3rd POV:
There was a woman with blonde hair up in a high bun wearing an elegant pink dress, on a walk around her estate. She was walking by the river when she saw a brown-haired girl with cat ears and a tail laying unconscious on the river bank. The woman had ran up to the unconscious neko, shaking her awake gently, but when she wouldn't wake up she checked for a pulse, yet none was to be found. The woman panicked and did the first thing that came to mind. She pressed her lips against the neko's and gave her chest compressions, in hope of starting to breathe again.The neko stored, coughing out tons of water as her ears and tail vanished and her hair turned blonde - like the woman's.
The woman was suprised to say the least, as she never saw anything like what she just saw before her own eyes.
"W-Where am I? W-who are you? W-who am I, for that matter?" The young girl, previously neko asked. The woman didn't know what to say, so she just introduced herself. "Hello my name is Layla Heartfilia, and you are... My daughter... Lucy Heartfilia, and you are at the Heartfilia estate river bank. You must've gotten lost while you were playing outside and had fallen in the river, causing you to lose your memories, child." The woman then explained.
"O-ok!" The neko responded.
"How about we go inside for dinner and get you all warmed up and put to bed?" Layla took her 'daughter' inside the estate and explained things to her husband Jude that night, and he agreed to taking the child in as their own.
~Time skip 13 years later~
Lucy's POV:
Hello, my name is Lucy Heartfilia! I am 17 years old, and am a Celestial mage. I ran away from home to join my dream guild Fairy Tail after I got fed up with my father's abuse. You know what else, I found out that I'm not even his child, the Heartfilias adopted me after finding me laying by their river bank all those years ago.
I was now standing in front of the doors of my dream guild with my new spirit friend Plue by my side. I picked Plue up into my arms about ready to open the doors when someone else opened the doors from the inside, slamming them in my face. "HEY WHATS THE BIG DEAL?! THAT HURT!!" I yelled, rubbing my face. I looked up to see a guy with bright pink spiky hair and a blue flying cat standing in front of me. The pink-haired guy reached his hand out to me, apologizing, while saying he was in a rush and didn't know I was there.
"It's alright! My name is Lucy! What's your name?" I asked.
He introduced himself as Natsu Dragneel, and the flying cat as Happy. When I looked at Happy, I automatically pulled him into my arms, fawning over how cute he was and not letting go of him. "AWWWWWWWWWWWW HE'S SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!"
After realizing what I was doing, I let go of Happy and apologized to him for strangling him. "Sorry Happy, I don't know why, but I've always just had this weird cat-crazed obsession." I said, truthfully.
He said it was alright and hoped to see me again as he and Natsu ran off to wherever they were going. I waved goodbye to them and headed inside the guild. I went up to the bar and introduced myself again.
"Hello my name is Lucy and I would like to join this guild!" The white-haired barmaid turned towards me smiling and replied, "Hello, Lucy my name is Mirajane Strauss, but you may call me Mira. Come this way - I'll take you up to the master's office." She motioned with her hand, leading the way.
"Thank you so much Mira!" I expressed my gratefulness and followed her.
Makarov's POV:
I was doing some paperwork (A/N: We all know what he's really doing ;) ) when I heard a knock on my door. I hurried to put them away, and told them to come in. I looked up to see Mira come in with a young blonde-haired lady come in. I gotta say the blonde hair girl was quite sexy (Naughty Master! LOL)
"Hello Children! What may I do for you?" The blonde-hair cutie stepped up and said, "Hello sir, my name is Lucy Heartfilia, the adopted child of Layla and Jude Heartfilia, and I would like to join this guild."
I was quite suprised, I knew Layla and Jude had a child, but I had always thought it was by blood and not adopted.
"Mira, you may go now, I would like to speak with Ms. Heartfilia in private please." I saw Mira smile and she left, closing the door behind her.
"Please have a seat child!" I motioned for her to sit down in front of me. "So before we start our chat we will be getting you your guild mark first! Now what magic do you use?" She smiled and shows me her keys. "WOAH! YOUR A CELESTIAL MAGE! Celestial mages are very rare these days. I see you got all the keys Layla had with a few new ones. Very impressive child! Now where would you like your guild mark?" She smiled again and showed me her back.
"The right midsection of my back in pink please," (same spot as Millianna's but on the right instead of left and in pink)
Oh I'm gonna enjoy this, I thought. (Pervert LOL). I smiled and stamped her back.
"Welcome to Fairy Tail, my child! Now then, I would like to ask you some questions, Lucy." I said, sternly. She sat back down, her face also becoming serious.
"So I was friends with Layla and Jude seeing as Layla was the last Celestial mage of Fairytail. After meeting Jude from Love & Lucky, they fell in love and got married. Layla leaving the guild to go and live a happy life with Jude. I heard that they had a child, but it was said that Layla had given birth. Tell me, child. What happened and why did you come here?"
Lucy's POV:
I looked at master straight in the eyes and spoke, hugging Plue. "Master, Layla is dead. She died July 7th X777. After she died Jude and I were both very depressed, but I looked forward, holding my head up high and continuing on with my life and striving to become a great celestial wizard like she was and fufill her legacy, but Jude on the other hand only became worse. He stopped paying attention to me and directed all his attention to the Heartfilia company, and shunned me out, abusing me. I put up with the abuse for so long after she died when I was at the age of 6. When I turned 17, I was finially old enough to go out on my own, so I left with the help of everyone who worked at the estate. Before I left, Mrs. Spetto gave me a file with my adoption certificate. I was pretty shocked to find that I had been lied to for many years, yet despite being lied to for so long I could never hate Layla, she was the closest figure I had to a real mother. I remembered the day I first met Layla very clearly. I was laying by the riverbank, unconscious, trapped in nothing but darkness. I would have been dead right now if she hadn't had found me and rescued me, I am forever in her debt for saving me that day. But when I had awoke, seeing her concerned face I had no idea where I was, who she was or even who I was. To be honest with you master, for all I know Lucy may not even be my real name. I don't know who I truly am nor where I came from - or even if I have a family out there looking for me. I came here looking for answers. Ever since I first heard of this place I have felt a connection to it somehow, and I believe something or someone may be able to trigger my memory even if it's just the tiniest bit. Not only that, but this is also my dream guild! I have wanted to join ever since I found out about this place so here I am now!" I looked up to gramps to see him crying in a mixture of tears of sadness and happiness.
"M-Master it's okay! I-it's not that big of a deal!" I went up to hug the short old man as he hugged back tighter than I was, not letting go.
"I-I'm so sorry my child! You had to go through all that! You are such a strong young lady, I'm certain that Layla is watching you from up there and is very proud of you!" Master had said, at that point I had broken down as well hugging him tighter.
"I promise you that I will help you regain you memories any way I can," Master said.
"T-thank you soo much, Master!! I looked out through the window to see it was already dark out. I jolted up. "Oh my gosh! I forgot to find a house and look how late it is!" Master offered me to stay at the Fairy Girls' apartments called Fairy Hills, but I told him that I didn't have any money.
He called up Mira and asked her if she could let me stay with her and her brother 'til I earnt money and found a place to stay. Of course, she said yes! "Thank you so much Mira!" I asserted, hugging her. As we left, the guild master called out to me saying that he would introduce me to the rest of the guild tomorrow, and with that we went to Mira's house for the night.
A/N: 1,634 words not counting this author's note. In the next chapter Lucy will be introduced to the guild, and encounters Natsu and Happy again. And has an encounter with a certain red head. Stay tuned. Remember to like, comment and vote!
