NOI 20 - MORE COMING FROM THE HALF

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

❝Suzu-san! Fuku-san! Hei hei!❞

Yukie and Kaori turned at the familiar voice and catchphrase. They perked up at the sight of (Y/N) running towards them with open arms (Tsukishima and Kuroo were chasing after her from behind, yelling things that they couldn't discern), but the medical journalist ignored all of the things bothering her right now because of how happy she was to see the managers and the other members of the training camp.

With arms open, (Y/N) didn't hesitate to engulf them in a wide embrace. "It's been a while! How are you doing?"

"We're doing great, (Y/N)-chan," Kaori answered, patting the girl's (H/C) head.

Yukie lazily grinned. "Be careful about doing that next time though. You might fall. Also..." She sweatdropped at the two panting tall males behind the smiling (E/C)-eyed girl. "...why are these two chasing after you?" She pointed out.

"I don't know, too," (Y/N) responded, genuinely confused as the two managers.

"Don't... give me that...!" Tsukishima said, chest heaving in exhaustion.

"You just hurled in the bus and you're already... running around like this...! What kind of chaotic energy do you have?" Kuroo continued. I just noticed now, but she's unusually fast... She can even outrun us, who are active athletes! He gazed up at the apologetic (Y/N) and accepted her outstretched hand. Really, what the hell is she? "For a medical journalist, you can sure move with so much agility."

Oh fuck, I swear I didn't do that on purpose. (Y/N) chuckled. "That's not true. That was probably... adrenaline mixed with excitement to see the other teams again!" She answered. For once, not stuttering on that lie of hers. That was a good cover up! I'm actually used to moving after resolving issues in Japan and being taught how to do it professionally, she thought to herself.

"You sure have them wrapped around your wittle finger, don't you, (Y/N)-chan?" Kaori teased her, a mischievous smile curving up on her lips. Her statement caused Kuroo and Tsukishima to flinch. They looked away, nervously and inwardly wishing for the medical journalist to not notice what they were feeling right now.

Meanwhile, the said girl's (E/C) eyes only fluttered. "What do you mean by that?"

Ah, so dense, Tsukishima, Kuroo, Yukie and Kaori thought.

"Ha... so this is the ill-effects of having an unrequited love for years, huh?" Yukie shrugged.

Kaori nodded in agreement. "That's true, that's true."

Tsukishima, Kuroo and some players who were following behind couldn't help but ponder and still on what Yukie said. They froze. (Y/N) has an unrequited love with someone? Who was that? Kageyama, one of the people walking from behind, couldn't help but send his bestfriend a confused glance. She had never told him about this. He clenched his fists, unknowingly gritting his teeth at the mention of her loving someone other than him.

(Y/N) sweatdropped, still bewildered at what they were saying. "Um, I'm quite aware that I'm strange, but you're the ones being strange right now. What do you mean by ill-effects? Also, how do you still remember my cliché love story?"

"Do you mean 'who would not forget it'? That's one of the saddest yet love-filled stories I have ever heard!" Yukie said.

Kaori nodded. "Yeah... (Y/N)-chan loved that person for almost ten years and even gave her everything, but in the end, he ended up with someone else." She held her head. "I'm going crazy! Why did he do that?! (Y/N)-chan's so nice, humble and pretty!" She whined like a fangirl. (Y/N) was exasperated. What in the world was so special about her and her story? "But, do you know what made me cry the most? When (Y/N)-chan said, 'As long as he is happy, then that is my greatest happiness', I broke down along with the other managers."

Yukie was swept by the emotions that Kaori was having. "She is so mature...! You are the definition of a woman, (Y/N)-chan! You are the only person I know that could ever give up the person they love just so that they could be happy, even with someone else!"

"Thanks for that, but, uh... that's not true. I think it's normal for a person to give up on their own happiness just for their special someone. If they're genuinely happy with someone else, then you should be happy for them, that's it," (Y/N) nonchalantly said, not knowing the overall impact of her words. She flinched when Yukie and Kaori kneeled before her. "H-Hey, what are you doing? Why are you kneeling? Your pants will get dirty...! Mou..." She pouted, crouching in front of the two to help them stand up.

