Thirsty. I am so thirsty!

The familiar masculine voice repeated in my mind.

'Find me little Souleste.' It echoed before the world seemed to rush past me as I gasped and abruptly jumped up from the bed with my hand gently cradling my scratchy, dry and thirst driven throat.

"Not again," I groggily complained as I let my hand fall back onto the bed with a sigh before begrudgingly throwing my legs to the other side of the bed, allowing my feet to collide with the cold tiled floor. The coldness crawling up my hot and sweaty body, cooling it down some and allowing me to release a soft sigh in relief as I pushed myself up from the bed while continuing to enjoy the coldness of the tiles against my bare feet.

This is how every morning has been since my parents dropped me off here. I'm starting to think I might be getting a fever, because waking up as thirsty and hot as I have been these past couple of days is not normal. It needs attention. What I don't know though is how to get rid of these weird, occurring dreams I always get a few minutes before waking up every morning for the past three days. I don't even know the voice in my mind that's always saying its thirty just to wake up to find myself extremely thirsty and the confusing part is, the thirst does not ease after I drink water, instead, it remains the same before disappearing into a scratchy feeling that lasts for the rest of the day.

I told my parents about this and they recommended I go to a doctor to get some meds because I forgot some at home. To think that today is my 18th birthday, what a great day to start my day, right? I'll be seeing a doctor on my birthday instead of enjoying breakfast with my parents. Truly a happy day? I wonder what's next.

I gingerly opened my closet doors while trying to ignore the painful feeling in my throat as I pulled out a pair of navy blue skinny jeans, a white short sleeve vest and my already ironed, blue checkered button down, flowy shirt, my white matching underwear and my white Tommies. I grabbed my shower cap while at it before slipping my feet into my morning slippers and all but dragging myself towards my joined bathroom.

My bathroom was a very quaint room with a simple, white toilet, small shower and small basin. It was the standard bathroom for a student, I'd say.

I swiftly closed the door behind me and locked it before dropping my clean clothes on the toilet seat and stripping out of my pajamas that I neatly folded and placed in the dry basin. There wasn't enough space in the room to place them anywhere else to my dismay.

I begrudgingly got into the shower and turned on the cold water that immediately had my body recoiling and shivering as it gave my body the shock of its life and woke it up from its sluggishness and possible stupor.

I almost barely slept this morning considering that my parents called me at 12 o'clock at midnight to wish me a happy birthday, but that call lasted for a whole two hours longer than expected until they decided to turn in because of work later on in the morning, but I really enjoyed the call even as it made me sad and nostalgic at the thought of not spending my birthday with them for the very first time in my life, but I knew I had no choice because they were busy with work and couldn't afford to come and get me for the day especially considering how far away from home I currently am.

A huff left my lips as my eyes burnt with tears of sadness from missing my parents as much as I do after three days without them. I really wish I could be with them on this special day, but I can't and I have to accept it. A soft sigh left my lips as I broke through my train of thought and hastily grabbed my dry wash cloth, forgetting all about my shower cap as I proceeded in bathing myself until I was sure I had gotten rid of any ounce of bacteria and sweat I had collected throughout the night.

My body felt warm, fresh and relaxed by the time I was opening my shower doors and jumping out into the small, warm and steamy bathroom. I carefully grabbed my body lotion and started the tedious task of squirting some onto my hands before running it through my skin until every nook of my body was soft and moist from my aloe vera scented moisturiser. I then applied some deodorant before pulling on my underwear and clothes and spritzing some hair food on my braided straight back hair.

I lazily grabbed my toothbrush and started the task of brushing my teeth even as the irritating dryness in my throat threatened to make me scream in irritation. I wish water was the solution for the situation, but unfortunately, it isn't this time. I really need professional help, but for now...let's try some medicine and see if it works and if it doesn't, I'm running to a hospital. Period.

And seeing as I was finally done with my morning rituals, I grabbed my nightwear and hung my wet wash towels on the shower to dry alongside my underwear before leaving the steamy bathroom that had left me almost as sweaty as when I had gotten in it.

