The hectic sound of your alarm woke you up.
You stretched your arm out to turn it off and yawned in the process.
You groaned, getting your hair out of your face. "I really don't want to go to work today."
You rolled your eyes and got out of bed, heading into your bathroom to take a refreshing shower, cleansing all the sleepliness off of you.
Once you were done with that, you got dressed in a comfortable outfit and headed out for work.
You wiggled the keys out of the door to your coffee shop, closing it again once you got inside and made sure the "closed" side of the sign was being showcased outside.
You grabbed a light pastry from one of your glass displays as well as a drink. You sat down next to one of the many windows of your shop enjoying the view while eating.
The view's nice, so is the food, and i look pretty good if i do say so myself.
So why do i feel kind of... bored? Discontent? You thought to yourself as you suddenly spotted a couple walking down the street hand in hand, giggling to themselves. As much as you wanted to gag, there was no kidding they were a cute and clearly healthy couple.
You rolled your eyes and set your gaze back on your food. Whatever, jealousy's overrated anyways.
You sighed and got up from your seat.
Time to open up shop.
Half an hour later
You had finally finished cleaning up briefly before you got any customers.
Ding
You turned around as you heard the door's bell ring.
Sam, Lumine and Ganyu had arrived all at the same time.
"Hey Y/N!" they all exclaimed.
"Hey girls. How come you're all grouped up right now?" You continued wiping the table.
"We found eachother on our way."
"Wait.. how come that's never happened before then?" Lumine raised an eyebrow.
"I'm always early, you're always late and Ganyu's always just at the right time." Sam explains.
"I can attest to that." You raised your hand.
"Yeah, yeah whatever. Just tell us the thing!" The blonde pulled on the hijabis arm.
"Ok, ok! I will! Just let me sit down..."
"What happened?" You put a hand on your hip and let the other rest on the table you had just finished cleaning.
"I'm gonna tell them about what happened yesterday!" Sam said. "Ok, sit down children." She joked.
Both Lumine and Ganyu sat down.
And so, Sam filled them in on all of the details.
"And then, when he was about to leave, the guy and Y/N had a moment i tell you!"
"Was he handsome?" Lumine asked. "Our beautiful Y/N deserves a handsome man."
"You guys are spouting nonsense." You rolled your eyes.
"He was super handsome! I could've sworn I'd seen him on Vogue or something."
"That handsome?" Ganyu added.
"Why don't you ask Y/N?" Sam said.
And everyone turned to you.
You stared back at them, not knowing what to say.
"Well...?" Ganyu muttered.
"He was... yeah he was pretty handsome." You looked away, your cheeks flushing as you recalled his features. "He had really pretty red eyes and hair... he was really tall and I think he had a bit of muscle to him too and-" you stopped yourself as you realized the three girls were giving knowing glances to each other.
"Wow... you weren't kidding Sammy. Someone really has a crush!" Lumine giggled with Sam.
"Whatever. Get to work." You shouted.
They laughed but left to go get their aprons. Ganyu stayed behind to talk to you. "What's wrong?" You asked her.
"You know i wouldn't judge you right..." she started.
"Ganyu, i don't have a crush on that man. Period."
"Ok ok, it's just that I've never seen you describe anyone like that." She smiled.
"Why is it such a big deal anyway?"
"Because none of us have ever witnessed you in love."
Before you could muster up a snorky retort, the blue haired girl had already left.
The only thing left were you and your thoughts. She was right, you hadn't been in love in almost 8 years now.
Your work day was over and you were currently sitting on the bench of your bus stop. You looked around, enjoying the rural scenery.
When suddenly, the library came into view.
You thought about the man you had met yesterday for a brief second.
Should I? No.
No, that's too... weird. I don't want to come off as clingy.
Update:
You were now entering the library.
Why did I come here again?
You sighed to yourself.
Whatever, might as well look for him. I'll thank him again for yesterday.
You looked around the library, searching for him, as subtly as you could.
Which clearly wasn't subtle enough.
"Can I help the beautiful but lost lady?" You heard a deep familiar voice behind you.
You quickly turned around.
"Zhongli?"
"Y/N. I thought you said you came here often, but you appear to be lost." He smiled at you.
"No, I was looking for you." The words came flying out of your mouth.
His eyes widened and his cheeks tinted pink for a split second before they went back to normal. "Well, I'm here. Did you need something? I'm afraid I have to warn you, despite how beautiful you are, I unfortunately can not give you a discount." The brunette grinned.
"Oh, no that'll be fine. Thanks." You blushed.
"I'm simply stating the obvious." He leaned in a bit closer to you.
You cleared your throat. "I was around and just wanted to drop off and say hello and thank you again for yesterday. I really appreciate it."
"It was my pleasure." He kept his Amber eyes fixed onto yours. "Would you like to go out some-"
"Zhongli." Another male voice called him.
Zhongli closed his eyes and sighed, a bit defeated and turned around. "Yes?"
"We just got a bunch of new boxes we have to open."
"Alright."
"Who's the pretty lady?" The blonde blue eyed man asked.
Since when were librarians so flirty... and hot?
"Y/N, this is Albedo. Albedo, Y/N."
"Pleasure meeting you." He held out his hand for you to shake, which you did. "I'm guessing you're his new girlfriend he has yet to tell me about?"
"Oh no that's not-"
"I don't need to tell you what's going on in my personal life." The brunette chuckled.
"Yeah, but we're still friends. I'm hurt you know." Albedo said sarcastically as he kept a straight poker face.
You cleared your throat. They both turned to you and gave you apologizing looks. You smiled. "I'm not his girlfriend. We met yesterday at the bus stop." You turned to Albedo. "And it's a pleasure to meet you too."
"Albedo, why don't you start with those boxes and I'll join you later okay?"
"You owe me then." his friend answered.
"Oh no it's fine. I was on my way out anyway." You said as you backed up, walking backwards.
"I'll see you out then." Zhongli said.
Before you could even muster up a reply, you felt something hard hit your back.
"Forgive me." The man said.
You looked up at him. It was the handsome red-haired man from yesterday. Your face flushed and you got off of him and turned around to properly face him. "I'm so sorry I should've seen where I was going." Your cheeks stayed rosy.
His ears quickly matched your face as he recognized you. "Oh. You're the coffee shop owner from yesterday right?"
"Yes, and you're the... dressed in all black man?"
"Yeah... that's me." He looked away, embarrassed. "Zhongli?" He noticed his friend. "You know this woman?" He asked, acting like he hadn't seen them together in the bus yesterday.
"Yes, I met her yesterday. Y/N, I take it you know this man?"
"I guess you could say that. He didn't get the chance to introduce himself."
"I'm Di-" he started but quickly stopped himself. He couldn't just reveal his identity to a stranger. Not when he was the owner of an international billionaire company and part-time model. "My name is Dawn."
"Nice to meet you then. What brings you here if you don't mind me asking?"
"I just needed a break from work. I like books." He said and immediately regretted it, thinking he might've overstated.
"Really? I do too. Hard to find people who like books these days isn't it?"
He suddenly felt better as he realized he was just overthinking. "Yes."
"Okay well, Zhongli, Dawn, you guys are welcome to visit my cafe anytime. I'll serve you on the house."
"I'll be sure to keep that in mind." Zhongli grinned.
You nodded. "Oh and Dawn,"
"Hm?" He slightly jumped as he realized he was supposed to respond to his new name.
"Make sure you come before closing hours." You waved and shot everyone one last smile.