"Seeing them like this makes me not so dizzy anymore," (Y/N) said with a sweatdrop. She turned to Tsukishima and Kuroo, and was quite surprised to see the rest of the boys frowning with them. She was about to tell them that she was fine now, but her eyes widened at their expressions. It was filled of... hurt? Pain? For what? Even if she was great at sensing other people's emotions, she didn't know the exact feeling they had right now. She couldn't help but feel concerned for them.

"Hey, you guys, you alright? Do you need some—"

"—what they said... was that true...?" Daichi quietly asked.

"Suzu-san and Fuku-san said many things," (Y/N) said, smiling.

"He means the 'unrequited love' part," Kuroo told her.

(Y/N) raised an eyebrow. "Ah yeah, that...? What about it?"

"Did you really give up on the person you love?" Sugawara inquired, tone gentle as if not to scare her. They expected her to frown and cry, or look in pain after hearing that, but what they received was the opposite. (Y/N) blinked and grinned.

"Oh, yeah, I did!" She stretched her arms. Her eyes were closed due to smiling so she didn't see the stunned expressions of the athletes behind her. "He's married now and he's the happiest. That is better than me not giving up on him." She laughed and waved a hand in front of her. "My feelings ain't really important though. I'm just glad that he has found his happiness. If he didn't... hm... I'd help him find it!"

Did they hear her say that? That her feelings weren't important? The boys listening in and even the two managers who were helped to stand up by (Y/N), couldn't help but frown. Just how much is she willing to cast herself aside for the happiness of others? They couldn't understand. Why is she always like this?

"Although, I think I am lying if I said I was completely fine about it..." They perked up at what she said. They looked at (Y/N), only to see her smiling in a nostalgic way. "Back then, I was extremely sad and heartbroken, because of course, the one I loved did not return their feelings. That is... upsetting. Love is a powerful and happy emotion, but at the same time, if it is not reciprocated, it becomes a miserable and depressing feeling that makes you want to give up on life itself. However—" She gently simpered. "—everything's okay now. I have moved on. He has moved on. He's happy. And..."

Their hearts skipped a beat at what she said next.

"I am happy now, so that alone, should be more than enough, is it not?"

"I'm going somewhere!"

"AND WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING, YOU BRAT?!"

"Somewhere!"

"GIVE ME A SPECIFIC ANSWER!"

"'A specific answer'!"

"This little sh—" Takeda had to hold back and stop the malding Ukai from continuing his statement. He sighed, giving the beaming medical journalist an exhausted look. "Let go of me, sensei! This brat hasn't learned her lesson! What if she goes to a forest and brings another animal again?!"

"Oh, you want an animal, Sakanoshita-san? Sure~! I'll bring a crow here!"

"I DID NOT SAY THAT!"

I have to agree, since there is nothing impossible with (Y/N)-san, thought Takeda sweatdropping. "I know, but we should trust her for once." An arrow hit (Y/N)'s chest. So they are only trusting her now? The hell, that hurt!

Takeda was joking though. He chuckled. He made that statement on purpose. No matter how enigmatic their medical journalist is, they trusted her one hundred twenty percent. He gave (Y/N) a reprimanding look. "(Y/N)-san, I will only agree if you're going to tell us where you're going. If not, then I will have to make some players go with you so that they can monitor what you're doing," he said.

"Those are like supervisors...!" (Y/N) trailed off, awe lacing her tone like a little child. She shook her head quickly and smiled. "I'm just going to the convenience store to buy some stuff for the team. The gauges ran out from the first aid kit so I need to get a lot. They are athletes, so as their medical journalist, I should be cautious of what is happening around me," she explained.

She really has a way of words. Ukai and Takeda deadpanned. They shared glances before finally giving in at (Y/N)'s pure smile.

Ukai sighed. "Fine...! But, I'm having some guys go with you." He inclined his head, facing the eager-looking players in the lobby. "Does anyone want to go with (Y/N) here? She does funny things so someone has to look over her."

What are those funny things if I may ask? (Y/N) sweatdropped. She added, "You can refuse if you want to. After all, you guys have some mat—" However she was taken aback by the chaos coming right at her.

"Pick me!"

"I want to go with (Y/N)-san!"

"(Y/N)-san, let me go with you!"

(Y/N) gawked. "Eh...?" Why are there so many of them?! She waved her hands in front of her. "I don't really want to make a decision, so you guys should stay here and play matches." She took her pocket money and slung a bag over her shoulder. "Sakanoshita-san, Takeda-sensei, it's alright if someone doesn't go with me. They should be practicing and focusing on volleyball instead. I will message you immediately if I go somewhere else other than the convenience store. How does that sound?" She suggested.

