Minulat ko ang mga mata ko at ilang sandali pang pinagmasdan ang hindi pamilyar na ceiling sa paningin ko. Napatingin ako sa paligid, ang lahat ay hindi pamilyar, ngayon ko lang ito nakita. Lumipat ang tingin ko sa katabi ko.
Napangiti ako ng makitang himbing itong nakatulog. Tinignan ko ang sarili ko para alamin kung totoo ba ang nangyare kagabi. May damit naman na ako, pero hindi ko ito damit. Dahan-dahan akong tumayo upang hindi magising si James.
Napatili ako at pabagsak na napaupo sa kama ng maramdaman ang sakit.
"Grace, what's wrong?" Agad namang napabangon si James at lumapit sa akin.
Naluluha akong tumingin sakaniya.
"Damn," He said and hug me. "I'm sorry," He softly said.
Nanatili pa kami sa ganong ayus hanggang sa napagdesisyonan nalang namin na magpadeliver ng pag-kain. Pinilit ako ni James na dito muna sa kuwarto niya at aayusin niya lang ang kakainin namin.
Napabaling ulit ako sa buong kuwarto, it paint in a gray color, panglalakeng panlalake ang dating. I look at to my hand when I remember something from last night. OmyGod! I thought I'm dreaming, but it's not! It really have a ring in my right ring finger.
It was designed in a small diamond. I like it, it was simply but elegant. As a Doctor it was really suit on me, hindi malaki hindi rin maliit sakto lang.
Napatingin ako sa nagbukas na pinto napangiti ako kaya napangiti rin si James. Sabi na nga ba eh! Mas gwagwapo pa talaga siya pag nakangiti.
"The food is ready, should I carry you?"
I pouted, "I can walk!"
"Uhuh, let me see," He said and tilted in the door, he cross his arms over his chest as he waiting on me.
I slowly walk, it was still hurt but not a while ago because James already massage it. Lumakad ako pero paika-ika nga lang, nang nasa harap na ako ni James natatawang napa-iling nalang siya at inakbayan na ako para maalalayan.
We ate our breakfast and after that we decided to not to go in the hospital, James said I most be take a rest. I agree to that because my mine was really still in sore, I could still feel James his in inside of me.
I was quietly watching Netflix because James was in his phone again. Hindi nga pumuntang hospital, pero nasa hospital parin ang atensiyon niya. But I understand that because I'm a Doctor too.
Umupo sa tabi ko si James at seryoso paring kausap ang kausap niya sa phone niya. Inakbayan niya ako kaya sumiksik naman ako sakaniya.
"It's fine, kumalma ka lang," Saad nito.
Ah, siguro isa sa mga patience niya sa Pinas. Pinagpatuloy ko nalang ang panonood ko at kumain ng nachos.
Napatingin ako sa phone ko ng hindi naman ako umuwi kagabi ngunit wala atang tumatawag at naghahanap sa akin. Tiyak na nakarating na kila Lola Astrid na hindi ako umuwi kagabi kaya ireready ko na ang tenga ko.
Pinindot ko ang recent calls at namilog ang mata ko ng makitang tumawag si Lola Astrid kagabi at nasagot ito. Hindi ko siya sinagot, ngayon lang siya tumawag magmula ng nasa Pilipinas sila. Sinagot kaya ni James?
Napangiti ako pagpasok ko sa kuwarto ko dito sa hospital.
"How's your beautiful yours?" James ask.
"I can walk firmly now!" Pagtataray ko.
Napa-iling na natatawang tumayo si James para mayakap at mahalikan ako. "So it's fine now huh? we can do it again, here,"
Agad ko namang sinamaan siya ng tingin at pinalo ang braso niyang nakapulupot sa bewang ko. Natatawang umiling ulit si James at hinalikan ulit ang noo ko.
"Just kidding, my love,"
"Doc! doc!" Nagulat ako kaya bigla kung naitulak si James dahil sa sigaw ni Kew na mukang tumakbo pa. Hinihingal siyang napatigil rin sa harap namin dahil nakita niya ata ang itsura namin ni James.
