"Y/n you're supposed to be ready for the hunter exam by now" M/n complained while walking into the room.
"Mk" I say while putting my phone in my pocket.
"You're becoming a hunter this year whether you like it or not." M/n says.
"I could fail. last year I didn't even make it to the exam site." I say. I didn't even bother to try last year, what makes her think I will this year?
"We both know you didn't even try last year. And I've already found the exam site for you." She said with an annoyed tone. Well there goes that idea.
"Alright alright I'll get ready just text me the location" I'll just fail on the first stage then.
"Don't even think about purposely failing" she said while leaving the room. Oh well I'm still going to fail.

I read the messages and then quickly walk out the door. The exam site happens to be in the same city I'm in now, so I won't have to walk far I guess.
Not much walking later
The building is small but that was expected, nobody would think a random restaurant would be the entrance to the hunter exam.
I walk in, and take a look around. nothing out of the ordinary, no overly strong men, no people with random weapons. I'm probably going to be going underground then.
"Hey there! What can I get for you today?" The chef asks, kicking me out of my thoughts.
"Can I get a (Favorite drink) please?" I'm definitely getting something to drink, it could be days before the exam even starts.
"Of course! Anything else?" The chef replied.
"Nope that's it." I'll order the password after I get my drink just in case.
"Alright I'll have this ready for you in a second" He says while making my drink. I start to look around again while I wait for my drink. Yep definitely nothing out of the ordinary.
"Here you go! That'll be (random amount)"
I pay and take a sip of my drink before speaking again. "Hey I've changed my mind, do you have any back rooms open?"
"Oh, What can I get you?" He asks obviously suspicious.
"The steak combo that opens up your eyes to the light for 1" I respond.
"Alright follow me." He says leading me towards the backroom. "Good luck many people die in these exams" he says breaking the silence as we walk.
"Thanks" I say before walking into the room "Have a nice day" I added once in the room.
"I'll try some of these hunter applicants can be quite the handful" he laughed "try not to die you're a good tipper" he adds while closing the door.

• You don't want to be a hunter because you feel like it took away your childhood. You also feel like your life has already been planned out for you, which is why you're completely fine with the idea of being kidnapped by Machi.