I dropped my clothes on my chair and started the quick task of fixing my bed, where I neatly placed my nightwear and fluffy, big teddy bear, Mocha. Yes, I named my teddy after coffee, only because I love it and love her that much.

To ensure that I wouldn't come back to a dark and stuffy room, I leaned towards the window and pulled the window drape up to let some much needed light into the room, instantly turning the dark and cold room into a more livable room with some personality. I opened the windows a bit to allow some fresh air in before locking it into place so that even if a gust of wind would occur, it wouldn't smash and break because God knows I wouldn't have the money to pay for the damages.

I then grabbed my purse from my bag and checked for my cards and money before putting it back in along with my cellphone and grabbing my keys and lock. I couldn't help myself as I threw my key in the air before letting it fall into my palm with a slight stinging sensation from the impact but I still repeated the action as I slinged my bag over my shoulder and made my way over to my door to slip out of the room, making sure to secure the lock behind me as I stepped into the sunlit, quiet and quaint living room that gave a clear view of the small kitchen and main door.

The silence was almost deafening as my feet echoed in the silent living room. My roommates had spoken about a block party in the city over so they left late last night, only saying that one of them had a friend that side who would house them for the evening and today so I've been home alone since and to be honest, it's quite lonely. I wouldn't say that I had grown close to them in the short span of time, but I have grown a bit used to their chatter and warm and enthusiastic greetings these past few days, but at the same time I really appreciate that they respect my personal space. They are really nice people thus far and I hope they stay that wayfor the remainder of the year.

I made sure that the unit door was locked before I started the long jog down from where I was on the 2nd floor all the way to the ground floor and by the time I got there, lets just say I knew just how perfectly unfit I was.

I pressed my pointer finger against the biometric scanner which earned me a quiet 'ting' as the glass revolving doors unlocked so I could walk towards the other side, where the front desk office stood to my right, buzzing with students and parents as they tried to get their children accepted here for accommodation.

With a low sigh, I turned to my left and headed towards the open glass doors, passing the bored security guard on my way as I stepped out of the cold building and into the bright and surprisingly quiet and serene outdoors where a few students loitered either unloading their luggages from their parents' cars or talking with other students, but unlike them, I started my stroll across the road as I headed towards the shopping center that must have been about 15 minutes away from the residence.

The warm sun kissing my skin and the cool breeze brushing passed me entertaining me as I walked towards the familiar building until I reached the familiar alley that led towards the underground parking where I would enter, but instead of finding parked trucks as every other time, the place was devoid of life except for an unconscious body in the distance near the entrance of the parking lot. As I neared, a sudden urge to walk towards the body overcame me, but it made no sense so I continued my walk until I passed the unconscious body that I could identify as a man's as he laid unconscious with his upper body pressed against the wall and his head looking down so that the only thing visible were his short, blond locks, clean and overly neat white shirt, black skinny jeans and black snickers. He looked to clean to be a beggar, he must have passed out from alcohol. How typical if you ask me, but who am I to judge.

The sudden urge to help him spiked up inside of me but I ignored it and forced myself to move onwards, passing the passed out figure of the man.

'Thirsty! I am thirty!' The familiar voice from my dreams all but growled in my head with vengeance that shook my brain with pain that I could only ever associate with a headache, but tripled. A wince involuntarily left my lips as I paused in my steps to cradle my head, just to have the pain disappear without a trace.

"Thirsty..."A weak voice from behind me sounded, only making me perk up in fear as my heart dropped to the pits of my stomach even as I took a chance to take a peek at the man that seemed to be awakening, but something told me that I I didn't want to be near him when he was fully conscious, which was contradictory considering that my heart and body wanted me to stay, but I listened to the more rational part of me and hastily started shuffling away until I was far away from him, but his voice as weak as it was sounded familiar.

Like I'd heard it before today, but yet, I've never met nor seen him before.
