— Chapter 11 —
Days had passed and today is Haneul's last day in the hospital. Their uncle (Soo Man) gave Haneul a break from school because of what happened.
Renjun and Haneul are currently inside the room while Haechan was at the ground floor.
"Are you ready to go home?" Renjun asked and Haneul nodded in response
"I'm sick of the hospital food. I want to eat Tae oppa's recipes again" She pouted and Renjun chuckled before hugging her
"Don't worry, you can eat them again later. For now you should rest alright?" Haneul nodded and Renjun kissed her forehead
"I'll go to the comfort room for a bit, I'll be back immediately"
Haneul was left in her room. She got bored of waiting so she took her phone and opened the gallery app.
She scrolled through the photos and a specific photo caught her eye.
"Oh? Is this the stranger I saw days ago? Who is he to me?" She asked herself and scratched her head
"Not gonna lie, he looks fine tho" she chuckled then slapped herself
"No Haneul, you already have Renjun. Don't look at other men" She shook her head and closed the app.
Renjun came back from the comfort room with Taeyong and a plastic bag on his hand.
"Tae oppa! What's that?"
"I just figured that you'd miss my cooking, so here it is! Renjun also told me that you're sick with the hospital food" he chuckled and handed the food to Haneul
"Thank you oppa! Come, let's share this"
The three ate the food that Taeyong had cooked for her. Haechan came with the papers that the doctor gave him
"I paid the bills already, the doctor said that you'll be discharged after lunch" He said before sitting on the couch.
"Chan, remember that handsome stranger that was here days ago? Do I know him? 'cause I saw a picture of us together" She asked while eating tteokbokki
"Oh, uhm.. Maybe that was just photoshopped or something. You don't really know him" He said and Renjun frowned
"But it looks so real tho? And he wouldn't be here if I didn't know him right?"
The room went quiet for a second and Taeyong decided to change the topic
"Let's finish this so we can go home alright? Haechan come on and eat"
"Ahh, finally home" Haneul stretched her body and sighed in relief. She entered the mansion and went to her room.
She placed her bag on the couch and laid on her bed.
'Ow! where am I-' she remembered something but it suddenly stopped.
She sat up and tried to remember it again, but she failed.
"I swear I'm gonna sell my brain if this won't function" She sighed and stood up. She went to her study table and sat on the chair.
There were a bunch of notebooks on the table, then she saw an unfamiliar notebook placed on her desk.
She took it and opened the notebook.
'박지성' (Park Jisung)
"Park Jisung? Who is he?"
"Haneul! Are the medicines with- what's that?" Haechan asked and Haneul looked at him
"I don't know, it says Park Jisung here. Who is he?"
"U-Uh, that's my classmate. Yeah! I borrowed that last week and I forgot to give it back" he chuckled nervously and Haneul looked at him with eyebrows raised
"You seem suspicious Chan. Are you hiding something from me?"
"W-Wha- No, I-It's nothing at all haha. I'll go back to my room now, bye!" He rushed outside and Haneul frowned.
"I'll find out soon about you Jisung".
a month had passed and Haneul was already back to school. She was back to being rebellious and cold to other people after everything that had happened.
The students were worried and scared because Haneul was worse than before.
She would beat up anyone if they'll mess with her or she'll bully them with all their life.
Haechan didn't mind, he wanted her to be herself like before, before she met Jisung.
Haneul and the boys were in the cafeteria eating peacefully when suddenly
"Yah Lee Haneul! Can you just stay the fuck away from Chenle? He's mine alright, now fuck off" A girl from other class bravely faced her and the cafeteria was full of whispers
Haneul scoffed and looked at Chenle. "She's your girl?" Chenle shook his head. "I don't even know her"
"Hear that? He doesn't know you, and can you stop disturbing people for nonsense? It's irritating"
"Oh yeah? Just because you're the daughter of the owner of this school you're being a bitch?" Haneul clicked her tongue
"Yah, can you fuck off before my sister can do something to you? You clearly ruined her day" Haechan said and the girl didn't listen
Haneul stood up and looked down on the girl (since she was shorter than Haneul).
