Hey all.

So as many know, I will not be writing a third book. At least not for a long while.
So there will be two more chapters to this book instead, this one and then one more chapter that will be out within a week.

Also, I'd like to say that if anyone here is personally or even in the slightest being affected by the events in Ukraine, Russia, and those surrounding areas, I am here for you. You are not alone, and if you need to talk, feel free to message me or reply here. ❤️ it'll be okay!!

Anywho, thanks for reading. Please leave comments, vote, share and give a follow for more!!

Enjoy 😊

"Killian." I whisper, my sight blurry as I begin to hyperventilate from the sudden panic.
My chest begins to tighten, my hands becoming clammy and cold.

"Baby, what's wrong?" He asks, getting up from his knee. "Do you not want to marry me?"

"Killian." I repeated,my eyes swelling with tears.
The tears fall from my eyes with such urgency that holding them back for even a second would hurt and surely give me a migraine.

Killian immediately went into panic mode as he pulled me to him, quickly wiping my tears and holding me close. "May I have access to your thoughts?"

Nodding my head yes, I begin to sob uncontrollably.
Killian just pulls me close, resting his chin upon the top of my head.

I feel my mate tense, knowing he's seeing what I just saw.

He takes a step back and looks at me, "the only thing you need to be concerned about is our baby and Jasmine. I'm not going anywhere." He says reassuringly as he places a long kiss on my forehead. "That is a promise."

My bottom lip quivers, "w-what are we g-gonna do?"

"I've already got a plan, and I'm going to meet with your dad to discuss it. But, I need you to be as far from the castle as possible. We have to act fast, if your vision was right, we don't have more than an hour and a half at most." He speaks with a demanding tone.

"Where do I go?" I question him.

"Grab your mom and Jasmine, find Maggie and explain what's going on. She will know where to take you. If she asks for any information in particular, just say 'bluebird' okay?" He asks, getting just a nod in response from me.
He goes to leave but quickly turns around and places a kiss on my lips, "I love you. I'll come get you when this is over. I promise." And with those words, he left.

I stand there in the beautiful greenhouse alone, almost frozen for what felt like years but it couldn't have been more than twenty seconds.
But without another thought, I immediately rush to find my mom, which was surprisingly easy seeing as she was just outside the door.

I saw Killian and my dad walking down the hallway, discussing the plan quietly.

My mom grabs my hand, "it's okay. They're strong. They can handle it. Let's go find Jasmine okay? Help her get comfortable."

Agreeing, we wander the castle and find Jasmine in her wheelchair sitting by a potted plant outside of the door leading to the patio.
I sigh, knowing her time to leave is close, but I don't let that stop me. I rush to her side and look at my mom, "grab Maggie, she might be in the kitchen, meet us in my room." I whisper in an urgent tone.

I look at Jasmine and she slowly looks up at me, "we have to leave." I say without explaining anything, but she didn't fight me on it.
She just sat there with her hands on her lap as I rushed, pushing her to my room where I locked the door behind us.

We waited no longer than two minutes before I heard my mom and Maggie outside the door, I quickly open it before shutting it behind them.

"Whats going on dear? Your mom here just said it was urgent." Maggie says with her soft voice, her brows furrowed with concern and worry.

"Lucifer plans on killing Killian and my dad  tonight during the party. Eros and Addox are behind it, I'm not sure about my brother but he was there too.

She looked more confused, so I said the first thing that I knew would help, "Killian told me to tell you 'bluebird."

Her eyes went wide and she immediately started acting different, "okay girls, I'm going to lead us out of here, and then I'm going to shift. You will need to get on my back so I can take us to the shelter okay?"

Shift? She's not a hound... what could she possibly shift into?

"This isn't a time for questions, just go!" Vixen shouts at me and I agree. We all follow Maggie through the halls and into an old library, she pulls down a book from the shelf and like in the movies, a door opens from the shelf itself.

"In here," Maggie whispers. Leading us through the door of books.

We enter a stone hall with a barge flight of stairs that go down at least four floors. "This leads us to the basement, where we can find an exit door to the back of the castle."

Not wasting any time, I carefully pick up Jasmine and hold her in my arms, rushing down the stairs.
She winces in my arms, "I'm so so sorry Jasmine, I'm trying to get us out of here. I can't leave you behind." I pant, trying to get my words out while running down the stairs.

"You're fine." She groans, "thank you for not leaving me."

"I'd never leave without you." I reassure her.

As soon as we reach the bottom of the stairs, I realize there no where to go, no door, window, nothing.  Just walls of stone with little holes in them, letters beside them.

"There's a door, you just can't see it." Maggie smiles softly, probably trying to calm my nerves.

I watch as Maggie grabs a bunch of metal rods from the floor and begins placing them in the hole of the wall that spell out 'blue bird' and it all started making sense to me.

