I squinted my eyes at the TV infront of me, munching on my cereal as I carefully read the temperatures.
I just groan when it says its going to be 3 digits for today.
My phone started to ring, the picture of my dad showing on the screen. Sighing, I picked it up and accepted the call.
"Hello father."
"Amelia, it's good to hear your voice." I heard him say. "I just want to check up on you, how you been holding up?"
I resist the urge to roll my eyes but kept my neutral tone. "I've been doing good, grades are still A's as always."
"That's good, our business here in Las Vegas will be over soon. So your mother and I will be coming home in a week."
I bit my lips, forcing myself to ask to be 'nice'. "How's mother doing?"
"She's at the spa relaxing after going on a shopping spree. You know how she is."
"Of course..."
What was that?"
"Oh, I said of course." I said it more loudly enough to make him know I'm annoyed. I heard him sigh.
"Alright, I'll let you go now."
"Bye, father." I hanged up immediately, not wanting to hear him any longer.
Finishing up my cereal, I put them in the dishwasher and went back up to my room to get ready for the day.
I do not get along with my parents. As much as I try to, I can only tolerate them in appropriate amount of time.
Simply because they were never there for me, they mainly focus on their work. Most of my childhood consists of the family's nanny taking care of me while they're away.
When my parents do come home, I only face with mother's harsh criticism.
Be polite. Stand straight, don't slouch. Be more ladylike, dress more feminine. Don't wear an ugly clothing. Wear more makeup.
My father... I guess he just doesn't care; only asking that I'll need to take over his job one day and be like him.
Which I hate that considering I want to become a famous writer.
He doesn't show it, but he wasn't happy.

"You look hot."
"Literally or figuratively?" I ask my best friend while grabbing some drinks for the both of us.
Jade just shrug a bit before thanking me as she took a sip. "He's definitely gonna kill you."
I just rolled my eyes as we made our way to the outside for lunch period. "It's hot and I have no choice so these shorts are my last resort. Besides, I'm technically wearing somethingthat covers it." I stated, showing my summer theme cardigan.
"How much you wanna bet he's gonna try and cover you up?"
"I will run away and take you with me because you're my best friend."
"Ditching school? Alright, I'm in." We both laugh a bit before seeing our friends. Jade immediately stop smiling for 'reputation'.
"Hey, Robbie. You done with that water?"
He immediately held it close to him."No!"
I smack Jade's arm. "Dude, I just bought you a drink not too long ago."
"But I want his." She says before looking back at him. "Give it to me!"
"Alright!" He quickly surrenders his water. I rolled my eyes before giving my friend a spare water. He immediately thank me before I finally sat next to my boyfriend.
He looks at me up and down before raising an eyebrows. "Well, aren't you looking hot."
I blushed deeply at his words, causing him to laugh at me before kissing my forehead softly. "I'll let it slide since it's a hot day. Plus. You're with me. I'll fend off any weirdos who stares at my girl for too long."
He reach down my hand and squeezed it. We both look back at the group to noticed that they're talking about Jade not sweating.
"Oh yeah, she never does."
"What do you mean, she never sweats?" Tori ask in confusion.
"Sweating is gross, so I don't do it."
Tori decided to make a joke. "So, you're just, like, what? Cold blooded?"
I put my face against Beck's chest to hide my amused smile.
As the rest of the group kept talking, I decided to tell him what happen. "My love? Guess who called this morning."
He looks down on me, seeing the look on my face. He sighs. "Your parents?"
"Yeah." I lean forward to get more comfy, grabbing his hands to play with it. "They called in to see what I've been doing. They're coming home in a week."
"Oh, Amy. Are you gonna be okay?"
"Yeah, but if I seem like I'm in a grumpy mood, that's why."
"If it makes you feel any better, you look like a cute angry bunny when you do."
I look up and gave him a pout. "No I don't."
He smile before leaning down and give me a kiss, his other free hand caressing my face. "My adorable bunny."

