It was the next morning, Nandini had just got out of the shower, she dried her hair and put on something nice. She checked her phone and there was a message an invite from kabir for his wedding, Nandini smiled she was really excited.
She was recovering perfectly too, she had told the hospital that she would be back next week and re join. She goes down stairs and sees Ahana on her phone.
"Good morning" Nandini greets her, Ahana looks up at her giving her a smile "good morning Nandini"
Nandini goes and sits next to her "so how's rehaan?"
"I just met him today, he was asking me to move in with him Lekin you know manik" Ahana pouts
"He's not wrong Ahana, you guys should get married honestly isse no one will say anything" Nandini advices
"That's what I'm thinking, manik Aur sahin uncle se baat karti hu" Ahana smiles, Nandini's expression changes hearing sahins name. Nandini realised that Ahana still doesn't know the whole truth about him.
"Sirf Manik se baat karna that's enough" Nandini tells her, Ahana nods.
"Waise manik hai kaha?" Nandini questions
"Pata nahi actually haven't seen him since morning" Ahana says, Nandini nods.
"And karan?"
"I'm here what's up" Karan comes from behind, he looked like he got soaked in the sweat. Nandini eyes him from head to toe "Woh sab toh thik hai Tum aise"
"I did a full on workout, lag raha hai na?" Karan spins hyping himself.
Nandini and Ahana look at each other and burst out laughing which confused karan and he looks at them "Kya what is so funny?"
"You" Ahana mocks him
"No no seriously you do look fit" Nandini chuckles
"Ab Nandini tumne bol diya toh jaake pura ice cream ka box kha lenga" Ahana laughs
"Nahi I'm on a strict diet, I got impr—" Karan stops as he realises what he was going to say
"Impress? Kisse?" Nandini presses her lips in excitement.
"N-no one I was just uhm joking" Karan gives an awkward laugh, Nandini furrows her eyebrows knowing he is lying.
"Yeah righttt, maine notice kiya hai kitni baar he fixes his hair, looks in the mirror Aur perfume toh Itna lagata hai oh god I think I'm going to be allergic to it" Ahana looks at him, karan looks away shyly
"Aww haha he's literally blushing, kisse pyaar hua hai tumhe?" Nandini asks laughing in between.
"Woh—"
"Nandini!" Karan gets cut off as they all hear Manik's voice from a distance, Nandini stops laughing and turns around
"Haan manik bolo" Nandini says smiling at him
Manik takes a deep breath and walks towards her "Mujhe tumhari sign chahiye"
"Sign?" Nandini furrows her eyebrows "for what?" Manik goes even closer to her and pulls out some papers from his file.
He hands over the papers to Nandini, she looks at him and then the papers and grabs them to start reading them. "This is divorce papers" manik says casually.
Nandini widens her eyes and looks at manik shocked, she blinks her eyes multiple times and then looks back at the paper to confirm. It was indeed divorce papers, Nandini closes them and looks at manik. Karan and Ahana too were shocked, karan didn't know manik was going to bring this divorce twist in or he would've warned and told Nandini.
"Y-you want a divorce?" Nandini looks at him, she honestly did not know what to even say. She had no idea manik would go this far. She was getting mad now at him for doing all this.
"Manik aap kyu aisa—"
"Ahana do not come in between us, this is our matter" manik cuts her off, Nandini looks at Ahana signing that she will handle it. Ahana nods and takes a step back
"Yes Nandini, I do want a divorce I don't want to stay with you" manik says, Nandini looks at him rolling her eyes
"Manik just re think this" karan buts in
"Karan did I just not say to not get involved" manik glares at him, karan shakes his head in anger and looks away.
"Manik what do you mean you don't want to stay with me?" Nandini tells him calmly
"Do I need to give a fucking reason? It's my choice" manik says in anger.
"Okay" Nandini simply says.
"H-huh?" Manik looks at her confused
"I said okay" Nandini looks at him meeting his eye
"Okay for not giving a reason?"
"Yes and okay for this divorce" Nandini looks at him and answers strongly "do you have a pen? Toh main abhi sign karlu"
Ahana looks at her confused as she was agreeing to the divorce, she knew how much Nandini loved manik but still she was going ahead with it which shocked her.
"Uhm pen, I will get it for you it's in the room" manik says, Nandini nods at him and doesn't say anything further.
Manik never knew it would be like this, he thought Nandini would try to find it and try to stop this divorce but instead she agreed to it which made him think. All sorts of questions started coming in his mind and the first one was related to kabir. 'Kya Nandini genuinely mujhse alag hona chahti hai does that mean she didn't love me'
Nandini looked at him go to his room to get a pen for her, he was sort of hesitating to do this especially when Nandini agreed to it straight away without questioning it.
