In the Forest

The forest behind the lilac field
Famed for its peril and mystery
For it is said that those who go in never come out
I was warned of its peril
For a while, I was wary and heeded the warnings
I frequent the fields for I so love lilacs
I saw the forest in all its glory
For a moment, I could have sworn the woods had whispered to me
Intrigue and allure slapped me in the face
I wandered into the enigmatic thicket
Not long after my entry
I felt as though I was being watched
I jerked, for the trees had grabbed me with their arms
I could not move
I was going to be imprisoned in the forest
I tried to scream
But the branches had bound and gagged me
There I remained incarcerated
Suffering in silence
I should have never entered the forest

Curiosity killed the cat ;)