"You messed with the wrong person Kim Hana" She said before pushing her on the floor and kicked her stomach.
She slapped her hard and it made her dizzy. Haneul grabbed her hair and dragged her up before throwing her to the other table.
Haneul went near her again and grabbed her collar. "Be glad I only did this to you, if you do this again.."
"I'll make sure to bury you alive" She said before leaving the cafeteria.
The girl cried and ran away from the cafeteria, not wanting to embarrass herself even more.
"Chan, I think Haneul went to far" Renjun said and Haechan shrugged
"Let her do whatever she wants Ren. She's just letting all of her anger out" Haechan said before leaving the cafeteria too.
Haneul was in the clinic with the doctor (Kun) treating her wounds. Kun was scolding her all the time for causing trouble again
"I swear I'll get killed if your brother knows about this. You didn't have to hurt the girl, she just needs Chenle's attention" Haneul scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"You know I hate people who are noisy right? And besides, I can do whatever I want here"
"Yeah, I know that. But please control your temper? I thought you already changed when you met that Jisung kid" Haneul froze and looked at Kun
"You know Jisung?"
"Of course idiot, he's the one who took you here when you got hit by a ball during P.E."
"He studies here?"
"Yeah, but I haven't seen him these days. He might be roaming around somewhere" He said before finishing the bandage on her hand.
"Thanks for treating my wound Kun, I need to go now" She ran outside and started running around the campus, wanting to find Jisung.
She looked through every classrooms, the gym, the science lab, the plaza, the indoor swimming pool, the library, the cafeteria, the garden and even in the secret spot she found years ago.
But she didn't find any Park Jisung.
"God, where is that boy?"
"Who?" A voice asked and Haneul flinched
"Uhm, do you know Park Jisung?" She asked and the boy nodded his head
"He hasn't been attending classes after the camping trip. Even the teachers are contacting him, but he wasn't reachable" He said and Haneul nodded.
"Oh, okay thank you.."
"Taehyun, Kang Taehyun"
"Thank you Taehyun, I'll go now" She said before running away.
Haneul was in her room once again, thinking about that Jisung kid. She was sure that she knows him, but she couldn't just pinpoint who he really is.
She looked at the stuff on her desk and saw a used candle. The Magical Lavender Scented Candle.
She took the candle and read the note on the label.
'A magical thing will appear' She furrowed her eyebrows and she remembered another blurry memory.
She slapped her forehead and laid her head on the table.
"How am I supposed to find you Park Jisung?"
"Haneul! Dinner's ready!"
"Coming!" She placed the candle back on the table and went downstairs for dinner.
"Haneul? Are you awake baby?" Renjun entered the room and Haneul was already awake, sitting on the chair
"Oh, hey Ren. I was just thinking, Is Park Jisung an important person to me? I couldn't really remember him but my guts told me that he's someone important to me" She said and sighed
"I don't know Han. You should ask Haechan, maybe he knows something about Jisung" He said
"Hey are you free today?"
"Hmm, yeah. Why?"
"Let's go to the amusement park. Let's have a date there". Haneul nodded and went straight to the bathroom to get ready.
Renjun went downstairs and spotted Haechan watching a movie on the Television.
"Hey Chan, Is it okay if I'll take Haneul out? We'll just go to the amusement park"
"Sure, be back before midnight"
"We'll be back at 10"
"Better" Haechan said without taking his eyes off the Television.
"Yah, do you want me to buy something for you?"
"Nah, I'm good" He replied still focusing on the movie. Renjun rolled his eyes and waited for Haneul to come down.
And when she came down, they went out and decided to ride her Lamborghini Aventador. Renjun was the one who drove the car since Haneul was wearing sandals so it was uncomfortable if she drives.
As they arrived at the park, they saw a bunch of kids with their parents, playing around.
Haneul smiled sadly and Renjun noticed it.
"You okay babe?"
"Yeah, I just miss my parents. We used to come here when I was a kid"
"I know that Han, we're literally childhood friends. You would always bring me with you and Haechan whenever you come here" He chuckled and ruffled her hair.
"Yah! I styled my hair for like an hour and you just ruined it!" She pouted and fixed her hair while Renjun just smiled
"Let's go, what do you want to ride first?"
