I look at the door. Park Jimin is standing there, looking like he didn't sustain the slightest injury. His hands are bandaged and I know it is because of me. I keep my eyes on him as everyone walks out. He lays on the bed beside me. I don't move an inch closer to him.
"I know that you are angry." Jimin spoke first
"Leave." I growled
"Melody. You are not there anymore." Jimin said
"I'll just kill you myself." I spat as I managed to straddle him somehow and put my hands around his neck.
He didn't move at all. He was quiet and let me squeeze. I felt the tears blur my eyes. I had fallen in love with that man at one point and I had tried to kill him more than once in the last twenty four hours. I let him go and he coughed but didn't really move. I remained there looking at him.
"What would death bring to you?" Jimin asked his voice hoarse
"Your death?" I asked
"Yes." He hummed
I didn't know how to answer his question. I remembered the torturous night, where my father would repeat at it was their fault that I had been like this. That they were the reason of my excruciating pain. Jimin sat up and brought his hand slowly to my cheeks.
"Oh, Mel, what did that monster do to you?" he whispered as he brought our forehead together
I felt the tears run down my cheek. I had experienced so much. I dragged myself off Jimin and I saw my brother step back inside the room.
"Why didn't you come for me?" I whispered
Yoongi's eyes flashed with guilt as he came closer and embraced me.
"Things happened and he...he put problems in our way one after the other. I couldn't find you as he took the necklace and sent it on the other side of the globe." He added "I'm sorry Melody."
I put my arms around him and cried. I sobbed on my brother's shoulder in silence. I felt Jimin hold me from the back and I could feel my shoulder getting wet. It was hard, to break past what happened two years ago.
To see that they had searched for me. I remember my laptop getting hacked and I remember that each time it was smashed to pieces and I was taken to that room. That torture room. I felt entirely drained of my energy.
"What happens now?" I asked my brother "I can't walk anymore. I can barely get around by myself and-"
"We will quit the mafia world. I and Jimin." Yoongi spoke
I widened my eyes slightly hearing that. Jimin was one of the best hacker there was out there and Yoongi was probably the best planner. I learned later on that he was the one who planned the charity event and lured our father out.
"Wait, wait, wait..." I said raising my hands to stop Yoongi "You are well known around the mafia world and so is Jimin."
"We're going to go to another location. I already readied everything." Yoongi answered "We'll also get regular jobs along with 20 % of what Bangtan makes per year."
The percentage was high. I knew for sure that Bangtan were billionaires if not more. But still it looked too good to be true. I mean. Why would they leave everything? Was that another trick from Namjoon? I was really confused.
However, it really did happen. Jungkook and the others helped us plan everything. My father would be taken care of by Taehyung and Hoseok. Hoseok had been the main hacker of the band before Jimin. Yoongi had been chosen as the planner because he was good at everything, but Namjoon was more than able to fulfill that role.
I didn't see Seokjin before the departure.
He had been opposed to Yoongi and Jimin leaving Bangtan.
I stared at the passing trees and wondered quietly what had happened in the last four years of my life. I had never graduated from college and would maybe. I had gained and lost friends. Been betrayed and experienced all kind of trauma, but I always survived. Jimin was driving the car I was in, holding my hand and squeezing it from time to time.
"Being a Mafia was never for me." he said at one point
"What do you mean?" I asked
"I was the son of a prostitute. I have no idea who my father is. I was offered to a mafia gang because my mother was drowning under her debts." I squeezed his hand "I have an inkling that my mother could have been like you.
A Pina, but I have no idea if that is the case. She was killed and fortunately Namjoon's father who was the head of Bangtan at the time was in war with the clan who had bought me. He raised me to be an emotionless and merciless killer which answered to Namjoon's every whims."
I could tell that he recalling such things was tough.
"But you have emotions. You have beautiful emotions. You care about me." I smiled weakly
He nodded. It had in fact taken a month for everything to be settled. I had more than once had night terrors or nightmares and Jimin was always there, right beside me. It made me dependent of him. I knew that of course, but he didn't care.
He wanted me to depend on him.
I was slowly healing. I would maybe even be able to walk one day.
"Your brother was the one who gave me emotions back." He eye smiled
Quite surprised, I frowned
"But my brother's the king of emotionlessness." I said
"He might look like it." Jimin shook his head "But he saved me. He saved you. Yoongi's probably the reason why we are still both alive."
"What do you mean?" I wondered "For me I get it, but for you?"
"When I was still a killer in training" he grimaced at the chosen word "I was told that Kwon had found a hacker. A talented hacker. That he was the one responsible of Namjoon's father death, planning the perfect attack. I had a hard time believing it at first." he continued
"My brother is responsible for Namjoon's father death?" I asked bewildered "The king of the Mafia?"
"Yeah." Jimin smiled "Your brother planned the embuscade and even Namjoon didn't see it coming. To be honest, it was master move. But I was told by Namjoon to get Yoongi Hyung back to Bangtan's HQ. Alive." he added
"Alive?" I questioned "Why alive?"
"Namjoon had planned several assassin's attempt to kill his own father. Namjoon's father was a greedy asshole. He killed innocents. Children, pregnant women..." Jimin closed his eyes a short moment and looked away from me
He also killed innocent. I didn't know how Namjoon's father raised him. However, I remember the first time I saw him. His eyes were like blurred. Not a single emotion sliding out. If he had been worse before meeting my brother.... I was not sure on how I would have reacted to him.
"Anyway, the point is that I was order to track Yoongi. At the time, I was with Hoseok. Hoseok was...He cared for me like a little brother. His situation was drastically different, because he was born in the mafia world. We later on learned that Namjoon's father had been the one killing his father and his big sister, making their mother suicide... Anyway, I'm getting away from the subject again." he chuckled
"I think that you have a lot in you Jimin. You don't need to be ashamed. I'm listening to you." I smiled
Jimin looked at me and he parked the car. Yoongi parked beside us, but I hadn't time to ask him what was going on as he leaned forward and kissed me. It was a soft kiss, the one that gives you butterfly and makes you melt. I returned the kiss and heard my brother groan.
"That's why you stopped?" he grumbled "Jimin, I'll kill you." he menaced
"It's time for a break anyway." I chuckled
"I was telling her about my story with you." Jimin said as he stepped out of the car
Yoongi looked at Jimin for a long time and nodded. I had somehow understood that Jimin and my brother were close to each other. There was a good reason that they both parted from the Mafia world together. As much as I wished that it was only for me, I knew that Jimin while it was partially because of me, it was mainly because of my brother.
"Where were you?" Yoongi asked as he closed his car and settled chairs outside
"When Namjoon's father ordered I and Hoseok to track you." Jimin explained
Yoongi hummed and opened my door. I had taken my seatbelt off and he slid his hand under my knees and lifted me up with ease.
"We really need to feed you more Mel." he sighed while frowning and setting me down on a camping chair
"You always were a good cook." Jimin praised my brother "Brother-in law."
Both I and Yoongi looked at Jimin in disbelief as he awkwardly looked back at us.
"Is that a proposal?" I whispered feeling myself blush

Author's note:
This is probably the shortest chapter ever. But I liked finishing there. The end is a bit more light hearted than the rest of the story. I felt like ending on a good note.
I don't know honestly which story I will post next. I'm thinking...I don't know. I'll probably post something next to this one. A long story? A hybrid one that I wrote a long time ago perhaps? I'm still not sure. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed Mafia 2. It was abit darker than my other stories perhaps, but writing it was interesting.