Ukai froze. Shit, how are her words are so believa... No... Argh! He messed with his own hair and patted the girl's (H/C) locks. "Fine, be careful though."

(Y/N) playfully sobbed. "Sakanoshita-san is not hitting me...!"

"Yeah! And, if you don't me to hit you... Hurry up and go!"

And, now, (Y/N) was by the front gates of the place they were staying at. With a deadpan, she slowly mumbled, "So, uh... if I may ask..." She turned to Sugawara, Kenma, Kuroo, Akaashi and Bokuto, snarling comically. "Why are you here with me?!"

"Ukai-san told us to go with you," Sugawara answered.

"But... but... it looked like he was trusting me...! For the very first time...!" (Y/N) sulked.

"He does, but kinda doesn't at the same time," Kenma bluntly remarked, causing (Y/N) to hold her chest at another arrow piercing her heart. The pudding head huffed his cheeks out of amusement and pushed (Y/N) by the shoulders. "Let's go. We were excused from our matches, so that means that the coaches are going to triple our training," he said, chin resting on the girl's shoulder.

"That's why I told you not to go...!" (Y/N) exclaimed before palming her face. "I feel so guilty for taking you all out in practice. I shouldn't have said anything and just used stealth." Also, Kenma-san, you just like skipping out of practice, don't you? She sweatdropped.

"Don't feel guilty, (Y/N)cchi. You may not look like it, but you never ask for favors," Bokuto stated, humming the song that (Y/N) sang at the cafeteria from weeks ago.

"I don't...? I just asked Tsukki if I can cling on him earlier though," said (Y/N). She was walking ahead of them, so she was completely unaware of how the five stilled at her statement. So, it was not Tsukishima forcing her to hold onto him, but her asking him? Holy shit, they felt like they lost to a finals volleyball league match. "And, there is another reason I went out to adventure! It is to find possibilities whether I'm going to run into someone..."

She stopped, realizing the identity of these two people standing in front of her. "...or not!" She gaped along with her Tokyo companions. Sugawara was confused though. Did she know these two people wearing yellow-colored jackets? He was about to call her, but he flinched with his fellow volleyball players when she jumped and kneeled on the ground. "I jinxed myself!" But, the absolute bestest boy is here! She snapped her head upwards and ran to the brunette. "Toya!"

T-Toya?!

Komori was beyond happy to see her personally again. "(Y/N)-san!" He opened his arms, widely grinning when (Y/N) charged into his hug. He nuzzled his cheek on the crown of her head. He wanted to continue, but Sakusa pushed his face away with an irritated look. "Kiyoomi, killjoy!" He pouted at his cousin. "Anyways, (Y/N)-san, how are you? I'm so glad that you're here!"

"I'm doing great, Toya! Kinda had some troubles earlier, but I'm feeling super super great! Even greater now that I have seen you!" (Y/N) replied, eyes shining at the sight of Komori. "How about you? How are you faring these days?"

"I'm faring good! Especially since we talk to each other almost everyday," Komori said.

The male volleyball players, except for the airheaded Bokuto who was now chatting along with them, deadpanned at how they conversed to one another continuously.

Kuroo rubbed his arm at how bright the three were. "Are we seeing the light right now?"

"Dunno, but it feels like it," Kenma said.

"Hey, you're running straight to Motoya and even had the audacity to ignore me." Sakusa's sentiment caused the Tokyo players to widen their eyes in shock. Was Sakusa... always like this? Why did it sound like he was craving for (Y/N)'s attention? He gently held her wrist. "And, why am I 'Sakussan'? Why are calling him 'Toya' when I met you first?"

"Technically, I met Toya first."

"No, you met me first. So you should be calling me by my—"

"Aw, come on! Stop being such a tsundere and admit it!"

"I am telling the truth."

"Ugh, Sakussan, you're always sooo petty," (Y/N) remarked, sighing tiredly at the arguments she was having today. She blinked, sensing someone's gaze on her. She softened after seeing Sugawara so confused. She smiled, leaning towards the platinum blonde to hold his hand. Even though she was aware of her surroundings almost all the time, she didn't even discern the ugly looks sent to the flushed Sugawara. "Sorry for suddenly taking things out of context."

