Two weeks in a relationship, and counting! It was 10:00 in the morning and they both were awakened by the sound of the doorbell ringing. Felix got up to answer the door as his roommate was still fazed on getting up from bed. Soon, Felix came back from the door as he handed mail to her while rubbing his eye.
“What’s this?” Lucia asked, yawning as the squints at the envelopes.
“Oh, yeah.. Almost forgot… We can get fanmail… And yeah…” Felix replied.
“Ahhhhh!! Dude! What time is it?” she asked, putting the mail down, not even reading what’s inside.
“Uh… 10:13 am… Why?”
“Oh, fudge!” she literally went out of her covers.
“Lucia, what’s wrong?”
Its not that she didn’t trust Felix, its just that maybe he’ll suspect something. But she knew it was just a meeting with the twins.
“I… I remembered I have to go somewhere…” she said as she looked in his eyes, sensing worry by the way he looks at her.
“Can I come?” he asked. The very question she had feared to come out from her boyfriend.
“Um… I…” she manages to say as she thinks about it.
Felix then puts his hand on top of Lucia’s and pulls it closer to him. He pulled her in to an unexpected kiss. It was heart warming. Her face –particularly her lips—was burning from the sensation. He breaks away, his hand brushing the hair behind Lucia.
“Its OK… You can trust me.”
With a look like that, she could melt at any second. He finally broke her and she told the truth.
“I’m going to the twins… Something’s up with Jack, as his brother says…” she finally blurted out, looking away from his face as she did so. Shame is a hurtful thing, indeed. But she couldn’t bring herself to lie to Felix. At least, not yet.
“Alright… I guess the twins only asked for you, so…” he said as his raises his hands in surrender and lets Lucia through. Her face lit up as he answered back positively. She gave him one quick peck on the cheek before rushing to the bathroom to change.
Their decision was 11:00 in the morning. It might be pretty weird for her to do this but, she wanted to look her best. She wore a black shirt that went horizontal on her collarbone, so it was a bit breezy for her. She then wore regular, old jeans and as for her shoes, she used boots. Now that she noticed it, she was all black…. To think she’s going out like that in the morning. Nevertheless, she looked cool.
She went out of the bathroom, combing her hair as she did so, until she bumped into Felix, making her drop her comb she was holding.
“Whoa, girl…. You look hawt!!” He says as he looks at her from head to toe. She giggled as Felix has his eyes widened to the max, grinning. “Wooot!! I’m burning!!”
“Oh, I guess once you suit up, you’re hot too….” She said as she pokes his cheek as she passes by him. Felix chuckled and gave Lucia’s butt a pinch, making her shriek. Despite from all the business with Felix, she liked the playful banter.
“You got your phone?” he asked as Lucia was about to turn the doorknob.
“Yes.”
“You know this adress, right?”
“Yes…”
“You can always call the cops when---“
“Alright! Haha… Jeez..” she gigled as she finally closed the door on him.
She took the elevator down and exited the lobby, only to find Finn sitting on one of the couches there, looking impatient. Shaking leg, magazine in his hands, looking at his watch, yep. She almost mistook him as Jack for their uncanny likeness. She approached slowly, the chains on her jeans tingle with every step she makes.
Finn looks up from his magazine to find her slowly making her way towards him. He immediately fixed his jacket and sat up straight. She guess he was astonished at her attire as well. He looks at her from head to toe as she finally stopped to what she thinks as the right distance from the twin.
“I see you’re well dressed for this…” he said to start the conversation.
“You’re not so bad yourself…” she replied as she notices his Union Jack t-shirt that’s covered by a black jacket with his headphones hanging around his neck. “Let’s go?”
He stood up to accompany her to the door, their Honda Civic parked outside the entrance, ready for take-off. He opened the door for her before she oculd even touch it. I guess Brits are still practicing chivalry in this time.
The car finally started, making our way to Gothenburg. It was silent. Lucia bit her lip, like she was the one at fault for causing this blasted silence. She had to say something….
“You—“
“Do—“
They both broke the silence at the same time, making it a million more times awkward.
“You first…” Finn said as he took a turn to the right, passing by a McDonald’s store.
“Alright….. You remember the mark you gave me?” she says as she flips her hair to the other side of her neck, revealing the slowly fading words of ‘Insert Fangs Here’. Finn stopped the car to look at her. And it was an abrupt stop, by the way. She wondered at first why the sudden halt, then she noticed that it was red on a traffic light.
“Yeah, I still remember…. Jack was a complete wussy when we did that.” He said as he rubs his forehead, smiling.
“Oh, um… You were saying?” she finally said as it came to mind.
“… Um… Do you want to do a collaboration with us? Jack won’t know… It’ll be a surprise…”
A smile formed on her lips. She nodded in agreement. Soon, Finn placed his hands on the wheel and started driving again.
It wasn’t much of a long drive, but at least she knew Finn a little bit more. It surprised her that he was a graphic designer. It was another apartment, a little bit like where Lucia and Felix were staying. Finn killed the engine and they got out at the same time. She figured it was almost noon for the sun was at its highest point. Still, the heat didn’t stop her from wearing black even though black sucks up the rays of the sun more. They both approached the entrance with Finn waving ‘hi’ to some tennants from the place.
“Why, you’ve caught a nice one, my boy!” one old man said as they passed by him. It was kind of awkward, but one that they can easily shrug off. It IS a misunderstanding.
They headed straight for the elevator and went up to the floor where the twins were staying in. It wasn’t long before Finn knocked on the door before opening it.
“Jack! I’m home!” Finn said as he takes off his jacket and places it on the nearby couch.
“Fiiiiiinnnn!! What have I told you about leaving without—“ Jack came in the area, coming from the kitchen. He had a surprised look on his face, but that soon turned into a nervous smile.
“Oh! Lucia! I wasn’t expecting you!” Jack said as he squeezes in between Finn and Lucia, emphasizing the last word as he nudges his twin from behind, making Finn flinch.
“Oh, really? Well, Finn told me that—“ she says, totally confused.
“No, its really OK, so just… make yourself at ho—ow!” Finn interrupted but was nudged hard by Jack once again.
“Excuse us for a minute while I talk to my brother in the kitchen…” Jack said as he takes his twin by the ear and drags him to the said destination.
Lucia sighed and sat on the couch, near to where Finn’s jacket is. Footsteps were heard beside her and a familiar face comes into the room.
“Hey, Alfie! Remember me?” she said as she waved her hand to him.
“Oh, yeah! You’re awesome, RegularTimer!” he said as he also went in the kitchen, probably to get something in the fridge as he was still wearing his pajamas.
Soon, the twins, together with Alfie, finally came out of the kitchen, both with expressions of agreement on their faces.
“Alright… We’ve decided that you can stay and visit as long as you want, Lucia.” Jack said, grinning.
“And we’re gonna do a collab. together!” Finn exclaimed.
Jack looked at him, his eyes widened. “We didn’t talk about tha---“
Everyone was silent as they heard a loud ‘Whooooott! Alright!’ from a certain Alfie Deyes, who’s fist-pumping the air with his right knee doing the same. It is decided.