"Vikings!"
The two are now seated at the last part of the ride. It would be more thrilling there since it'll go really high.
"Hey Ren, do you remember when Haechan sat here with us? He literally screamed like a girl" She laughed and Renjun followed
"Yeah, and he was like 'No! Mom I don't want this anymore! Hey the man who controls this thing, please make it stop!'" He imitated Haechan and Haneul laughed even more
"I wish we brought Haechan here. It would be more fun"
"Yeah, but remember this is our date. Only the two of us alright?" Haneul nodded and the ride started to sway.
They all enjoyed the ride, Haneul and Renjun's scream were the loudest, but they didn't care. As long as they have each other, they'll do whatever they want.
"What should we ride next?" Haneul asked and Renjun looked around the area and saw the deadly roller coaster.
"What about that? whoever vomits after shall pay for our food later"
"Game on!"
"Passengers, please make sure that your seatbelts are secured and when the ride starts, please hold on to the security rail in front of you to avoid accidents. Thank you" The announcer said and started the ride.
The coaster went up the rails slowly and the two were getting excited. As it reaches the very top, it suddenly dropped.
The people, including the two shouted really loud. Renjun and Haneul were trying not to vomit for the sake of free food.
In the end the two vomited at the same time. They laughed and wiped their mouths before drinking water.
"Let's go eat, I'll pay for the food"
"But Ren, I vomited too. We should split"
"No, it's my treat Haneul, and besides, I'm the one who asked you out right?" Haneul gave up and nodded her head.
"So where shall we eat?"
"Corndog stand!"
When the two finished eating, they decided to ride the ferris wheel. It'll be the last ride since they wanted to go home early.
They entered the cabin and it started to move slowly.
"You know, I'm really glad to be your boyfriend for a month" Renjun suddenly said the truth
"For a month? What do you mean Ren?"
"Han, I'm really sorry" He started crying and Haneul immediately hugged him
"Why are you apologizing? You didn't do anything"
"No Han, Im.. not really your boyfriend. Haechan just asked me a favor and I can't keep on pretending as your boyfriend.
Park Jisung, he's your guardian. Haechan didn't want you to remember about him because he failed to protect you.
At our camping trip with the class, You confessed to me but I rejected you. Then you told me that it was okay but you ran away. Far from the camping site.
Then something happened to you and Jisung was there, trying his best to protect you, but you got pushed by one of the Lim's men and your head hit the rock.
Jisung immediately took you back to the site and carried you from there until to the hospital.
Jisung cried and apologized a lot of times but Haechan went overboard and told him to go back to his universe.
Yes, he's from another universe, and the only way you could bring him back is to light the candle up.
The magical candle." Renjun told her everything and she was shocked from what she heard.
She waited for the ride to end and when they reached at the bottom, she ran out and dashed to their car.
She told Renjun to hurry and she drove the car back to her mansion.
When she arrived, she spotted Haechan sitting on the couch, still watching some movie.
"Oh, you're already back. Why so ear-" He was cutted by a hard slap on his face.
"You. Why did you do that?!" She screamed at his face
"What did I do Han?"
"Stop acting so innocent Lee Donghyuck. Why did you tell Jisung to go back to his universe? Wonder why I knew? Renjun told me.
Now tell me why the fuck did you do that?" She was now crying and Haechan looked down
"I'm just trying to protect you-"
"Stop this protecting shit Donghyuck.I'm already a fucking grown up, I don't need anyone to protect me!"
"But Han, you know how the Lim's are right? They would attack us any second right now"
"Well I don't give a fuck, if they want to kill me, then let them do it. Just stop treating me like a child, 'cause I am not"
"Han-"
"I don't want to see you nor talk to you" She said before going to her room.
"Why did you tell her?" He asked Renjun and the latter siged
"I did the right thing Haechan, I can't keep on pretending alright? I don't want her to get hurt. Are you even thinking about your actions?
Haechan this is all wrong! We should bring Jisung back before Haneul will do something that you won't like" He said before leaving the male speechless.
Haechan sighed and sat on the couch.
'What have you done Lee Donghyuck?'.