"Sugawara-san, these two are Sakusa Kiyoomi-san and Komori Motoya-san. You might have read them from somewhere, but I'll just clarify that the two of them from Itachiyama and they play volleyball as well." Someone from the heavens, please let me meet someone who doesn't play volleyball, she added with a bodhisattva face.

Sugawara's mind immediately went to Volleyball Monthly. He knows these names. His jaw dropped once realization hit him. "Wait, Sakusa's one of the top three spikers in highschool! And Komori is taking the current spot as highschool's top libero! How do you know them?!"

"I ran into them," (Y/N) frankly replied.

"Don't just say that! No wonder Ukai-san told us to keep an eye on you!"

"Eh? Meeting people is great!"

"Yeah! But, knowing you, there's a huge chance you might run into criminals, (Y/N)-san!"

"Huh?! Really?!"

"Yes, really!"

"Who is that?" Komori whispered to Kuroo, another great 'people-person'.

"Ah, do you mean Mr. Refreshing? He's the vice captain of (Y/N)'s team, Sugawara Koushi-chan. He's a third year from Karasuno. The Ukai-san he mentioned is their coach."

"Heh... I didn't know that (Y/N)-san was in a volleyball team," Komori remarked.

"I forgot to mention it, hehehe..." (Y/N) sheepishly chuckled while scratching the back of her head.

Forgot to mention, huh? Sakusa hummed quietly. He remembered his chats and messages with her, even in their group chat. Whenever we ask something about her, she avoids it. She never really talks about herself. And because of that, we don't know a thing about this lady, he thought. "You knew all along that we were athletes, didn't you?"

"Kinda. I mean, it was pretty obvious, your uniforms kinda really stood out. The atmosphere around your team was refined and disciplined, probably because Iizuna-san leads your team so well despite how aggressive he can get. Not only Sakussan and Toya, but the rest of your members are confident in themselves and their abilities. Those factors alone shows how much of a powerhouse you guys are."

Huh? The boys thought, dumbfounded and stunned at the same time. They didn't expect that kind of explanation coming from her. She was usually so strange and eccentric all the time that they didn't expect something smart to come out from her mouth. Their faces had a look that said 'Just what did you say?' and their eyes were just dots, so it made (Y/N) laugh hysterically.

"What's with those looks! That's funny y'all! Stop that!" (Y/N) breathed in and out before finally calming herself. "Anyways, we're going to the medical store now. Bye bye, Toya, Sakussa—"

"We're coming with you," Sakusa declared.

"Eh? No need! There are too much people going to a medical store and you guys are supposed to get some re—"

"It's fine, (Y/N)-san! We only had a meeting today," Komori smoothly lied. They did have training. That was just an excuse that came up in his mind since it was a rare opportunity to have personal-reality time with (Y/N).

That was a lie. They did have training. (Y/N) sweatdropped and sighed. "Ha... Fine, you can come. I hope it isn't a bother."

"(Y/N)-san, don't say that. You're not bothering at all," Akaashi softly intervened.

This fucking gentleman...! (Y/N) mumbled to herself, "I really want to marry this guy."

This again?! Kuroo and Bokuto gawked.

Sakusa really couldn't help himself now. He cringed along with Kenma, even swearing at the same time, "What the fuck." Sugawara and Komori silently frowned to themselves, not liking that statement. Not even the slightest.

Akaashi stated, smirking lightly, "You can marry me in the future if you want."

AKAASHI?!

"R-Really?!" (Y/N) bellowed, exhilarated. However, she slumped down in disappointment a second later. I'm not even sure if I'm going to reach the future... "Not really sure about that, but sure."

"That was smooth, Akaashi," Kenma stated, despite feeling a little jealous. "Expected from a pretty man."

"Yep, expected from a pretty man," Sakusa stated.

"Can the two of you stop calling me things that aren't even true?"

"You're too humble, Akaashi! It is true! A lot of students from school give you chocolates. And a lot of us think that you're attractive, too," Bokuto said with a proud grin.

"Wow, that's pretty much like a cool male protagonist from a shoujo manga," Kuroo added. He gave the second year a lazy yet genuine smile. He patted the ravenette's shoulder and encouragingly told him, "You don't look like it, but you have such low confidence in yourself when you're capable of so many things. Believe in yourself more, man. You're liked by a lot of people, including me, of course."

