~Brielle's POV~
-8 weeks later-
-January-
It's been 8 weeks since the transfer. No one, besides Addilynn and Layla, knows that we did the transfer. Today we have to see if the transfer worked.
It was a Wednesday, we don't have shift, but we have to take the kids to daycare before the appointment.
I was the first one awake in our house and went to the bathroom. I thought for a moment, then got a test to take.
I took the test and waited for 3 minutes.
As I was waiting I got super nauseous and threw up.
"I better be pregnant..." I whispered to myself. I heard the timer go off. I flipped the test over and saw what it said.
"Pregnant" is what it said. I looked at it and smiled and started to tear up.
I hid the test and went in the shower. Once I came out, I went upstairs and woke up Alyssa.
"Baby... go get in the shower..." I whispered to her and kissed her.
"Good morning my love..." she rolled over and smiled at me.
"Morning baby.. go get in the shower. I'll get ready and start getting the kids ready." I said.
She nodded her head and went to the bathroom. I had the positive test with me.
I got ready and woke up Skylar and Cameron.
I got them dressed and everything. I went downstairs and got them some fruit and waffles for breakfast.
Alyssa came out of the shower and came over to us in the kitchen.
"Good morning my loves." She smiled at us and gave us each a hug and a kiss.
"Hi Mommy." Both Skylar and Cameron said.
"Hey baby..." I smiled at her and kissed her back.
Alyssa hugged me from behind.
"Can you just make sure they eat? I'm gonna go upstairs and finish getting ready." I told Alyssa.
"Yea of course... did you take a test yet?" She asked me.
"No not yet, I have to finish getting ready, then I will." I said.
"Ok no problem, we still have an hour. Did you eat?" She said.
"No, I'm feeling nauseous. I'll try and eat something before we leave." I told her.
I yawned and leaned and her and hugged her.
"Are you tired?" She chuckled.
I chuckled and nodded. I've been exhausted this past week straight.
I went upstairs and finished getting ready. I had the test in my hand and looked at it and smiled.
I heard Alyssa walking up the stairs.
"My love? You almost ready?" I heard her say, while walking up the stairs. I quickly went into our bed and laid down, with my back to the door and pretended to be asleep.
"My lov-" she said, then I guess she saw me sleeping and stopped.
I had the test in my hand, but I had the blanket over my torso.
I felt her climb in bed behind me and rubbed my back.
"My love... we have to get ready to go to Med." She whispered.
She hand moved down to my waist and I put the test in her hand and rolled over to look at her. She looked at me confused for a second, then she pulled her hand and saw the test.
"You're serious? Baby this is amazing!" She yelled out excitedly.
I smiled and laughed.
"Yes, I'm pregnant again." I smiled at her.
"Oh my god... it worked..." she smiled, putting her hand on my stomach.
We got the kids ready and took them to daycare. Then we headed to Med.
"Hey Maggie. I have a follow up appointment with Dr. Manning." I said.
"Bay 2 and I'll page her in." She told me.
We sat in the room.
"You're pregnant..." Alyssa smiled at me.
"Yea... but... now that means I might have to stop working..." I said.
"We still have to talk to Natalie and see." She told me.
April came in to do some labs to just check my liver and kidney functions, then Natalie came in.
"Hey you guys! Ready to see if the transfer worked?" Natalie said when she came in.
"Well. I already took a test and it was positive. And I really do think I am because I've been super super tired than normal lately." I said.
"Any nausea? Other symptoms? And you've been taking your hormone medication right?" She asked me.
"Yes I've been taking my hormones. And I've been a little nauseous, but nothing major just yet, thankfully. I've only thrown up like...5 times in the last 8 weeks." I laughed.
"Well, let's see for ourselves!" Nat said.
She put the gel on me and looked around.
She smiled.
"Looks like the test was right.. there's a baby." She said.
I looked and Alyssa and smiled.
"It worked... it worked.." I smiled at her.
"Yes it did my love." Alyssa whispered and kissed my forehead.
"Looks like there is one little baby. You are exactly 8 weeks today and it looks like you're due towards the end of September!" Nat said.
"What does this mean work wise?" I asked.
"Ok so... based on your lab results. Everything seems good. Have you been keeping your stress and anxiety better?" She asked me.
"Yea she has." Alyssa smiled at me.
"That's really great to hear... so I do think that you could work on truck until you are 12 weeks. Then once you are 12 weeks, you need to come back here and we recheck everything, and from then, we can discuss further." Natalie said.
