How did he talk himself into this?
There he was in the cove where he first saw the Nightfury and the rider.
He peaked his head from his shield as he held a fish in his other hand.
He threw the fish before hiding away..... a moment went by nothing. He slowly came out but sadly his shield did not come as it was wedged between two rocks. He crawled under it and went to grab the fish. Slowly walking around searching for the rider or the dragon.
Then he heard something in the trees, then saw the arrow fire he ran near the shield, then he heard the voice it sounded so deep and rough, "Who are you?" The shadowed figure asked in a serious tone, as they drew another arrow.
Getting ready to shoot at the lanky brunette. Hiccup could only fumble with his words as he tried to keep his calm, "Please I-I-I don't mean any harm!" He said.
"I don't believe you." They said as they edged out of the shadows. He couldn't even contain his blush.
The rider revealed herself, she looked beautiful her features made her a warrior yet so soft. Her (b/t) was so amazing. Hiccup could only dream about how it would be to hold her. Her (h/c/l) blew in the wind, as she walked closer to him.
But even with this already blooming crush, he then heard two dragon growls.
Hiccup could've shat his pants as he saw the Nightfury looming over him, as it sat on top of the rock.
Another dragon, this dragon had midnight-black scales with glints of purple and deep blue in them. There were silver scales on the underside of it's wings that sprayed outward, like a splash of water.
It had black head with horns coming out of it head, like the rider and claws. Hiccup could only back up and stammer in shock. He didn't see the other dragon. Hell he never saw the dragon before.
"Why are you here?" She asked, Hiccup now realized that she was talking to him, and cleared his throat.
"I-" his voice cracked as he cleared it again. "I'm not here to hurt you! I wanna- Get to know you!" He said nearly tripping on his own words.
The rider looked at him before lowering her bow, and walked closer to him, her eyes glowed (f/c) and read his mind.
"Please don't kill me! I only have questions!"
"I'm going to die and I don't even have a girlfriend!"
"I didn't mean to hurt you and the Nightfury!"
Were a few of his thoughts, and many more ramblings on nonsense. "Why are you here?" She asked crossing her arms.
Hiccup staggered and got up, "I uh, I wanna get to know you and the Nightfury." He said. "So what's your name?"
"Why would I trust you with my name?" The rider asked. "Because, I want you to trust me." He said.
He then gasped as the starry night dragon, came towards the rider and let out a low growl as the rider nodded, before scratching it's head. Hiccup after a few moments, then regained his composure, "My name's Hiccup."
The rider stared at him, her black wings fluttered a bit, before she anything. Her eyes glowed a (f/c) and checked his mind, again.
"She's pretty."
"What kind of Dragon is that, maybe I'll ask her about it later."
"Is she reading my mind? Oh gods, they must be embarrassing."
The rider stared at him, and for the first time. Giggled, which caused Hiccup to blush. "Thank you, Iccup." She said, not saying his name right. Hiccup awkwardly joined in the laugh and said, "It's actually Hiccup."
The Rider looked at him, "That's what I said," But Hiccup shook his head, "My names Hiccup, with an H." He explained, The rider looked at him and nodded, "I keep that mind, Hiccup with an H." Then said, "Okay then, my name's (Y/n),"
"(Y/n)?....That's a beautiful name." He blurted. (Y/n) looked at him and smiled. "Thank you." She said, but the starry winged dragon nudged her, cooing and making a weird noise. She nodded and said something in a language he didn't understand.
He leaned over to get a good look at him. "I must also take your sacrifice." Said (Y/n),
Hiccup paused.
A lump formed in his throat, as he thought about what she said, Sacrifice? Was she going to feed him to the dragons, he could feel his legs almost give in. His heart was beating so fast, as fear nearly overpowered him.
"S-Sacrifice?" His voice cracked.
Then (Y/n) pointed to the fish in his hand, "The fish?" She asked tilting her head confused. "The fish is a sacrifice right? Or is it a decorative thing you walkers have." She said putting her hands on her hips.
