An arrow through the heart,
Shattering glass,
Poison for the mind,
A cage.
A puppet on strings,
Quiet and still,
Looking but unseeing,
Hollow.
It dances and preforms,
Lives up to expectations,
Gives them everything they want,
Prides itself with dedication
All to see a smile
And get nothing in return,
It was all fine for a while,
Now it can feel itself burn,
The eyes make holes into its frame,
The strings turn into chains,
The dedication into panic,
Expectations into weights,
The arrow infects my body,
Rots into my very soul,
All for questions never answered,
All for people I can't control,
The glass shatters into chaos,
Not a pattern to be seen,
Words and people into a mess,
And everything can't be as before,
The poison courses through my mind,
The line between the the truth and reality
Driving me insane, bending words
Pulling at the strings until they break,
And all that remains is,
A puppet without a puppeteer,
Voiceless and broken,
Seeing without understanding,
Knowing, but emptier than before.