I closed my locker while forming a straight line on my lips. "Do I have to go?"
"Yes, come on! It'll be really fun!"
Apparently, the gang decided to go to Venice Beach this weekend to cool off. Everyone is excited and even Beck offered to drive his RV with his uncle's pick-up truck to go.
But I refused to go. Only because one: It's sandy and the sun will literally burn the sand so I rather have my feet intact and two: I feel very insecure wearing my bikini. Even if I wear a one piece.
It's too revealing. Atleast what I'm wearing today still covers my skin with my summer cardigan.
I look at Cat, groaning slightly. "But it's so hot, the beach makes it twice as that."
"It's kinda ironic that you like the beach too." André pointed, glancing the my locker besides me. I huff a little. "If the weather is at night time and the weather is more chilly then yes, I'll definitely go."
Cat grabbed my hands and starts shaking it around, bouncing and tugging it. "I promise it'll be really really fun!"
"Yeah. It's not the same if you're not there either." André says while our red-head friend nodded in agreement.
Looking up at them both, they give me their pleading looks. I let out a big sigh. "Fine, but I'm not going for a swim until I feel comfortable then."
Cat let out an exciting squeal, hugging me tightly causing me to giggle at this. "Yay! Let's go to the mall to buy some new swimsuits! I'll tell Jade and Tori to come!" She let go and quickly skipping away before I could stop her.
I look back at André who just gave me thumbs."Whatever you're comfortable with, Amy. There's no pressure."
I gave him a grateful smile before dropping it, suddenly noticed his concern expression. "What's with the look?"
He look around before leaning towards me, whispering a bit. "Is your bruised still there?"
I almost forgot that he knew about that.
I moved down my cardigan a bit to show him. "Honestly, it doesn't hurt anymore. It's no longer showing as it faded while back. I put on a bit of cover up with make-up so no one questions it. But I'll be fine."
I pulled back my cardigan, fixing myself up. He looks at me with a pity look. "I'm sorry that it even happen."
"Hey, don't worry about it." I reassure him, patting his back before the bell rings for next class. I look back at him. "See ya later?"
"Yeah. I'll see ya, Amy." We both hug each other before parting our ways. to our own class.

Beck held my hand the entire car ride to the beach. Our friends chilling on his RV. He looks over me once in awhile and I catch him smiling. I couldn't help but smile back.
"Enjoying the view?"
"Why yes. You look absolutely gorgeous today, I couldn't help but stare at you the entire time."
I blush a little before waving him off. "As much as I appreciate the flattery, I want you to focus on the road."
He put his hand on his chest, mocking of being hurt. "Ow, you doubt my driving skills?"
I rolled my eyes playfully. "The first time you got your driving license, I remember holding on to my seat very tightly."
"We were on the lowest speed limit on the school zone."
"Can you blame me? New driver behind the wheel, it scares me!" I defended myself. He just laugh at me.
We finally arrived at the beach. Beck park the RV parking lot. He turned off the engine before getting out of the car.
Before I could even step out, he push me back in and slam the door.
My jaw drop when he open the door again. He gave me an innocent smile, brushing off the fact that he push me back in just so he can open the door for me.
I pretended that I got annoyed, but a smile was fighting it's way up to my face when I see him trying not to laugh.
"Wow, you are such a gentleman aren't you?" I ask him in my sarcastic tone, getting out of the car.
"I do it out love." I give him a quick kiss before meeting up our friends.
I noticed that Cat had already ran out of the RV in a hurry. I grab my beach bag that's filled with what I needed and look at Beck. "I'm going on ahead to find a spot for us while keeping Cat company, I'll text you when I find a place. Good plan?"
He nods at me before embracing tightly, kissing my face all over before letting me go. "Alright. Be safe, okay?"
"Always." I kiss him once more before walking off with my beach bag on my shoulder.
"Cat, wait up!" I yelled out, following her little red hair through the crowd.

