Capture:- Capturing is the process of killing enemy pieces. In this example, Rook will kill the pawns by first killing the Pawn on its front and killing the other Pawn in the next round.
Protection:- Protection is the process of defending a piece by another piece or the piece itself. In this example, the Rook will move two steps to defend itself from the two Bishops.
Combat:- Combat is the process in which a capturing and defending works both. Combat = Capturing + Defending. In this example, the Pawn will moves first to defend itself from the Rook and then the the Bishop will kill the Rook.
Check in one:- We all want to complete a match as fast as possible, isn't it? What not kill the enemy King and complete the match at once. Check in one is a process of keeping the king in check or in danger. Actually it is a move to aim at the King to kill it. In this example, Rook is going to e1 square to aim the King.
Out of check:- But if the enemy keep our King at check, then, what should we do? We should move our King to such a square that the king will be out of check. In this example, Queen is aiming at the King. King can move to d2, d1, f1 and f2.
Mate in one:- If we want to keep the enemy king in check, the king can escape from the check line. So, how to keep the king in check in such a way that the king have no way to escape? We have to do check mate. It is a process in which the enemy King is in check and cannot escape. In this example, the Queen will kill the Pawn in front of it. If the enemy King kills the Queen, then the Bishop will not leave the opportunity of killing the King!
