There was something so incredibly enchanting about the song.

His singing voice was soft to the ear, perhaps as soft as petals from a plum blossom, and as pretty as one, too.

It was as if a honeycomb took the form of a beatific voice, smooth and so sweet.

Jungkook's singing was akin to his warmhearted persona — standing benign, any person who gave his voice a listen would be bewitched, trapped within a trance that his balletic voice created.

It was a trance that was comparable to the seventh heaven, never wanting the song to stop, replaying it before it hit its end mark. Before his voice faded away — grasping on to it, and pulling it towards you, again and again.

All to maintain in this gratifying fluffy cloud his voice formed.

His words were constructed in utter particular and convoluted detail, this much was translucent.

Devora gave the song her absorbed concentration, completely forgetting to keep watch on the door behind her. Only concentrated on the cooing voice, falling to it, along with his pleasant lyrics.

He was speaking about their relationship, how much he yearned for Devora and longed for the day they would see one another.

See one another without the regretful and cruel feelings, to be able to see each other like how they normally did before the debacle occurred, the one that tore apart their relationship.

Devora's fallen tears went unrecognized until she felt them stroll toward her chin, aiming to fall on her lap.

The song didn't feel like four minutes, it felt shorter. She wanted more of it, careless if it seemed acquisitive.

However, she couldn't help but feel so immoral. This song he created had his bare emotions, his voice that he never showed anyone.

The voice that only he gave a listen to, evaluating it himself with no other person there to construct an opinion to that.

Once the music entirely stopped, Devora stayed put for a moment, her incisive and logical thoughts telling her to exit the tab, and put everything to rest.

This song and the lyrics pointed her mind in a direction that she, truthfully, never wanted to acknowledge.

She still loved him. Very much.

She always had, but her sore emotions appointed this brume in her mind that caused her to go blind for a prolonged period.

Devora sighed, her left hand coursing through her hair, trying to console her impulsive crying session.

Then, there was the sound of a door opening.

She had never moved quicker, whipping her head over her shoulder to see if Jungkook was standing by the door.

But, he wasn't there.

Then, the door closed, and the bathroom fan turned on.

Devora released a profound huff of relief, averting her attention back to the computer, realizing that it was about four fifty-five in the morning.

She had beat the clock, just barely.

Quickly, she closed the tab and finally shut the computer off, as how she was supposed to do in the first place.

Devore pushed the chair in, making sure the notes were placed exactly where she found them, and tiptoed her way to the door, shutting the lights off.

She hopped into bed, throwing the blanket over her body, readjusting herself countless times until she was in a sleeping position that seemed realistic.

Her head faced the dresser, eyes glued shut as she tried her best to listen to the movements and noises Jungkook created in the bathroom.

It went silent for a minute, which allowed her heart to rest, along with her heavy breathing that ebbed with time.

Then, without any warning, the door creaked open, squeaking loudly from the slow movements Jungkook made.

She relaxed her eyelids.

Having them squeezed shut would give her fake sleep away.

It went silent again, and she wondered if he was still in there.

She heard him groan like he was giving up a good stretch.

Imperceptibly, her shoulders stiffened.

Jungkook walked over to his dresser, opening and closing the drawers as he grabbed his essentials for a workout.

Again it went silent.

'Did he leave?' Devora asked herself, confounded on why he would grow silent periodically.

Without any second thought to hold her back, she slowly peeked her left eye open.

Immediately, she felt a spark fly down her spine, shivering with regret as she met eyes with his naked upper half.

He was in the process of pulling his shirt off, his sweats were barely on, clinging to his lower half, exposing the waistband of the briefs he wore.

The brawny muscles on his abdomen contracted, flexing effortlessly from the slight movement he did.

Devora wasn't one to drool over half-naked men, but she had to admit, Jungkook's body was sculpted so flawlessly.

It was evident his morning workouts were working, whatever he did.

Her eyes shut when his shirt fully pulled over his head.

The drawer opened again, Devora peeking her eyes open, seeing his stern back that was facing her.

He must have been looking for a shirt.

He clicked his head side to side, stretching his muscles out, with his shoulder rotating in a circular motion — his body sore.

His search for a shirt concluded when he pulled out a dri-fit long sleeve, throwing it over his head.

Devora watched his hands begin to pull his sweats down, and that's when she closed her eyes.

This time not daring to take a peek at him.

She heard the closet doors open as Jungkook searched for a sweatshirt to wear for his early morning run.