Akaashi shyly scratched the back of his nape. "I appreciate all that. Thank you."

[A/N: Sorry but... men openly complimenting each other? I've never personally seen it (just heard some), but I think that is just one of the best things in the world.]

"Such homies!" Komori and Sugawara exclaimed at the same time in awe.

"That's just too wholesome. What the heck. I love you all so much," (Y/N) said. That statement alone caused the men to blush furiously. She loved... them? Did she really do? They turned to her expectantly, only to see the girl beaming at them. They averted their gazes away from her immediately so that she wouldn't see the radiant redness on their faces. "Hey, that's mean! Just tell me if you hate it when I telling you that I love you all! I'll stop!"

That's not it. We actually feel the opposite.

Yeah. These volleyball nerds really adored her.

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

"Yes! Finished with the chores!" (Y/N) stretched her arms with a big smile on her face. The seven boys walking behind her. They finished buying quickly and when they checked the time, it was 3pm in the afternoon, so the sun was still shining on them, making them sweat quite a bit. They were surprised that (Y/N) knew what brands and all to pick. She even knew more than the ones who were advertising stuff to her. The thing that actually took them a long time was (Y/N) getting along with the staff. It was hard to pull her away because the girl loved talking to others so much.

"Aren't you exhausted and all? Talking to so many people at once?" Sakusa asked from behind.

"Never! I love human beings!" (Y/N) answered, beaming. The volleyball players sweatdropped behind her. They could never understand her. They really didn't share the sentiment of loving 'human beings' since they had their fair share of individuals that they didn't like. But, (Y/N)—they stared, bewildered, when she waved at some people who passed by them—might genuinely, truly love all sorts of people.

The guy from earlier was super nice. Hope I can pay him back, hehehe. (Y/N) chuckled to herself after recalling the shy employee from earlier. Her eyes were closed due to laughing so she didn't notice the person walking in front of her. Her (E/C) orbs widened after bumping into someone. "Sorry about that."

The careful hand that steadied her soothed her to the max. "It's okay." The voice was gentle and mellow, however it belonged to a male's voice. (Y/N) couldn't help but turn her head to the side to see a baby-blue haired man bowing apologetically behind a tall guy. Her companions protectively stayed by her side, still wondering who spoke just now. His redhaired companion standing by the front, raised an eyebrow and motioned the someone she bumped into.

"Kuroko, let's go! What are you doing?"

"I'm sorry, Kagami-kun. I just bumped into someone. I'm apologizing to her."

"Oh, really? I kinda feel sorry since they won't be noticing y—"

"—Hey," (Y/N) called out. The redhead and the blue-haired teen flinched. They turned to her, equally confused as the volleyball players when she reached out to an empty space, holding out a dark blue wallet. "Kuroko, was it? You dropped this. You shouldn't put your wallet inside a not-so-deep pocket, it'll fall if you bump into someone or something."

Who is she talking to... The medical journalist's companions were stunned to see a light-blue haired male with a blank look on his face. "I didn't notice him!" Komori, Sugawara, Bokuto and Kuroo exclaimed.

At the same time, the redhead named Kagami yelled out, "You noticed him!"

Kenma blinked. "Was he there the whole time?"

"Who knows..." Akaashi mumbled, just as stunned as the rest.

"I didn't even notice until (Y/N) called him," Sakusa stated, blinking owlishly at the girl.

(Y/N) could only laugh in the midst of everyone's stupor. "What's with those reactions? Who wouldn't notice him? He's kind, he's got such a cool voice and a tender touch. Kuroko's eyes are like a mystery, too!" The complimented male was blinking in shock and was even more stupefied when the girl patted his shoulder. "We'll be going now! Be more careful with your things! And, Kagami, look after Kuroko properly!" (Y/N) jogged beside her companions and waved her hand.

"Ah! Make sure to let your cute Alaskan friend inside your bag breathe! See you!"

Kuroko and Kagami raised their hands, returning her farewell with dumbfounded looks. "Yeah! See... ya...?" The latter unsurely mumbled. (Y/N) heard his awkward farewell and smiled. It made the redhead and his phantom friend blush a little. Her smile was a nice sight. They watched her companions bow their heads and leave with her.

"She's... strange, isn't she?" Kagami hesitantly trailed off, putting his lifted hand on his hips.

