Tomorrow is the day, lord I pray everything goes well and that non of Kane or my brothers enemies show up unannounced. I just want the day to go by perfectly. I was still in my pajamas sitting on the couch and watching Netflix when the doorbell rang. I walked over to the door and opened it. At the door, there stood my mother, grandmother and a beautiful old Korean lady who looked around abuela's age.
Omg this must be Kane's grandmother, I'm in my pajamas. Lord why did they have to come unexpectedly. The first time my in- law sees me, I'm standing at the door in white silk pajamas and fluffy socks with messy hair.
"Ciao pesca, are you not gonna let us in?" my mother said. I got out of my daze and welcomed them into the penthouse.
"Please come in", Omg.
"Thank you", my grandmother said. I closed the door and guided them to the living area.
"Mani, I want to introduce you to me best friend, Kane's grandmother, Mrs. Kim", best friend, what is abuela talking about?
"I've heard so much about you love, I've been waiting for this day for a long time?" What the fuck is going on.
"I see you look confused, have a seat so mama and auntie Kim can fill you in", auntie Kim. We sat down and my mother went to go get drinks from the kitchen.
"No mama let me do it", I insisted but she refused.
"You're a very beautiful young lady Imani, I'm glad Him-Chan will marry you. He speaks of you a lot you know", hearing that from Kane's grandmother made my heart warm up.
"Thank you, I am also happy to be marrying your grandson. He's amazing", I responded.
"Mama explain to her how you and auntie Kim are bestfriends", my mother said, placing the drinks in the middle of the table.
"Ahh, our story goes way back", abuela says.
"Back when we were still enemies", Mrs. Kim says.
"You were enemies?" I was so confused.
"Yes, we were enemies and we've been fighting each other for years. See your family and my family were all after one thing, the position to be the most powerful mafia family in the world", Mrs. Kim says.
"But we were always tied. Until one day our fathers, your great grandfather, made an agreement with the Kim family that we would share the position until their great grand children would begin to fight again", abuela finished off.
"After that, the two of us became very close friends and we wanted our grand children to marry each other instead of fighting each other. But I unfortunately only got one grandson and your brothers are not gay", Mrs. Kim said, making me burst into laughter.
"So, we hoped that Khalani would marry Kane, your sister had no interest in the man, she didn't even want to get involved in the family business".
"We had no hope because we thought she was Alika's only daughter. But when we found out you were alive and came back home." Mrs. Kim said.
"We were so excited, we wanted you to marry Kane. Even though you didn't know us, we knew everything about you", abuela added.
"And Kane tells me about you almost all the time, I even know how the two of you met", Mrs. Kim finished the sentence.
"You two must really be bestfriends, you finish each others sentences", mama said.
"Wow, this is crazy. So abuela you knew Kane all this time?" I asked.
"Yes and she also knew", abuela said, indicating that she's talking about Mrs. Kim.
"Those are cute pajamas by the way", Mrs. Kim said, with a smirk on her face.
"Omg, I totally forgot about those", I said in embarrassment.
"Its ok love, call me halmeoni or abuela".
"Al-ass-eo halmeoni". After that exotic topic, we spoke for hours about tomorrow and some old family moments that they shared together and may I add the women are complete badass.