"Sounds good." I said.
We left Med super excited.
"I'm pregnant again..." I whispered to Alyssa.
"Yes you are..." she smiled at me and gave me a kiss.
"When should we tell the firehouse and our parents?" I asked.
"Maybe... when we know what you're gonna do after 12 weeks. So we have a month." Alyssa said.
"Yea.. I just hope it's not hard to hide. The first pregnancy was hard to hide a little. The twins wasn't because everyone already knew... but no one really knows this time." I said.
"Well.. how about we tell Layla and Addilynn only? Just so someone knows." Alyssa said.
"Yea... that would be good." I said.
I called Addilynn
Addilynn: hello?
Brielle: hey, you busy?
Addilynn: no, just at home with Layla, why?
Brielle: can Alyssa and I come over for a bit?
Addilynn: yea sure, is something wrong?
Brielle: we'll see you soon.
I left it like that.
"You probably freaked her out, now they probably think something's wrong." Alyssa laughed.
"Look, let's go to target, get a little onesie to surprise them, and use a sonogram photo." I said, holding up the photos we got.
We went to target and went to the baby section.
"What do you think the gender will be?" I asked Alyssa.
"I don't know... maybe... a girl?" She asked.
"Can you imagine another little girl? Poor Cam will be so lonely." I laughed.
"I just have a feeling." Alyssa laughed.
"I don't know.... Maybe a boy?" I asked.
We picked out a little onesie.
And planned to have a sonogram photo with it.
"This is so perfect." Alyssa smiled.
"Yea it is." I said.
We also got a little box that we put a baby blanket, the onesie, and a sonogram photo in there.
We left target and drove to Addilynn and Layla's apartment.
Once we got there, Addilynn opened the door and looked worried.
"Ok.. what's going on? Is something wrong?" Addilynn asked us.
"No, nothing's wrong." Alyssa laughed.
"I'm gonna murder you both!" Addilynn said, frustrated.
"Ok, ok we're sorry Adds." I laughed and hugged her.
"You guys really spooked her. She just spent the past 15 minutes freaking out." Layla said.
"We're sorry, but you two, go sit on the couch." Alyssa and I said.
They were confused, but went over. Alyssa had the box, but they didn't see it.
They both sat on the couch, and we gave them the box. They looked at us confused.
"Open it." I said.
They opened it and immediately knew.
"Oh my god! You're pregnant?!" Addilynn yelled out.
"Yes!" I laughed.
She ran to me and hugged me.
"I'm so happy for you." She said.
"That's amazing. Congrats you two!" Layla said.
"Thanks, but you guys are the only ones who know. We aren't telling anyone for now." we said.
"We're the only ones? When are you telling everyone else?" Layla asked.
"Don't know. Maybe when I'm 12 weeks, but we don't really know... but we will have to tell our parents soon, but we're unsure." I said.
"I thought you had to stop working? You're still working right now?" Addilynn asked.
"Yes I am. At the 12 week appointment, we have to discuss with Nat what I'm gonna do and see how my body is taking the pregnancy." I explained.
"How are you feeling now? How far along are you?" Layla asked.
"I'm 8 weeks right now. And I've really just been exhausted lately and a bit nauseous." I said.
"It's just one right?" Addilynn laughed.
"Yes it's just one." Alyssa laughed.
"This is great you guys." Layla smiled.
"Thanks." We said.
"Are you gonna tell Skylar and Cameron?" Addilynn asked.
"I don't know... I don't think we will until we tell everyone else. Cause we don't want them telling everyone else." Alyssa laughed.
"Yea." I laughed.
We left their apartment after about an hour and Alyssa and I went back home.
"Are you hoping to keep working this pregnancy? I know with the twins you kinda just stopped once you were like.. 15 weeks I think." Alyssa asked.
"Not sure, we just have to see. I don't know how my body will be in a few weeks." I said.
"Yea you're right. You feel anything that you know you shouldn't feel, tell me. I don't want you to be like 'oh it doesn't hurt that bad, it's probably nothing.' No, if you feel anything that you know shouldn't be happening, or even just a little worried, tell me and I can check you, or we'll go to Med. I'm not gonna risk loosing you again or something else happening to you." Alyssa told me.
"Ok baby. I promise if I feel anything, I'll tell you." I smiled and her and gave her a kiss.
"Let's go get the kids." She laughed.