"Ah, hehe pasensya na po, pero Doc kailangan po kayo ngayon sa emergency," Sabi ni Kew at tinuro pa ako.
Agad-agad ko namang kinuha ang coat ko at tumakbo papuntang emergency kasama si Kew, hindi na ako nakapagpaalam kay James dahil sa pagmamadali na rin.
My heart get hurt when I saw a lot of children was injured. They are wearing their dirty uniform. I immediately approach one of them and check it. The emergency was so loud and mess because of their cry and a lot of children.
Nanghihina akong napaupo sa isa sa mga bench, napapikit nalang ako sa pagod. Buti nalang at walang nag-agaw buhay sa mga bata. Nawalan daw kasi ng preno ang sinasakyan nilang school bus.
Dahan-dahan akong napamulat at tumingin sa tabi ko ng biglang lumakas at bumilis ulit ang tibok ng puso ko dahil sa pag-upo niya sa tabi ko. Pinatong ko ang ulo ko sa balikat niya.
Agad naman akong napaayos ng upo ng makita ang ibinibigay niya sa akin.
"You need this, you need a energy, Grace." Saad niya bago itinusok ang straw.
"Grandmother will get..." I stop talking when he held my face.
"Your grandmother wasn't here, you don't have to worry my love, I'm here to protect you. I know you miss this so much," He said and give me again the chukie.
My eyes get tear's. Is he serious? he gonna protect me from my grandmother just to drink my favorite drink that I haven't taste how many year's. My lips tremble as I try to sip on it, my tear's fall as I taste the chukie.
"OmyGod, I can't believe this," I said and my tear's fall again.
James wipe my tear's and kiss my temple, "I'll do everything for you, everything that makes you happy. Everything my love."
Suminghot ako at napayakap sakaniya, nakayakap ako sakaniya habang ineenjoy ang chukie'ng binigay niya sa akin, I miss the taste of it. I damn miss chukie so much.
"Thank you James," I said still hugging him.
"I can't wait to marry you, so I can spoil you from everything you want." He whispere and kiss my hair.
I smile sweetly and look at him, "I want to kiss you but we are in the public place though,"
"Then let's go in my condo," He kiddingly said.
I roll my eyes but in the end I smile. I'm thankful to have him, he let me drink my favorite drink again for how many year's I haven't drink it. He let me, omyGod he let me. Omy... I really love this man.
James was always sweet on me and when we are in his condo, we always do the thing. Now, I thank Lola Astrid to let me know this love, carrying, gentle, and good man. I will not wish other thing, because of him. I'm contented now to him.
"I love you..." James whisper that make my heart flattered.
His hugging me from back while we are under the blanket both naked. I slowly face him and kiss the side of his lips.
"I love everything on you,"
"Your the most gorgeous woman I've meet, Grace." He said and caress my hair. I smile sweetly and kiss him.
How many times did I give my whole body to James? I don't know because I always did, I can't count it in many times I did, we did. I didn't expect that in just like that I give up my treasure. To the man I've just meet in a months, to an asshole Doctor but to the man I love.
I didn't know since when I fell inlove to him, I just know that I already love him. Even in his dark aura I see his kindness that no one did to me, it just him. He good take care of me when I was sick that from my family no one did.
I remember when I was a kid Mama always sleeping beside me when I get fever, but when I become teens my grandmother scold my mother from doing that, so Mama just checking me if I eat, I drink my medicine. And when I got seek here in London, Lolo checking me but in the end he gonna say 'get well my granddaughter' after saying that he leave me alone in my room.
But James didn't, he stay inside my room. He take care of me. He cook for me, he let what I wanted, he gave me my favorite drink that how many years I didn't taste. He cares for me.
"What are you thinking?" James ask while brushing my hair using his hand.
"You guess," I said and smile.
"It's me," He simply said that make me giggle, he know. "What about me, huh?" He asked.
I smile sweetly and kiss his side lip and cheek, "I'm thankful to have you,"
I saw how James ear turn to red but his face remind calm. I giggled more, he know how to hide his kilig huh. I stop giggling when James kiss me.
"I'm also thankful to have you in my life, my love." He said and kiss my temple before hugging me.