Normally, he did thirty minutes of running in the morning, just something to get his heart beating.

The sun would be up by the time he finished.

He thought about waking her to tell her he would be leaving, but when he took a good look at her, she looked entirely serene.

He hummed in thought as he put on deodorant, staring at Devora's comfortable body under the covers.

He shook his head, setting the deodorant down and deciding it was best to let her sleep.

Jungkook assumed she knew about his morning workouts, they were a daily part of his routine, even when they were together.

He released a heavy sigh, walking over to the door and carefully shutting it.

Devora did the same, breathing out heavily when she heard the door close, opening her eyes to see the room was finally empty.

She heard his house keys chime, the front door shutting as he locked the entrance from outside.

Devora sat up in bed, looking over at the window and seeing that light was picking up in the sky.

It explained why she was able to see him and his muscles in the chiseled attributes that they were typically in.

She got off the bed, arranging the pillows in the format Jungkook set them in before, folding the fleece blanket she used to sleep with.

She pulled on the comforter, making sure it was tightly under the mattress, and the folds she made during the night were gone.

Devora might have had a sudden change of heart, prepping herself in the bathroom, before strolling her way into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for her, and Jungkook.

Usually, she would make eggs and leftover rice for breakfast, along with any other random ingredients she could find in her fridge.

If she could remember clearly, Jungkook would eat anything for breakfast, so long as he could implement a little bit of protein in there.

Devora set her phone down on the counter near the blender, eyebrows creased as she tried recalling the ingredients he would put in his protein shake.

She remembered he explained to her what exactly he would put inside of it.

Her head turned to the right, where the dinner table remained, along with the front windows of the apartment. She looked the other way, where the kitchen remained.

"Alright, well let's just look for his protein powder." Mumbled Devora, proceeding towards the cabinets.

She opened one of the long white vertical cupboards, eyes scanning the pantry before arriving at the bottom shelf, where the large bucket of protein powder remained.

Devora placed it on the island in the middle of the kitchen with the sink.

She was set on making gilgeori toast, grabbing the eggs and veggies from inside Jungkook's tidied and spotless fridge.

She hummed, realizing how quiet it was.

Devora grabbed her phone, scrolling through her playlists, trying to find a genre that she was in the mood for or a song she would enjoy while chopping up and whisking her ingredients together.

"Saturday love by Cherrelle?" Devora chimed, clicking on the song. "Yeah, let's do that."

It would take Jungkook about forty minutes to finish his run, so by the time he got back, everything would be freshly made.

Though the music would silently distract her, stopping her chopping to acknowledge all the enjoyable pop and R&B music her playlist had.

Her left heel tapped to the beat, whisking the eggs and veggies with a pair of chopsticks she found in the drawer, hovering it over the heated pan, and dropping the mixture in.

She split the egg in two, placing them on two plates to toast the bread on the same pan.

As soon as the food was done, she moved to make his protein shake.

She settled on making his shake the regular way, adding almond milk to the scoops of chocolate powder to a shaker cup.

The stainless steel ball rattled against the plastic cup as she shook the two ingredients together, raising the cup to look at the bottom, making sure all the powder was integrated well.

She indulged in her food while shaking the bottle, noting what a good job she did on the food.

She just hoped Jungkook would like it as well. He wasn't a very picky eater, so it appeared.

The run Jungkook had taken around his neighborhood seemed to last only ten minutes in her eyes, already hearing the voices of two people chatting, causing her to pause the music on her phone, trying to get a good listen to who was outside the hallway.

She peeked over the window that was beside the front door.

It was Jungkook.

Already finished and back home from his run.

Her dark brown eyes went soft when she saw his enchanting grin, chuckling along with the woman beside him.

Then, her smile slightly dissipated. 'Wait... what?' She did a double-take, blinking once when she saw the woman he was talking to.

Jungkook talking to other women didn't disturb her, but, it was the way she was holding onto him that pushed her the wrong way.

Her fingers squeezed against his bicep, shamelessly feeling on his muscles.

The sweaty Jungkook simply laughed, gently removing his arm from her hold while shaking his head.

"Jeez... I mean has she ever heard of personal space?" Devora mumbled, a green hue of acrimonious jealousy and repugnance encircling the glare in her eyes.

It was plausible that she should have input more elaborate consideration into her next actions, but it was already too late when her head was poked through the front door.