"Nandini" Ahana quickly goes to her as soon as manik leaves "why did you agree, manik toh hai hi pagal Tum bhi"
"Ahana trust me I know what I'm doing, everything will be fine Tum jao aaram karo don't take stress" Nandini gives her a hug. Ahana was hesitant but she went to her room.
Karan looks at her raising her eyebrows "I bet this is one of your plan too, or you wouldn't have agreed"
"Chalo at least I didn't have to explain this one" Nandini chuckles a little
"But Nandini what will happen when you both sign it"
"Don't worry karan, even if we both sign it manik abhi se doubtful hai he won't give the papers to lawyers or he will keep denying it, Kyunki usko iss baat ki herani hui hai that why did I agree and now that will go around in his brain continuously" Nandini shared her plan
"And then hopefully he will realise what stupidity he is doing" Nandini hopes
"That's great, hopefully it'll work agar tumhe koi bhi help chahiye please tell me" karan smiles, Nandini nods.
She looks towards her room, manik still hadn't came yet from her room. Nandini decides to go there to see what he's up to, she goes and opens the door slightly and sees manik sitting on the bed with his hand on his forehead "Itna pareshaan ho raha hai Lekin yeh nahi ki zidd chodh de and say his true feelings" she whispers to himself.
She goes in "Kya hua pen nahi milli?" she asks, manik jumps up hearing her "oh yes pen nahi Mil rahi hai" he starts moving around quickly trying to find a pen.
Nandini looks at the side drawer and there was one right above it where manik was looking, she goes near him and grabs out a pen as manik looks towards her.
"Here pen bhi Mil gayi I'll sign it" Nandini puts out her hand asking him for the papers, manik was getting nervous and was taken back that she was not opposing it
"You aren't going to say anything about this?" Manik looks at her, Nandini moves her hand away "Kyu? Isn't it a good thing Matlab isn't this what you want then you should be happy I'm not opposing it"
"But is this what you want too?" Manik asks her, Nandini looks up at him "it doesn't matter, because after this hum dono khush rahege na you can be with any girl you like and no one will say anything and I can—"
"Be with anyone you love?" Manik finishes off her sentence
"I mean initially yes, Matlab puri zindagi ki toh I can't be single and alone right" Nandini says "mera bhi sapna hai that I find a guy who will love me a lot, Meri care kare and stays with me no matter what. Ek aisa ladka that I can start a family with, being a mother I want all of that so of course"
Manik nods he unknowingly clenches his fist in anger hearing that, the thought of Nandini being with someone else brings the rage inside him he honestly couldn't think of her being with someone else but he knew there would be possibilities in the future of manik leaves her
"Anyways let me sign the papers then I need to pack my bags also" Nandini says and grabs the paper from manik.
"Bags? For what?" Manik was confused
"If we are getting a divorce I wouldn't stay here right, toh sign karke main apne bhai ke ghar pe chali jaungi" Nandini tells him, she goes near the table and puts the paper there and finds where she needs to do a signature.
Manik was just looking at her with proper confusion, the way Nandini was acting so causal about all this sort of hurt him. Nandini finally finds it and she immediately signs it without thinking because even she knew her plan would definitely work.
"There you go manik, ab Tum sign karlo then whenever you say we can go lawyers office" Nandini hands over the papers to him. Manik looked at her as lines formed on his forehead, Nandini knew exactly what manik would be thinking right now, she knew he is slowly realising.
"Manik" Nandini clicks her fingers in front of him to get him out of his thoughts "h-haan?" He looks at her again
"Take your time, I will pack my bags okay" she gives him a smile.
Nandini goes and takes out her bags, manik just watches her unable to say anything. She takes out her clothes from her wardrobe hoping at least now he would stop her but manik wasn't reacting at her, she could just sense him looking towards her. She puts all her clothes and belongings in it and zips it shut:
She looks at him who was still not saying anything, Nandini takes a deep breath hoping for him to stop her but he doesn't move an inch nor says anything which sort of annoys her because she knew her plan was clearly working but he was not saying anything.
'Abhi bhi Dekho isse he's not saying anything, aisa toh nahi ki he genuinely doesn't want to stop me' Nandini overthinks
Nandini turns around and drags her bags with her to go to the door, she heads towards the door as manik looks at her he presses his lips together to control himself as he thinks whatever he's doing is for the best.
"Nandini!" Manik finally says as he closes his eyes breathing heavily. Nandini stops hearing him which makes her break in to a smile of relief, she wished that he would genuinely confess and stop her this time.