Beck's P.O.V
"Hey, where's Amy?" Jade ask, noticing she's not with me.
"She went up ahead to company Cat while finding a spot for us." I answered, kept glancing down my phone. I miss my Amelia.
I look at everyone in the RV. "Who's ready for beach fun?"
Everyone cheered in excitement, grabbing their stuff. "Beck, this R.V. is so cool." Trina compliment it, looking around awe.
I smile at the words. "Oh, thanks!"
"Aw, is this you and Amy?" Tori ask, looking at the picture frame that's hanging on the wall. I smiled widely.
"Yeah. That was taken on the amusement park we went together." I went over and stare at the photo, remembering that moment. "I set the camera on timer, ran back at her side and immediately kiss her as it took the picture. She love every second of it, she even has the copy of it in her room."
I chuckle a little. "I remember she got shy of how people would look at us weirdly during that moment but I didn't care. All I care about is her. I wanted to show her off to everyone because she's everything to me."
"Aww, she is so lucky."
"Um, do you have a brother or a cousin who thinks like you? Asking for me." Trina butted in my and Tori's conversion. I just shook my head no.
I look back at the photo, missing my girl already.

Amelia's P.O.V
"Did you put on sunscreen, sweetie?" I ask Cat, putting some on my neck.
"Oh, I did. Do you need help with that?" I shook my head no, holding the bag close. "Nah, I got it. Let's go find a spot and meet back with the others."
"'Kay-'kay!" She went a bit of a head, but not too far. I kept looking around the place. I look at my phone to check for any messages, already missing my boyfriend.
I suddenly bump into Cat who stop. "Ow, Cat? What happen?"
"Do you hear that music playing?" I stop for a moment to listen before nodding my head. "Yeah, I can."
We decided to follow it and it keeps getting closer and closer. We stop at the group of guys of our age who were just chilling and talking.
Cat, being friendly and outgoing friend she is, spoke up. "Hi!"
The boys looked at us and gave a friendly smile. I even noticed that one of them was look at Cat more intently.
They greeted back. "Hey."
"What's that song you're playing?"
They look at the speakers before shrugging a bit. "I'm not sure."
Cat continued to smile. "Well, it's really cool."
The boys look at each other before look back at us. "Do you girls wanna hang out with us?"
I decided to say something. "Sorry. We um, can't. We have to get back to our friends soon."
"Oh, come on."
"Just hang with us for a few minutes."
"Please?"
I bit my lips, kept looking back and forth at Cat and the guys. My friend gave me her puppy eyes. I sighed. "Alright, alright. We'll stay for a few minutes."
They let out a cheer and providing us some comfort seats. I thank one of them as we hang out together.

Beck's P.O.V
That stupid RV is blocking the doorway.
We've been here for almost half an hour in this toast oven vehicle. Cat and Amy are still out and we were all hoping they'd be back by now.
Are the girls okay? What's taking them so long?"
"Where are Amy and Cat?" I hear Tori says, exhaustion in her voice.
"The red-head only weighs 90 pounds. How much pee can she hold? And where's Amy? I was hoping she come back already."
I let out a sigh. "There's 50-50 chance that she got distracted with something."
"Oh man, with Amy's short attention span and Cat weirdness, they're both not able to get here on time."
"That's it. I'm calling them. What's their number?" Trina ask, pulling out her phone.
"Beck already tried."
"No signal." I muttered, a bit sad and worried that I can't receive anything at all if she texted me.
André groaned loudly. "Aw man, I told y'all not to get F-Mobile!"

Amelia's P.O.V
"Hey, you okay?" I look up and it was Nate who ask me. I just sighed. "I guess. I've been trying to call my boyfriend for the last 5 minutes but he hasn't pick up."
"Sometimes, the signal here is low. So there's a chance that he isn't receiving a signal from wherever he is."
I look down on my phone, frowning at the new information. "Man, I didn't think that."
"You can go on ahead and find him? I can keep you company if you like while we search him." I gave him a small smile. "Thanks for the offer, but I don't feel comfortable with being alone with someone I just met. Besides, I also can't leave my friend behind too."
Nate gave me a nod, understanding my words. "Of course. No offense taken. It's good that you're being cautious."
I can tell that Nate is just trying to be nice and he is. I'm glad that I can call someone like him a friend without making things awkward.
I was brought back to reality when I felt a cold water splash on my face. I gasps, jumping out of the chair along with Nate.
"Amy, here! Use this!" I immediately caught the water gun and aim it at attackers, who happens to be Cat and the rest of the guys.
"Oh you guys are going down!"
"Not if we got you first!"
I squeeled loudly when I got attacked from behind, and mock a loud gasp. "Nate! You betrayed me?!"
"Sorry young lady, but it's boys versus girls!"
The boys surrounded us and kept spraying the water on us. Cat and I pressing our backs together as we tried to take them down.
"It's so cold! It's so cold!"
"My god, it is freezing! Take this!"

