered, holding her chest in surprise at the sudden voice from behind her.

fuck.

it was todoroki shōto.

jisoo let out an audible groan of annoyance, poking at the vegetables on her plate with obvious disdain. in the midst of her culinary discontent, someone silently took a seat in front of her, breaking into her moment of solitude.

unfazed by the judgmental stare from the cat, todoroki continued to sit quietly, studying jisoo with a mix of curiosity and something else she couldn't quite decipher. it was as if he had a question lingering on the tip of his tongue, yet he refrained from breaking the silence. jisoo continued her task of picking at the unwanted vegetables, her annoyance palpable in the air.

"do what?" jisoo blankly responded, taking a bite off her smashed sandwich.

todoroki slurped his noodles before responding. "being nice."

she frowned. "huh?"

"i decided that i will become a nice person." todoroki nodded determinedly.

jisoo scoffed, not showing much enthusiasm for his words. "you're cute."

he cleared his throat, clearly not expecting that kind of response. "i'm being serious."

"are you really?" she raised a brow, and took another bite.

he sighed. "no."

"i see. now leave." she sarcastically smiled, while pointing towards midoriya's direction using her fork.

the cats nodded in agreement, and jisoo is starting to wonder if he's got eye problems or something. kayden and kartein are literally there, nodding along. how could todoroki not have noticed anything?

"i realized that being nice is an asset in fighting villains."

she let out the most confused noise she could ever muster. "huh???"

todoroki just blinked at her.

"whatever." jisoo mumbled, deciding to not pick a fight for now.

jisoo was just about to stand up and leave when a tray suddenly slammed on their table. the four of them looked at the person with a mixture of annoyance and apprehensiveness.

"well, if it isn't the motherfucking usj girl!" the same explosion boy stood there in front of them. his name was kacchan or something like that.

jisoo rolled her eyes and tried to walk away, but this kacchan guy immediately grabbed her arm and forced her to sit back down.

her eyes narrowed in anger. "let go of me, you fucking jerk."

"what did you just fucking say to me airhead?!"

"i'm just returning the favor, you fucking blond psycho!!"

now they were bumping heads, the other one ready to attack and the other one also ready to attack. only if necessary though.

"my name is bakugō katsuki! remember that shitty ass prissy princess!!"

"what if i fucking don't want to?! your name's too irrelevant for me anyway!"

"and you're fucking suspicious!"

jisoo sat with her usual air of confidence, her vibrant eyes meeting bakugo's fiery gaze without flinching. her posture radiated defiance, a testament to the upbringing she received from jiyoung and jisuk. the duo had instilled in her a firm resolve to never tolerate anyone's disrespect.

in her life, often dominated by heated arguments with jisuk and occasionally spiced up by jiyoung's lessons in resilience, jisoo became adept at holding her ground, especially against aggressive individuals.

the twins, though only minutes apart, had distinct influences on her personality. jiyoung's teachings molded her into someone who refused to take anyone's nonsense, while jisuk's penchant for retaliating taught her the art of throwing the second punch.

with an unwavering stare and a demeanor that mirrored her feline companions' poise, jisoo was a force to be reckoned with. in her natural element, jisoo was about to show bakugo that she was more than capable of meeting his intensity with her own.

"i said let go of me, you regina george wanna be!!" then she pushed bakugō katsuki off her as he fell onto the seat.

it wasn't that embarrassing at least, since he didn't fall to the floor.

jisoo then sat next to him, completely calm, as if she wasn't mad in the first place.

bakugō and todoroki shivered at her sudden behavior.

"everyone is watching. i don't want my reputation getting tainted by the likes of you." she looked straight in the eyes without even blinking, a signal that if he so much tries to raise his voice, he's dead.

kayden and kartein stared at him creepily.

"you have two weird cats." bakugō began, raising a brow. "the other is fucking fat and the second one is skinny as fuck." he huffed and took a bite out of what looks like dynamite curry.

"don't bring my cats into this." jisoo slammed her hand on the table in annoyance.

"oh, yeah? well, you're a two-faced bitch!"

jisoo gasped dramatically. "did you just call me a bitch?"

bakugō huffed, his usual explosive demeanor momentarily subdued. he found himself in an unfamiliar situation, feeling a level of embarrassment he wasn't accustomed to. his intense gaze shifted away, and for a moment, he seemed almost sheepish.

the word 'bitch' had carelessly escaped his lips during their previous encounter, and now, he felt a twinge of regret for his aggressive choice of words. this wasn't his usual style, especially when it came to interactions with women. the fact that he had initiated the conflict added an extra layer of self-awareness to his embarrassment.

a slight tension lingered in the air, a silent acknowledgment of the unusual shift in bakugō's demeanor.

"if she wasn't a nice person, then she would sue you for defamation." todoroki calmly said to bakugo as he wiped the corners of his mouth with a napkin. "but she is. how lucky of you."

bakugo was about to snap, growling in anger and jisoo took this as a chance to forcefully make him eat the rest of his curry.

"now, now, no fighting." jisoo frantically said, then swiftly turned to at todoroki, as bakugō angrily chewed. "and you, don't provoke him."

todoroki just gave her a blank look.

seeing that bakugō didn't calm down, even for a little bit, which made jisoo frown. "stop doing that. no one's going to take you seriously if you keep that up."

bakugō clicked his tongue.