He blushed from the witty remark, "Actually It's for the..." He tried finding some way to say it more politely, instead of sounding more favoring towards the other dragon.
"The Nightfury, it's okay, we have sheep." (Y/n) replied, then said, "I suggest you keep that kindness," she said.
Hiccup wanted to ask how she knew, but thought not to ask, maybe it was rude to assume such rudeness.
He nodded, as (Y/n) moved to the side, and broadened her wings to stretch them.
As Hiccup walked towards the Nightfury, it loomed over and crept down from the rock. It sniffed at Hiccup and the fish, slowly it approached him, then retreated upon seeing Hiccup's knife. (Y/n) raised an eyebrow as she watched, maybe this was a good idea.
Hiccup looked at the dragon then realized the dragon felt threatened. He look at where the Nightfury was staring at in fear.
Hiccup reached for his knife, but the dragon growled. He picked it up with caution, before dropping it. His eyes parting from the dragon, the dragon jerked it's head to the side, as if to say, 'Toss it.'
Hiccup picked up his knife with his foot and tossed the knife into water.
The E res relaxed, and became a bit more friendly. He raised the fish, the dragon stared, coming closer as it opened it's mouth to grab the fish.
(Y/n) smiled as the dragon and Hiccup were starting pretty good.
Hiccup looked at the Nightfury, and tilted his head confused, "Huh. Toothless. I could've sworn you had..." but the scrawny Ofc ithe brunette didn't finish his sentence, the Nightfury's teeth suddenly popped out of it's gums, snatching the fish, chomping it in half.
Hiccup quickly pulled his hands back in shocker as the dragon feasted.
"...teeth." He said quietly, Toothless started to approach him, sniffing for more fish. He started backing up before his back was pressed against a rock. "Uh, uh, no, no, no. I-I don't have any more."
(Y/n) glided to the rock and smiled, which reassured Hiccup, "So far so good." She said giving a thumbs up. Hiccup looked back at Toothless, his eyes went to the back of his head, then regurgitated half of the fish.
It landed on his lap, the went slimy spit on the fish was enough to make Hiccup barf. He looked at (Y/n) who only watched him.
As Toothless, started to direct Hiccup through biting and swallowing it.
The process was hard to watch, Hiccup had to force the gross fish to go down. As he swallowed, (Y/n) tried everything to suppress a giggle. "How do you feel?" She asked, "Grossed out." Hiccup replied in a joking matter.
It took a minute for her to get the joke, apparently, eating fish alongside with dragons was a thing from where she was from.
But she ended up giving him a small head pat, which made Hiccup smile along with a tinted blush sprinkled on his cheeks. Toothless looked at Hiccup, trying to return his smile.
Hiccup's smile faded and was replaced with wonder and amazement. He couldn't believe it a Nightfury smiling. Wow this was in credible! He wanted to reach out, touch the dragon as a way of being peaceful, showing he was no longer a threat.
He slowly raised his hand, reaching towards him. But Toothless wasn't ready to sign that treaty, he snarled and flied away.
Hiccup looked up to see (Y/n), she had left her post ontop of the rock. He heard her flap her wings gliding over to the ledge rock.
Toothless however, ignited a small patch of dirt and laid on top of it. Getting ready to sleepy, the other dragon the starry one, was more into the sheep, while the girl looked at the sky, humming to herself.
Hiccup looked at her and walked towards her, and tried climbing up to join her. It was hard but it looked pathetic. "What are you doing?" A voice said beside him. "Trying to get up to see you." He said, looking at her but then realized she was next to him.
"Why not try to interact with the Nightfury." She said, Hiccup looked at her, and said "How about Toothless?" He said,
"What?"
"What about calling the Nightfury, Tooothless."
She looked at him, and then said, "Let's see if he accepts you first. To call him that."
She said. As she took Hiccup's hand and walked towards the Nightfury, Hiccup looked at her and sat down.
The dragon looked up watching a bird chirp, and fly off. Not paying attention to the two, but when he looked back, he saw Hiccup and (Y/n).
Hiccup gave a small wave, as the Nightfury turned away to not face them. Hiccup looked at (Y/n) who nodded.