"Cat, we have to go now. It's been an hour and I have not heard from them yet." I told her once we finished eating the frozen treat.
She got a bit sad but nodded in understanding. "Yeah, you're right." She look back at the boys. "Sorry you guys. we have to leave and get back to our friends."
"Aw, really?"
"That's a bummer."
"At least we had fun."
"Hey, let's keep in touch." I suggested, pulling out my phone. They got excited and we exchange contacts together, Cat already making a groupchat called "Beach Buddies!"
Once we got our stuff back, I smiled and wrap my arms around Cat's shoulders. "It was really fun hanging out with you guys. Let's do this again soon!"
"Stay safe, you girls!"
We waved a goodbye before walking off and going to find our own friends.
"Do you think they're in the RV?"
"Well, let's see and find out." I look back at the beach, taking a quick mental note that I found a spot before continuing our walk.
When we got to the RV, Cat ran up ahead and open the door.
"Hi, everyone!"
My eyes widened in shock when everyone immediately ran out of the vehicle, André and Beck going to the cooler and handing out the drinks to everyone.
"Hey, what- Whoa, you are all sweaty." I recoiled my hand back, making Jade glared at me. "Never speak of it!"
"What even happened?" Cat ask, all confused.
"We were trapped in there."
"For hours."
"Uh, it was technically an hour-"
"No no, It's an hour and a half because I included our walk back here." I told Cat, look at the clock in my phone.
I suddenly had this weird thought. "Wait, if you're trapped, why didn't you guys just open the door?"
Chugging down the water, Beck pointed out. "'Cuz there's a gigantic R.V. parked right..." He stop midway when he noticed there's nothing there on the empty parking space.
"I guess they left and we didn't even know."
Once they look more calm and more hydrated, Tori started talking. "Come on, guys. It's only 4:30. And there's a large pacific ocean right over there. Let's enjoy that ocean!"
As everyone excitedly went out to the beach, I got held back by Beck.
"Amy, are you and Cat okay?"
I look at my boyfriend. It's only us now, alone in the parking lot. I think this is a good time to talk to him.
Guilt was consuming me before hugging him tightly, telling him everything that had happen.
"I am so sorry that we took so long to get back here, Beck. Cat met these new group of guys, who are respectful and kind, and I noticed that Cat and this dude wereaking googly eyes at each other. They wanted to hang out, I agreed for only few minutes, you know?" He nodded, continuing to listen to me.
"I kept trying to call you too, but you didn't pick up. That's when one of the dudes told me that the signal here is low and chances are that you weren't able to receive any signal."
"Yeah, we couldn't."
"A-And we got distracted by playing water fight and frozen treat and I decided to stand in my ground and told Cat to look back for you guys and I'm so sorry for not coming back soon and it's my fault-"
"Whoa, hey. Amelia. Breathe for me." Beck held my face with both of his hands, making me look at him.
"It's okay. You're okay. We're okay. You're not in trouble, but I accept your apology. I love you."
I sniffled, tearing up slowly. "I love you much more, Beck. I love you."
"Shh. Stop apologizing, darling." He embrace me tightly, kissing my forehead.
"Now come on. Let's have our own date while the group does their own thing, yeah?"
I wipe my tears once more and nodded in agreement, not able to speak at the moment.
Beck hold my hands as we begin to walk away together, occasionally whispering 'i love you' on the way.
