Nah bro who needs Space Channel 5 when Ulala's Cosmic Attack is clearly the superior option
Gameboy ports of games I like are either very shitty or just like the real thing, only cheaper. I tried playing Jet Set Radio for the GBA but using a d-pad to navigate an isometric level in a roller skating game wasn't very fun lol. The graffiti parts were okay and as all JSR games go, the police brutality was top notch very realistic
Anyway that's not important that game sucks now eww
Space channel 5 is pretty fun, you're this 80ft tall whiteboard size foreheaded 6 toed having news reporter named Ulala, who has a strutting addiction, and you have the ability to save random hostages with the power of dance and vaporizing guns. Also you might not believe me but they're in space.
She's super pretty tho oml love her
Occasionally you battle with some thing named Pudding(hate her she's soo annoying) and this guy named Jaguar. Also Micheal Jackson is in it as Space Micheal, they added him to the main cast in the second game he's best character. It's a rhythm game only you have to get each line perfect to get a pass and increase your view rating.
Ulala's Cosmic Attack is just Space Channel 5 but crunchy.
They had to make budget cuts duh. Like a lot.
Ulala still has most of her dances and walks, you still collect a mob of people to dance behind you as you progress, and I think they were able to squeeze in the extra stages too. And uh Space Michael is still there too.
Buttt they had to use most of Ulala's voice clips from the beta of the Dreamcast port so now she sounds ten times more robotic than she already did, Pudding sounds more annoying than she normally does, and that one level with the seizure warning is enough to give someone a headache jesus
I tried playing it on the good old MyBoy emulator since that's my go-to, but literally before the second phase of the first boss the thing freezes and crashes. And playing on the website I got the rom from didn't do much either it just crashed with Atari noises💀 ain't no way an alien jumping was too much for it to process
The rhythm detection is kinda wonky in this port too? I mean the Dreamcast port wasn't the queen of detection or something but it's not that hard to get the timing down as a lot of people make it out to be. But oh boy this port

She has beef with Ulala for some reason and thinks she's a better reporter so you gotta have a dance battle with her goofy ass. There's this part near the end with a chu and I swearrr they messed up the timing for it bro I didn't even have time to press a button