"Hey, you're back in time, breakfast is ready." Her lips curved into a pleased smile, glancing only at Jungkook.

His attention moved from his neighbor, and onto Devora.

There was a look of shock in his eyes, not at all expecting her to be up, let alone make him breakfast.

"Oh, thank you!" He gave her an authentic grin nonetheless. "Dev, this is Kiara, my neighbor. Kiara, this is Devora."

Kiara was rather eccentric, enthusiastic to meet the woman Jungkook has been seeing.

Devora just waved, already embarrassed with herself.

"It's nice to meet you, Devora!" She bowed at a slight angle. "Wow, you're just as gorgeous as Jeon describes you to be."

Devora's eyes flickered to Jungkook, his cheeks blushing a burning red.

"Thanks so much, and it's nice to meet you too." She agreed.

Kiara turned over to Jungkook, pointing like she was in a train of thought. "Oh, and before I forget, Kayla wants to know if she could bring over cake today?"

Jungkook's eyes lit up with excitement, his chagrin now diminished. "Oh, that would be great! I really miss her baking."

Kiara giggled, patting his shoulder. "Isn't he just the sweetest?" She looked over at Devora with a sunny expression engraved on her features.

Devora chuckled. "A real toothache."

Devora couldn't help but notice how ebullient Kiara was, especially for it being six in the morning, when the sun was almost barely in the sheltered blue sky.

She felt her chest ache with rue, guilty that she ever depicted her to be a tempestuous person.

Kiara wasn't flirting with Jungkook, it was just the person she was.

"Well, I'll see you later. Thanks again for helping fix my parent's generator, and nice meeting you, Devora." The chatty Kiara voiced her goodbyes, walking down the left path to head to her apartment.

Devora hummed in a pleased tone, opening the door wider for Jungkook.

She watched him walk past her. "Sweet girl." She shut the door, locking it.

Jungkook snickered. "Really?"

Devora grabbed the protein shake she made for him. "What do you mean really?"

He placed his hand on the kitchen island, leaning his body on it. "You didn't just walk outside to say you made me breakfast, that could have waited."

She quickly caught on to his imploring behavior. "You're lucky I didn't eat your sandwich, because trust me," she handed him his shake. "I would've."

Jungkook looked down at her offering hand with perspicacity written on his face. "Hm? Is that for me?"

Devora nodded. "Yeah, and the sandwich over here is for you, too."

He took the drink, gratitude laced in his pretty eyes. "You're the real toothache in here." Opening the latch and taking a small sip.

She pressed her lips in a flat smile, walking past Jungkook to put the used dishes in the sink.

She turned the water on, rinsing the messy pan.

"Hey, no, I'll clean up, okay?" Jungkook advised, putting his shake down. "But, stop trying to change the subject."

He was damn near sure Devora wasn't there to inform him about breakfast.

If she didn't love him or have no flourishing feelings for him, she wouldn't be jealous.

So, that meant something.

It sparked up a bit of excitement in Jungkook.

Devora paid no attention to the nosy photographer, already soaking up in her own fluster like a soggy sponge.

"I'm not trying to change the subject." She muttered.

Suddenly, a hand from behind her shut the water off.

She grumbled, setting the pan down in the sink. "Jungkook-"

"I said I'll wash the dishes babe, don't worry about doing that."

He was now leaning alongside her, head angled as he tried to catch her fleeting eyes.

Her foot tapped against the floor, trying to shake off the embarrassment he was causing her.

"Your- your sandwich is gonna get cold." She mentioned, glancing over at the lonesome uneaten food on the table.

"Just- " He disregarded her sandwich subject. "Why did you go out there? Because you were jealous?"

"Well, that's a normal human emotion, if you didn't know."

He propped himself off the neat counter, now standing at least six inches above her. "Why on earth are you jealous if we're not even together?"

Devora was caught at a stump.

He was right. They weren't together, yet she still felt the essence of putrid envy surge through her veins.

"It's the same reason why you stopped that group of guys from bombarding me." She backed up from his towering height. "Now, since you said you'd wash the dishes, I'll leave you to it. I have to shower anyway, I'm gonna go see my family today."

He remained quiet, watching her walk toward his room.

Jungkook looked over at his sandwich, his stomach bellowing for nutritions to be put into his system.

"Oh," Devora stopped her pace, calling for him. "And, please eat your sandwich, drink your shake too."

Jungkook grinned at her caring remarks. "Yes ma'am."