Kuroko smiled. "She is, but she's a very bright and amiable person."

The redhead chuckled, glanced at his partner. "Agree. Hope we can meet her again sometime."

"Yes," The shadow murmured. He realized something though. He opened his bag, only to see his dog, Nigou, barking and grinning at him. "The strangest part about her is she knew that I had Nigou inside my bag."

"Eh? Now that you mention it, she really did say that..." Kagami muttered and followed the girl's fading visage. "...Who is she?"

And, her scent... It doesn't seem like it belongs to a normal human being.

"You notice every little thing about someone, don't you, (Y/N)-san?" Sugawara inquired, breaking the comfortable silence that was ensuing within the four of them from the back.

"What's the heck is with that sudden question?" (Y/N) sweatdropped.

"That's true, Suga-san, it's kinda scary sometimes," Komori stated.

(Y/N) stilled at that statement. She pursed her lips, expression contorting into hinted nervousness. Oh shit. Why do I have to blabber so much? I really gotta stop talking sometimes. It must be getting irritating to them. She forced out a smile, causing her companions, especially Komori and Sugawara to feel concerned at the strained curve up on her lips. "I-Is it? Sorry about that. I'll try to keep it to my—"

"No one's saying it's a bad thing. They meant that you're scarily amazing, that's all," Sakusa interrupted her before she could finish. The hint of softness in his dark orbs made the boys who knew his personality stunned. The group blinked in unison when he took out something from his bag. (E/C) orbs fluttered as soon as the ravenette took out a cap and put it on her head. "Also, it's hot. Wear this."

"Thank you..." (Y/N) mumbled in gratitude. Her forced smile instantly transformed into a bright grin. "Thanks for this, Omi!" Akaashi, Kenma, Bokuto and Kuroo, who were chatting in front, froze at the name. Komori and Sugawara choked on the air, while Sakusa's heart felt like it was pierced by a love arrow. He was outwardly calm though. He gulped along with the rest as (Y/N) held the edge of the cap he gave her and gave him a peace sign.

"I'd like to treasure this, but too bad, I'll have to give it back to you. Rest assured! I'll wash it until the germs have vanished!" (Y/N) pumped her fist, laughing loudly in the middle of the street.

Komori laughed. "You really do know how to satisfy Kiyoomi, (Y/N)-san!"

"Haha! Not really! Just stating the obvious!"

"Does Sakusa like clean things?" Sugawara curiously asked.

"He does. He's actually quite known for being fastidious," Akaashi answered, smiling in amusement at his embarrassed curly-haired friend.

"Everyone should be like that," Sakusa plainly stated. He glanced at (Y/N), heart skipping a beat at her noticeably endeared smile directed towards him. Shit, she's always... so... Sakusa's fingers lightly twitched. He sighed exasperatingly despite how flustered he is. "Ha... what the hell..." He passed by her and gave the top of her head a soft tap. "Just keep it. I won't be using it anyways." Lies. That's actually my favorite, but who cares? His eyes softened at the laughing (Y/N).

"We're all soft for her, aren't we?" Kuroo suddenly piped up from the side.

Sakusa harrumphed. "That's impossible. I can't be soft for such an enigmatic lady."

"Hahaha! You giving your hat to (Y/N)cchi says otherwise, Omi-omi!" Bokuto refuted, laughing.

"Stop calling me that, Bokuto-san. Also, why are you calling (Y/N) with a -cchi on the end?" Sakusa looked away. He's saying the truth though.

"It suits her!"

"I beg to differ."

"I don't know what you mean by that, but that's kinda mean, Omi-omi!"

"Ugh."

"Sakusa, just tell Bokuto-san to go away if you want. He wouldn't mind."

"I would mind! You're so mean, Akaashi!"

(Y/N) stared intently at the seven boys conversing. Kenma suddenly saying something with Sakusa nodding at whatever he was saying. Kuroo and Akaashi roasting Bokuto. Sugawara and Komori talking to one another as if they were friends for who knows how many years. She smiled, giving a thumbs-up. Haikyuu fans would definitely like these unexpected interactions.

The medical journalist deadpanned. "What the hell am I thinking...?" She chuckled. "As Omi said, it's getting hot. Why not rest on that park over there? There's a volleyball court, too, so you might be eager to play, skipping volleyball boys," she lightly teased them.

