Chase's POV

Monday, February 21 – Hendrick Motorsports

I could seriously do without this discussion at the shop today.

We know the Daytona 500 sucked. We know why we did not run as well as we would have hoped for. There isn't anything that we can do to fix it for the next time.

So why are we sitting here having this meeting today?

I know Alex hates doing photo shoots – I don't know why because he looks mighty fine doing them – but he got lucky. He doesn't have to hear the bitching and moaning. He doesn't have to hear the useless solutions to what happened. Instead, he can just smile pretty a couple times and the time has passed on by.

I see your man is looking mighty fine today is the text message that I read from Ryan, having become very easily distracted from the meeting at hand. Fuck, there was no sense in paying attention and it wasn't like the others had noticed my distracted behavior. At least someone understood what I was feeling.

He is always looking mighty fine, and especially in white for that matter if you ask me. Whomever at Ally decided white was the in-color for this year deserves a raise because damn, you're going to give me something sexy to look at all season long. It brings out every single damn curve that he has, along with that jaw line I just wish I could run my lips along right now.

You're probably wishing DayChaser would post more images right about now wasn't a lie as Ryan could damn well read my mind at this time. So far, they had posted just a pair of images and from a distance. They were enough to stare and be in love, but you'd think with a photoshoot that we could gain all the sexy angles that we've been craving. It's all about showing those cans in every single light, right?

I may have to tell him to grab a couple cases so we can have some fun tonight was the response because I could definitely use something after the boredom that I was suffering right now. It'd be nice if the crew chiefs could move on to Auto Club Speedway so we could get this meeting done with.

You don't see me complaining because we both knew we'd have a ton of fun together. Drinks, and a circle of friendship – what is wrong with that picture? Heck, clothes are a bonus in that situation.

"Alex texting you to distract you from what's happening?" I hear, causing my head to shoot up instantly from my phone. There was only one person that could be making that comment as I glance over at him. Again, these comments from Kyle were already growing very old real quick. "You better watch or you're going to get caught. It seems you're only ever distracted when he's not here."

"You better watch what you're saying so you don't spoil shit for me," I respond because let's face it, we were in the biggest conference room in the building. Anybody could walk in that door at any moment and overhear what was being said. A lot of the comments, sure we could brush off as nothing. However, if it quacks like a duck it's probably a duck and enough suspicion and boom – everybody will on us. Not that I'm ashamed of what Alex and I have together, but I'd rather just keep it a secret – to the secluded group that knew. I still didn't know whether I liked Kyle being a part of that group.

"You know that I wouldn't do that to you, Chase." I nod my head, knowing there was a decent level of friendship and respect there to know the truth. It was why when it slipped out, I wasn't about to totally deny it fully before him. Anyways, sometimes it helped have to an ally.

"I just don't want to happen by accident."

"What if Kaitlyn says something? She did find Alex at your house one day." I take a deep breath, as that was certainly a thought which had crossed my mind on multiple occasions. She was about to get off on the charges, and now roamed the world with freedom despite being a vindictive bitch. The fact she had a drop of freedom made her a threat as we all know what she's capable of. I was actually surprised she had totally disappeared since, but perhaps she learned her lesson – or found a new toy to amuse herself.

"Nobody would believe her because of the games she's played before," is what I was telling myself repeatedly when the thought entered my mind. It was the only thing keeping me sane. It wasn't like she had seen Alex and I doing anything together to back up any point.

***************************

The long day was finally over, and I was certainly thankful as I made my way into the house. I was actually checked the shop first, expecting Alex to be up to his usual antics of working on racecars. The sprint car needed some love after his busy week.

Instead, though, I found him inside in the kitchen, contemplating dinner ideas. I have to say – he's not that bad of a cook.

"Say, you could share some of those poses that DayChaser made you offer," I comment, leaning back against the door frame as I catch his attention. The smirk on his face said everything as we both knew what we'd be doing later.

"You'd just love for me to give you a good reason to stare at me," he replies to which I couldn't help but smirk in response. If only he knew everything that he made me do.

"I don't need a good reason, babes. I've always got my eye on you." He then makes his way over, our eyes locking together and I could already see where this was going. Dinner, you're going to be a little late tonight, again.

"Well I may have my eyes on desert rather than dinner tonight." That seemed to be par for the course, considering we both couldn't get enough of tasting each other.

"Do you see me running or complaining?" I then lean in, brightly allowing those lips to brush against his jaw line as they had been wanting to do all day long. "The meeting wasn't the same without you. It was actually pretty annoying."

"I'll make sure to tell the PR group to stop scheduling my photoshoots so I can keep you company." I wasn't about to argue with that, as his company was better than anyone else in that room. However, there was an advantage to keep things as they are.

"You can still do the photoshoots – as long as you send me all the photos and angles." Give me a prize for being a good boy during the meeting is all I'm asking.

"Maybe I'll just do a photoshoot of my own for you later..." Fuck, I could already feel myself growing hard at the thought in wondering just what he had up his sleeve.

"There's not a single complaint from me in that regard."