"Not many people know of this exit, not even Lucifer. Killians mother had this exit built here for her and Killians safety just in case they had to flee. It's been used once but I'm not allowed to speak of that day." Maggie says as the door opens after she placed the last rod into the wall.

We all rushed out the door which opened up to the forest, which might I add is dark and foggy.

"Like promised, I'm going to shift. Get on my back and hold on tight okay?" We all nod in agreement and suddenly our mouths drop in shock as we watch this little old woman, shift into a large bear.

"I was NOT expecting that." Vixen admits in shock.

Me either...

Maggie grunts at us in frustration, shaking her head at us to signal to get on.

My mom gets in first, so I can hand Jasmine to her so that I can get on.
We each hold onto Jasmine with one hand to keep her secure, using our Luther free hand to hold onto Maggie as she bolts off into the forest.

I watch as the trees pass by faster than I can dare to count them. So instead, I watch Jasmine as she breathes slowly. Her eyes just staring up at the sky.
She stays quiet, and I wasn't going to try and pry the words out of her, not now...

I just pray to the moon goddess that we can get her comfortable before she passes. And riding a bear, in the forest, fleeing from danger is not comfortable...

We are deeper in the forest now and I notice crows and vultures circling around above us.

Maggie quickens her pace and runs harder, faster, with more urgency to leave this space.

A vulture dive down tans just as I thought it was going to peck Maggie's eye, she catches it with her sharp teeth and crushes it in her mouth before tossing its lifeless body to the side.

None of the other birds dove down after that but rather flew away.

As Maggie then slows down beside a small hill, she stops completely before nodding her head at the hill.
My mom and I get off carefully, both of us holding Jasmine until I can carry her in both arms again.
Maggie, still in bear form, walks on all fours  to this little hill, more like mound of dirt.

She looks at us before turning back to the mound and she begins digging.

My mom went to help her dig but it was pointless because as soon as she did, Maggie removed the last bit of dirt to reveal a little door.

Maggie pulls the door open with her mouth, my mom following her inside, Jasmine and I following behind.
My mom closes the door behind me and we are enclosed in darkness. That is until a bunch of candles light up like it was a switch that turned them on.
Their small flames flickering through the hut that's hidden underground.

It's small, with a small twin sized bed with a trunk at the end, a table with two chairs, a little kitchen and a door to what I'd assume leads to a bathroom of sorts. And tons of books, so many that there's dozens on the floor beside the small shelf with boomed stacked on top of one another. All covered in a thick layer of dust.

It's definitely dusty, and chilly, but the candles are slowly warming up the hut just enough to not have a layer goosebumps on our skin.

Maggie shifts back into her human form, grabbing hold of an old night gown that was in the trunk on the foot of the bed.  After dressing herself in the nightgown, that was a few sizes too big, she quickly rushed to the bed and removed a few of the blankets before grabbing a new one from the trunk that was free from dust.

"Place her there, she will be more comfortable." She suggests to me.

I walk over to the bed and place Jasmine down. She hardly moves a muscle, but just stares at me with her tired eyes. "You look very pretty in your dress." I smile softly.

"You're glowing." She whispers softly as a tear escapes her eyes.

"Thank you. I just found out today actually." I admit.

"I've known for two weeks." She smirked.

"H-how?" I question, not paying attention to any of the commotion of Maggie and my mom talking in the background, making a small fire in a cauldron to contain it.

"I didn't think I had any magic left in me, but I was wrong. I was able to predict your pregnancy. Your baby girl will be due on May seventh this year." She smiled, panting slightly as she was out of breath.

"May Seventh? That's only four months from now." I say covering my mouth with my hands in shock. "And it's a g-girl?" I cry out, holding my friend close.

I cry into her shoulder, "thank you for this gift, thank you." I cry, holding her close.

I can hear her heart beat slow down as her breathing becomes shallow, "can you tell her that her Aunt Jasmine loves her when she gets here?" She softly asks as more tears fall from her glossy eyes.

"She already knows." I whisper, sitting on the floor, my hand in hers as I wipe her tears, ignoring my own which are falling from my cheeks

"I love you Jazzy." I mutter out, barley even able to speak through my rushed breathing and tears falling into my mouth at this point.

She just looks at me and smiles before taking her left breath, her hand in mine going limp.

I look back at my mom then at Jasmine as I begin to sob uncontrollably.
My mom rushes to my side to comfort me, Maggie taking a spare blanket and covering Jasmines body after closing Jasmines eyes.

My mom rocks me back and fourth on the floor, running her fingers through my hair, humming me lullabies from my childhood to help calm me.
"Why do things like this happen?" I cry out.

My mom just places a kiss on the top of my head, "life may not always seem fair, but it always makes sense in the end."

We stayed like this for only the moon goddess knows how long, until my mom clutches her heart.

"What is it?" I ask, immediately remembering the whole ordeal.

"Your dad, he's hurt. Alive, but hurt." She says quietly, just looking at me.

"How much does it hurt?" I question her.

"A-a lot."