"Why not, I'm eager to play, too." Kuroo shrugged. He followed her along with the other boys from behind and took her aback when he suddenly ruffled her hair. "We're at an odd number, so one has to sit out. I don't really like that, so you wanna play with us?" (Y/N) blinked, staring at him in confusion. Now that's a first. She usually would have a response now. He chuckled and pinched her cheek. "It's okay if you refuse, you know."

"I'm good with playing, but..." (Y/N) glanced at Kenma who looked so exhausted. "Kenma-san looks like he doesn't want to play, which is why I'm sitting out with him! That's a three-on-three between y'all, how does that sound?"

Why is she so good at convincing people? Kuroo deadpanned before grinning. "Sure, sure, Miss (Y/N)." He stared at her. I just messed with her hair. He removed her cap and fixed her tousled hair. After he finished doing that, he pointed at the empty seats lying beside the court. "Sit at the bench with Kenma. Be careful with stray balls, 'kay?"

(Y/N) saluted. "Yes, sir! Enjoy your game!" She bid her goodluck to the playing athletes and charged to Kenma, making him let out a quiet 'oof'. "Kenma-san! I missed you so much! It's so great that I will be able to spend some time with you!"

Kenma sighed before nodding with a small smile. "I missed you, too. And, yeah, it's great." He pondered for a second and asked her, "Didn't you tell me that you made a friend that knew me?"

"Oh, yeah, I did! His name is Kunimi Akira! You two give off such similar vibes. Akira made me play Jump King. You know? One of those games that you were ranting to me about," (Y/N) said.

Kenma stilled. "Don't tell me... you finished the game?"

"Yeah, I had so much fun!" (Y/N) beamed.

There is no fun in that game. Kenma sweatdropped. I bet she finished it one seating. She's surprisingly good those rage games. He glanced at her, listening to her talk about various things. He smiled. She really is talkative, but not in an annoying way. She asks for my opinion and gives comments to every little thing I say. She's so considerate. He hummed, crossing his arms. "Hey, (Y/N)."

Said girl turned to him. "Hm? What is it, Kenma-san?"

"This is random, but do you get mad?" He inquired.

"Of course I do! Don't you see me yelling at my teammates sometimes?" (Y/N) replied.

Kenma shook his head. "No, not that way. You're not even angry when you do that. You're just raising your voice. You're so patient that I think you don't get mad... mad."

(Y/N) tilted her head. "Oh really, I'm patient...? I don't know. I don't really remember how long was it since I got... extreme distaste towards something."

That's expected from her. Kenma glanced at her and observed the cheering (H/C)-haired girl with his cheek resting on top of his palm. It's always nice to see her smiling like this. I don't know what the rest of the world would do if she malds. It'll be seriously scary, I think... He noticed the change of her expression from happy to alarmed. "(Y/N), what's wrong—?" His jaw slightly dropped when he saw her jumping from her previous position.

Few minutes earlier, (Y/N) was just cheering on her companions. Her eyes widened to see a kid suddenly running in the middle. Not intentionally, but he was just chasing after a ball and it accidentally got inside the court. She gasped to see the spike that Bokuto was about to slam down on the court, head towards the child. With focused, narrowed and almost glowing (E/C) eyes, she quickly rose from her seat and lifted her leg to kick the ball away from the little boy. Before her cap could fall, she swiped on the air and gracefully caught it.

Unbeknownst to her, the boys were gaping, both in awe and shock. Even the kid had sparkles in his eyes due to how cool this onee-san did that kick. They all watched as she put on her cap and smiled at the amazed and dumbfounded child with gentle and shimmering (E/C) orbs. Her mellow voice cut off the silence ensuing the atmosphere.

"Young man, are you alright?"

Let's just say that... the volleyball athletes found more reasons to stan her.

A/N: This chapter is longgg, but I enjoyed writing it, hehehe. I also love writing interactions, so yeah, bare with me please lol. And, the plot is finally moving! Although it was quite subtle, I dropped a few things in here that are important for (Y/N)'s background. Also, the debut of Kagami and Kuroko is a spoiler and kinda gift... coming from me? Yeah, yeah, it's a gift. Looks like my xreader books are going to increase again, hehehe

Here's a doodle of (Y/N) that I did in exchange for the late updates:

Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed this! See you at the next chapter! Stay safe and healthy! Sending lots of love to all of you!
