I closed Marline's bedroom door and went downstairs to find Britney fuming , she thinks I'm cheating on her or something man I'll have hell of a time as I can't tell her who Marline is . Britney heard my footsteps on the stairs and came to me
" well you better explain right now " she said raising her voice " who is she huh and why is she here and more in one of the beds in your house ?" she said pointing her finger at the bedroom door
" could you quite it down she's trying to return to sleep " I said trying to control myself from shouting at her
"quite it down ?! fine answer me then " she said
"she's nobody " I answered
"nobody ? that's all you got , is this Nobody ( she said making air quotes when she said nobody ) your fun friend " she said starting to fake cry . man I hate when females started to cry .
" No she 's... " I started to say when she cut me in
" am I not enough , what can she possibly give you this this ugly dog-faced slut " she said
" Enough OK that's enough " I shouted , " I didn't sleep with her she's somebody that has something to do with work nothing more nothing less get this idea out of your head " I said and she started to stop fake crying ( and I know it's fake cause I saw her cry before when her nail broke )
" oh and never insult her again , she's a colleague and a respected guest and you'll treat her as such got it ?" I said she nodded her head .
I started pouring coffee as sleep is a lost idea now after this mini episode . Britney came from behind me and hugged me from behind .
" do you want me to make you feel better " she said messaging my back .
" thanks but no thanks " I said shifting a little bit away from her
" you're still mad aren't you " She asked
" No Britney I'm OK " I replied
"no you aren't babe you're still mad at me " she said pouting
" well yeah , .. It wasn't the best thing that happened thirty minutes back " I said in a duh voice
" I thought we talked it through babe " she said
" yes we did , but you didn't give me respect out there , you didn't listen it was like i was the TV. or something " I told her back
" look Damien I'm really sorry for making you upset , I was just very mad at you when I found her in the bedroom , I thought you are cheating on me " she said
" It's OK Britney, .. just come talk to me first the next time " I replied
" OK babe , now back to why I came here in the first place in that hour , my friend's parents are having a day out at their yacht that will start at eight thirty and invited me and they wanna see you , so I came to tell you to get ready " she said
" I can't Brittney but you have fun though " I said
" why not " she said " it will be very important and the paparazzi are gonna be there "
as usual Britney and loving the attention .
" i can't because I'm headed to California , and how come you're in new york " I said
" I have a fashion gala remember " she said . Oh yeah she kind of mentioned it but I wasn't very interested , she knows that I was coming here on a work trip .
" now why are you headed to Cali again didn't you say that they transferred you here for a couple of months" she said
" well yeah but now I have to go back " I said
"and are you returning alone or with her " she asked suspiciously
" with her " I said
what .. why " she began to ask
" work Britney work : I said closing the argument
" Fine " she said puffing " I'll meet you there " she said
" No Britney you won't " I said
" why " she asked
" because I'll be living in a place you don't know " i said
" and why is that " she said demanding and angry
" because we're on a mission and the boss wants us in an unknown place until we finish this case " i said getting irritated
" Fine " she said getting pissed " I have to leave now to get ready since I'm going alone " she said and came and gave me a big kiss " but call me if you need me anytime babe " she said I nodded
" Chao babe " she said at the door
" bye Britney " I said and like that I got some peace and quite again ..

' Please all the passengers , put your seat belt on we are taking off '
I put my seat belt on and Marline was doing the same , I looked at her and found her hands shaking so I put my hands on hers and she looked at me and I smiled reassuringly " everything is gonna be alright " I said
" yeah " she said trying to smile , and looked at the window beside her and we fell in a comfortable silence . Staring at the back of the chair in front of me I couldn't help but think that this case is not just gonna end like all the others , something tells me this will change something , What I've got no idea .
Opening my eyes , my eyes fluttered shut quickly from the sunlight going through the window Marline is resting her head on while sleeping . I leaned a little and closed the window shutter.
While my hands were on the shutter I looked down and saw Marline's face calm and serene , kinda pretty even , .... maybe , I don't know but she doesn't look like gang prostitute , it was .... different as if she was another person the person she doesn't show so much although these wrinkles around her eyes shows how much pain and burden she had and still carry , if I could only know what is her real deal . Whoa slow down man you are on a mission and suddenly turning into some counselor shit and to whom to a possible criminal none the less .
I rested back on my chair and thought of what I'm facing in this case , this won't be easy I have a feeling this is not just a gang or even drug dealer I think it's more than just that , bigger shit .
I decided on taking Marline and I to one of my places in Cali that I haven't gone to since forever , and It's pretty isolated too , but will have to move again , I don't know why , but my instincts is tellin' me to take care , and my instincts are never wrong .
" Marline ........ Marline .....( I said shaking her ) , wake up , we're here .... Marline ....we landed ....Marline , we a.. " , " mhmm " she said yawning and stretching she opened her eyes " we landed " I said again , " oh , yeah OK " she said looking around and moving her head from side to side as if she's observing the idea that we landed and have to go, very awake now she said apologizing " OK let's go, I'm sorry I over slept " , " It's nothing " I said back .
we collected our stuff which were consisted of our IDs and wallet and .. that's pretty much it really yeah as Marline didn't have clothes as she left them behind in her apartment when she ran , and I have things over in my place so I don't need to carry anything .
" come on let's go " I said to Marline as she was waiting for me to stuff my things in my pockets .
" I should of known " Marline said as we entered my mini house ,
" what ?" I asked not knowing what she was referring to .
" Impressive " she said " a house out of a magazine cover " she said looking around in wonder
" thanks " I said " Welcome to my humble place " I said smirking
" humble ? .... psh yeah right .., that would be a hard word to say " she said , and I chuckled .
" OK , ah we could take this night as a rest and start fresh tomorrow morning " I said
"start what ?" she asked
" Marline " I said sighing " we need to work on this case we need to know what's going on , remember we said no more running " I said
"fine , I'll give you what I can " she said and I smiled at her
" so Where is my bedroom" she said while we were climbing the stairs
" Oh over there " I told her when we reached upstairs , " and this is your bathroom " I said
" the towels are in there " I said pointing towards them " and there are clothes for you here , they're my sister's and she's the same size as you I guess so you could use them till we settle and such. " I said going out the door " Oh and if you need anything I'm the room across from you " I said
"OK thanks " she replied and I closed the door behind me and went to my room to take a good shower to relax, as tomorrow we start the real work.