"and why are you guys still even here?" jisoo questioned, looking back and forth at her two other classmates. "is my presence that much important?"

"hah?!" bakugo shouted at her teasing words. "i'll kill you right here r–"

the soft clink of the spoon resounded in the office as nezu expertly mixed the contents inside the cup. a delightful aroma filled the air, prompting nezu to mutter his appreciation. taking a sip, he savored the flavor that danced on his taste buds.

"what is your purpose for letting her stay inside the school, nezu-san?" the inquiry came from the person seated across from him, none other than the number one hero, all might.

nezu's gaze drifted to the window, where sunlight streamed in, casting a warm glow over his desk. the ambiance was pleasant, and nezu couldn't help but chuckle before responding, "a person with no data whatsoever. isn't that peculiar? i want to observe her myself."

all might, unsure of nezu's motives, managed a forced smile. he was well aware of the enigmatic and sometimes mischievous nature of the school's principal. the knowledge that nezu had specific reasons for allowing this mysterious individual into the school left all might with an uneasy feeling.

"in this upcoming festival..." nezu trailed off, his eyes focused on the newly generated demographic data, tailored explicitly for jisoo. "i'll make sure to raise the difficulty, just for her." the statement hung in the air, emphasizing nezu's intention to create a unique challenge tailored to the newcomer.

as the classroom gradually emptied, jisoo remained seated, allowing the flow of students to pass by without drawing attention to her. the bustling sounds of packing and chatting gradually faded, leaving her in a room that was both silent and isolating.

she didn't want anyone to discover the truth of her current situation. the last thing she needed was a barrage of probing questions about her life, questions she wasn't ready to answer. the prospect of being interrogated with inquiries like "what happened?" or "why are you living here?" made her anxious.

why was she living here?

a cascade of unsettling thoughts crossed her mind. she was without a home, devoid of money, and distanced from any semblance of family. the school had become her makeshift residence, a place she clung to out of necessity rather than choice.

the reality stung — she was living here because she had nowhere else to go. the heroes had taken her in, not out of kindness but out of suspicion, viewing her as a potential threat to society.

"i want to go home," jisoo muttered, the words hanging in the air like a silent plea for a reality that was slipping further away.

aizawa's gaze bore into the scattered papers and textbooks strewn across jisoo's desk, his eyes reflecting a subtle mix of assessment and perhaps a hint of concern. he had observed her unique aura from outside the classroom, prompting him to address her directly.

"ms. yoo jisoo," he called out, the stern yet oddly caring tone in his voice cutting through the quiet room. jisoo, caught off guard, hastily began gathering her belongings, aware of the judging scrutiny that accompanied her teacher's presence.

"aizawa-san?" she responded, her tone a blend of apprehension and curiosity, trying to gauge the reason for his unexpected return.

aizawa stood there, contemplating the situation. he wasn't oblivious to the fact that jisoo was an outlier in the world of ua high school. her presence raised questions, and he found himself torn between two choices — testing her abilities through ua's infamous robots or taking matters into his own hands and assessing her potential personally.

the air hung heavy with unspoken intentions as aizawa sighed, giving away little about his internal struggle. for jisoo, it was a moment of uncertainty, a pause that hinted at the enigma she presented to the hero school.

"i want to test something regarding your quirk," aizawa began, his gaze locked onto jisoo, awaiting any flicker of reaction. however, much to his observation, her expression remained steadfast, revealing nothing. "i just realized that you never really shout your moves at that age. that's pretty amazing."

"oh," jisoo exhaled, her eyes momentarily drifting to the top of the drawers where, to her surprise, kayden and kartein were nowhere to be seen. clearing her throat, she redirected her focus, nonchalantly asking, "have you seen my cats?" as she swung her bag over her shoulder.

"midnight and present mic are keeping them company," aizawa replied curtly, already a few steps ahead of her. he spared a side glance at her and then resumed walking, saying, "i passed by them as they roamed in the field and told them i was going to bring you with me to the training grounds."

jisoo raised an eyebrow, puzzled by the fact that her cats were entrusted to pro heroes. she quickened her pace to catch up with aizawa, her mind buzzing with questions about what kind of test he had in mind.

jisoo blinked, momentarily stunned by the revelation that aizawa had communicated with her cats. "you told the cats?" she mused, still processing the idea.

"they are pretty smart. i thought they wouldn't understand me," aizawa continued, casually pressing a button that triggered the door in front of them to open. "are cats from another universe always like that?"

jisoo's breath hitched, and she instinctively conjured a ball of air behind her. unbeknownst to aizawa, the condensed ball of air poised to follow her every command.

the tension thickened as she awaited his next words, realizing that they would determine whether she would view him as an ally or a potential threat.

"don't worry. i'll keep that secret of yours as long as you don't kill somebody," aizawa declared, nonchalantly turning around the corner.

jisoo extinguished the ball of air and briskly caught up with him. she raised an eyebrow, intrigued by his unexpected act of trust. "why trust me?" she inquired.

he chuckled. "i don't."
