Carlisle's P.O.V
We were on our way home with Emily.She seems sweet, but sensitive to the Voltui subject. Once I tell her my story she'll probably be very unhappy. Esme trusts her. But there is something about Emily. She seems lost, like maybe looking for a home.Maybe she would like to stay with us. Hopefully. She seems young. I hope I can learn more about her. Well she did promise us. Esme seems happy. Ever since our son Edward left she's been down.I miss him dearly. He needs to find himself, I suppose its my fault,but I do not regret saving him. Emily did keep up with us, but it seemed like she was slowing down for us. Like she was holding back.I wonder what her diet is? By the looks of it, it seems like she can't hurt anyone.But looks can be deceiving. I looked towards my wife,and noticed a small smile upon her lips. Was this because of Emily? Esme started to slow down since we noticed we were home. Next to us Emily slowed down too. As soon as we broke free from the woods, we came across our home. Esme and I heard a small gasp. We turned to Emily.
"Welcome to our home Emily!" I said. I gave her a small smile.Sadness crossed her face.
"Home" She mumbled. She sounded as if she never heard of one. Didn't she have a family? A home she could go back too?
"Are you okay Emily?" Esme asked her.Bless her heart. She was always kind to others. No one can say she does not have a soul. Emily put her hand on her necklace, and had silent tears streaming down her face.She looked at Esme and shook her head. What has gotten her upset? For some reason I felt the need to comfort her. Not like in a mate way but a fatherly way. I was worried.
"What is wrong Emily?" I asked her. She looked at me and smiled a little.She sniffed.
"For that answer I would have to tell you my story and you were first you promised. Plus I want to ask you questions to if that's all right with the both of you?" She asked the both of us.
"Of course that's expected." Esme said. Emily looked relieved. I walked us to our home,and opened the door.
Emily's P.O.V
Wow! that's all I have to say.Their home was huge it was three stories high.There were glass windows on the front of the house,a porch that came out. It was beautiful. Flowers were on the porch that made the house pop. It was their home. Home? What is a home? I've never known anything that was a "home." I gripped my necklace. Carlilse walked us to the house. He opened the door for us, like a gentlemen would. Esme walked in after kissing him on the cheek. He went in after grinning bashfully. I'm guessing if he was human he would be blushing. I smiled and was going to walk in the door way but was blocked. It felt as if it was a brick wall and it wasn't letting me in. I tried again.Nothing. Well this is new. Carlisle gave me a funny look. Esme didnt notice. She turned around and looked at me.
"Emily what are you doing? Come inside" Esme said. I tried it again and was able to come in.
"Well that was weird" I mumbled.
"What was weird?" Carlisle asked me.
"Nothing probably something that comes with being a hybrid. I guess" I told him.
"Well lets get on with it shall we?" Carlisle suggested.He gestured towards the living room with a sofa. I sat down to my surprise it was comfy. It is definitely a new era.