Scooting closer towards the dragon. Before trying to reach over, the tail raised and showed the Green eyes of the Nightfury, Hiccup took that as a sign and got up quickly walking off.
So did the Nightfury, leaving (Y/n) who looked between them, and flapped her wings. Following Hiccup, for some reason she was intrigued about this boy.

After some time, Toothless slept, hanging upside down like a bat. Hiccup was sitting on a rock with (Y/n) who as asleep on his side.
Toothless looked the two, and walked up to them, watching behind him, seeing Hiccup drawing Toothless in the sand.
An artistic mind awoken in him, before going off to find a branch- er, a tree. This caught Hiccup's attention, and (Y/n) who almost fell on the dirt but Hiccup caught her, waking her up.
The two watched as, Toothless drew in the sand.
"What is he doing?"
(Y/n) shrugged, and said, "Never seen him draw before." She said.
The Nightfury stood on the outside of the drawing, and stared at Hiccup. As Hiccup walked and stepped on a line. Toothless growled
He picked his foot up,
Toothless purred.
Foot on the line,
Toothless growled, stepping closer.
Off the line?
Toothless purred.
He looked at (Y/n), who gave a thumbs up. Hiccup stepped over the lines, watching his step as he looked around to finally reach Toothless.
Finally he reached the ended his back hit the dragon's underbelly. Feeling the Nightfury's breath breeze through his hair.
A moment of silence, as Hiccup looked away and offered his hand. Finally Toothless touched his nose to Hiccup's hand.
Hiccup, who was holding in a breath finally exhaled and panted. As he looked at the Nightfury, who looked back at him, and snorted before running away.

As they walked from the cove, and to the woods, Hiccup then said, "I'm sorry." Before looking down, not daring to meet her gaze.
(Y/n) looked at him, "For what?"
"Shooting you down, disabling Toothless." He said.
(Y/n) cupped his cheek and made her look at him, in his brown eyes. "Sometimes a dark mistake, can become the best opportunity for some." She said, smiling. "Toothless forgives you, I forgive you." She said.
Hiccup blushed as she spoke, and said, "You didn't have to walk me home." He said, "I have to." She said, "Well, I actually want to." She said, and walked ahead of him.
That's when he noticed how bent her wing was, it wasn't too bad, but it was a yikes. "You should get that checked out." He said, gesturing to her wings.
"It will heal." She said,
Hiccup couldn't help but feel bad. No that was an understatement, he felt guilty. (Y/n) was being so nice to him and for what?
He finally saw a light from his village and said, "There it is." He said pointing to the buildings. "You live there?" She asked. Hiccup nodded,
"What's it like?"
"A whole surplus of dragon killing Vikings." He replied in a joking tone.
(Y/n) tilted her head, "Was that meant to be funny?" She asked,
"No no no! I didn't mean to say it like that." He said, "I just mean, when you're a barrel full of bad luck like me, you don't get a lot of good street credit." He said.
"Oh, that sounds awful." She said, "Yeah, it is- Oh! No it's not awful."
Now (Y/n) was confused, "It's not?" Hiccup shook his head,
"It's pretty decent, all you have to do is kill a dragon." He said, "Something I can't do."
(Y/n) looked at him knowing how he felt, she too was not liked among her clan, but she nudged him, and said "You don't need to prove yourself."
Hiccup smiled, "So when will I see you again?"
"Only time will tell." (Y/n) replied, and kissed his forehead. "A way my people show gratitude." She said
Hiccup blushed furiously, and looked down, chuckling and rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly before blurting, "I have a drawing of you."
(Y/n) blushed and smiled, "I would love to see it, when I see you again."
"You got it!" He said, and backed up to his village before looking at her and saying, "By the way I like your wings." He said and turned and his a tree face first, he backed up and chuckled, holding his nose in pain.
"Gods that was embarrassing." He thought, as he walked to his house, in a happy haze.
Even after that second hand and first hand embarrassment, all he could think about was (Y/n).
And little did he know, (Y/n) was thinking about him too.
